June 2026 Reading Wrap Up

Somehow, we’re halfway through the year, and it’s time to share my June 2026 reading wrap-up!

June wasn’t the best reading month for me, but it wasn’t my worst either, so I’ll take that as a win! The last month of the school year was busy, so my reading wasn’t a priority. But school is officially out, and I’m up at the cottage for the summer, so fingers crossed I can finally kick my reading momentum into gear!

In June, I read five books—two 2026 releases and three backlist titles. It was a solid reading month, but nothing truly blew me away.

Now that I’m up at the cottage for the summer, I’m hoping to catch up on my reading. If I want to hit my Goodreads reading goal this year, I really need to try to get some good reading done over the next couple of months!

For now, here’s everything I read in June 2026!

June 2026 Reading Wrap Up

The Someday Garden by Ashley Poston. I’ve been looking forward to this one ever since I fell in love with The Seven Year Slip. While it wasn’t my favourite Ashley Poston romance, I still enjoyed the magical realism, the whimsical garden setting, and the beautiful aspect of naming each chapter after an untranslatable word. The romance felt a little overshadowed by the story’s exploration of grief, so I didn’t connect with it as much as I’d hoped, but it was still a thoughtful and enjoyable read.

Off to the Races by Elsie Silver. I’ve been meaning to catch up on Elsie Silver’s backlist for ages, and I’m so glad I finally started the Gold Rush Ranch series. I don’t think this hooked me quite as quickly as the Rose Hill series, but I still had such a good time with it. Elsie always strikes the perfect balance between sweet romance, great chemistry, and just the right amount of spice, and I’m excited to continue the series.

Out of the Gate by Elsie Silver. This novella is included in the paperback edition of Off to the Races, so I read it right away. It was a sweet age-gap romance that also filled in some backstory about Vaughn’s grandpa, Dermot. It was a quick, enjoyable addition to the series and a nice bridge between books.

Into the Blue by Emma Brodie. This was my book club pick for the month, and unfortunately, it’s currently in soft DNF territory. I really wanted to love it because the premise sounded so interesting, but I struggled with the extremely long chapters, the large cast of characters, and the amount of sci-fi information introduced all at once. I also don’t feel very connected to the love story. I’m hoping to come back to it one day because I do think it has potential—I just wasn’t in the right headspace for it this month.

A Not So Meet Cute by Meghan Quinn. After setting Into the Blue aside, I knew exactly what I needed—a Meghan Quinn re-read. It was one of the first books I read by her, and I loved it just as much the second time around. It’s funny and swoony, with the perfect balance of sweet moments and spice. Meghan Quinn remains one of my go-to authors whenever I need a book to pull me out of a reading slump. I think I’ll re-read the other two books in the series at some point, too—I just don’t know when.
