July 2025 Reading Wrap Up
Another month is in the books, which means it’s time for my July 2025 reading wrap-up!
I say this every month, but I truly can’t believe how fast time is flying.
I’ve been soaking up every minute of sunshine at the cottage, and it’s been such a refreshing reset. The best part? My reading has really benefited from the slower pace.
This month, my reading picked up in a big way—I managed to get through a great mix of genres. It definitely gave my Goodreads reading challenge a boost. Fingers crossed I can keep the momentum going and meet my goal soon.
In total, I read seven books in July—five new releases and one backlist title. I’m hoping I can carry this energy into August and read just as many or maybe even more!

July 2025 Reading Wrap Up

How to Sell a Romance by Alexa Martin. I’ve been meaning to pick up a romance by Alexa Martin for ages, and I’m so glad I finally did! I had the chance to read an early copy of How to Sell a Romance, and I enjoyed every second of it. The characters are relatable, the humour left a smile on my face, and the romance was incredibly sweet. I also loved the MLM plotline—it added such an intriguing layer and kept me turning the pages. I can’t wait to read more of her books soon. If you have any recommendations for what to pick up first, let me know in the comments!
The Fall Risk by Abby Jimenez. Every once in a while, I’m in the mood for a novella, and this one has been sitting on my TBR for a while. The Fall Risk is a cute and sweet romantic novella that hit the spot. I’m always amazed by Abby Jimenez’s ability to pack so much heart and substance into such a short read. Just like her full-length novels, I finished it feeling satisfied and smiling. While her books always carry an emotional thread, it’s handled with such care that it enhances the story rather than overshadowing the hopeful tone of a great romance. I really hope she writes more novellas in the future!
Overruled by Lana Ferguson. Overruled was another early copy I was lucky enough to read—and wow, I loved every second. I was hooked from the very beginning. It’s a spicy romance (which is totally on-brand for Lana Ferguson), but it’s also full of heart. I adored the enemies-to-lovers dynamic—Dani and Ezra have undeniable chemistry, and you can’t help but root for them. I also really enjoyed the plot, especially how it centred around a single divorce proceeding. The surprises along the way kept things exciting. Overall, it’s a fantastic romance, and it definitely makes me want to dive into Lana Ferguson’s backlist next!

Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli. I picked up Heartless Hunter last year after a friend recommended it, and I really enjoyed it. Rebel Witch was one of my most anticipated young adult books this year, so I decided to reread the first book before diving in—I wanted to experience the entire duology all at once. I loved Heartless Hunter just as much the second time around. The romance is fantastic, and the dynamic between Rune and Gideon completely pulls you in. There’s just something so fun about a book featuring a witch and a witch hunter!
Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli. Immediately after finishing Heartless Hunter, I jumped right into Rebel Witch. I’m so glad I read them back-to-back—it made it really enjoyable to experience the full story at once. While I didn’t love the sequel quite as much as the first book, I still enjoyed every minute of it and think it’s a solid conclusion to this romantasy duology. If you’re looking for a young adult fantasy series with romance and witches that doesn’t require a huge time commitment, this is a great pick!
Till Summer Do Us Part by Meghan Quinn. After reading some fantasy, I needed a change of pace, so I dove into Meghan Quinn’s newest release. She’s one of my auto-buy authors, and I’ve been eagerly waiting to pick this one up. Till Summer Do Us Part is the perfect summer romance! It’s hilarious—I was smiling and giggling all the way through, which is no surprise. I loved the premise of Scottie and Wilder pretending to be married at a marriage camp. It’s definitely a silly setup, but it made for such an enjoyable read.
Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Atmosphere is my book club’s July pick, and I was so excited to finally read it—I’ve been anticipating it since the moment it was announced. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is one of my all-time favourite books, so my expectations were high.
While I enjoyed Atmosphere, it didn’t quite hit me the same way. The story is solid, and I really appreciated the character development, but I didn’t find the characters or the plot quite as gripping. For me, it was a good read—it just didn’t blow me away. At the time of writing this, I’m getting ready to meet up with my book club, so I’m looking forward to hearing what everyone else thinks!
