Drive Me Crazy by Lizzy Dent

I know nothing about Formula 1, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to read F1 romance. Drive Me Crazy follows Chloe, a motivated team principal trying to rebuild her struggling crew, and Matt, the once-legendary driver who is also her childhood crush she’s never quite forgotten. As they fight to salvage their careers and navigate the high-stakes world of racing, their chemistry is as strong as the competition around them. When Maddie unexpectedly becomes his kids’ nanny, their witty banter sparks irresistible chemistry, blurring the boundaries they try to set. It has a vibe similar to The Nanny, and I’m excited to read it.

Filled with small-town atmosphere, gentle magic, and a soft, slow-burn love story, this is perfect for readers who love whimsical romance with emotional depth.

Anne of a Different Island by Virginia Kantra Book Cover

Anne of a Different Island by Virginia Kantra

If there’s a book inspired by Anne of Green Gables, I have to read it. In this heartfelt story, Anne is a lifelong romantic who’s always shaped her life around the stories she loves—until everything falls apart at once. Returning to her hometown, she’s forced to confront her past, her grief, and the boy she never expected to see again as she relearns how to write her own future. It sounds like a tender, hopeful story about second chances, and I can’t wait to read it!

Catch Her if You Can by Tessa Bailey Book Cover

Catch Her if You Can by Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey is one of my go-to authors, so it’s no surprise her next release is on this list. This friends-to-lovers sports romance follows Madden, a Yankees catcher who has quietly loved Eve, the burlesque club owner who keeps him at a distance. When he proposes a marriage of convenience to help her care for her sister’s kids, their carefully drawn boundaries quickly blur into something neither of them can ignore. I’m sure this will be full of witty banter and Tessa Bailey’s signature spicy moments.

One Week Later by KJ Micciche Book Cover

One Week Later by KJ Micciche

After a spicy week together turns to heartbreak and silence, both writers channel the experience into novels—only to collide years later when one book launches a career and the other sparks accusations of copying. With unresolved feelings, bad timing, and second-chance tension, this will be a fun romance about lost connections and chasing your dreams.

It sounds like it will be an addictive romance readers won’t want to put down!

See You at the Summit by Jordyn Taylor Book Cover

See You at the Summit by Jordyn Taylor

See You at the Summit sounds like an enjoyable romance about coming out, self-discovery, and falling for the one person you didn’t expect. When a bi woman embracing her identity is thrown together with a grumpy, straight co-worker, sparks fly in ways that complicate everything she thought she wanted. I can’t wait to read this emotional and honest romance that explores what it means to claim who you are, even when things don’t go according to plan.

Sunk in Love by Heather McBreen Book Cover

Sunk in Love by Heather McBreen

I’m a sucker for second-chance romance, so I’m really looking forward to Heather McBreen’s next release. Sunk in Love follows Roslyn and Liam, who agree to fake their still-intact marriage during a family cruise—despite quietly heading toward divorce. What begins as a week of pretending soon stirs up old memories, unresolved grief, and the feelings they’ve both tried to bury. I expect this one to be warm, emotional, and full of cruise-ship charm!

The Re-Do List by Denise Williams Book Cover

The Re-Do List by Denise Williams

I adore Denise Williams, so it’s no surprise her next release is on this list. This sweet romance follows Willow as she rebuilds her confidence after a painful breakup by tackling a “re-do list” of firsts—helped along by her brother’s loyal (and very off-limits) best friend, Deacon. What starts as friendly support quickly turns into real chemistry as their pretend do-overs become genuine, emotional milestones. I can’t wait to pick this one up!

The Slow Burn by Ali Rosen Book Cover

The Slow Burn by Ali Rosen

Ali Rosen’s next release sounds so enjoyable! When a burned-out chef escapes to the Italian countryside for a brief reset, she finds comfort in simple cooking, a tight-knit community, and undeniable chemistry with a local olive oil producer. It sounds tender and romantic—perfect for readers who love travel romances and yummy food. I know I’m looking forward to this one!

February 2026 Romance Books to Read

Game, Set, Match by Jennifer Iacopelli Book Cover

Game, Set, Match by Jennifer Iacopelli

Clearly, I’m in my sports era with the number of sports romance books on this list. This tennis rom-com follows Penny, a rising star determined to stay focused as she prepares for the biggest tournament of her career—until she runs into Alex, the charismatic bad boy who once broke her heart. Training side by side at their elite club forces old sparks back to life, no matter how hard Penny tries to keep her game face on. It sounds like it will be a fun story with some great on- and off-court drama.

Just for the Cameras by Meghan Quinn Book Cover

Just for the Cameras by Meghan Quinn

I am a huge fan of Meghan Quinn’s books—they’re my ultimate comfort reads. This playful rom-com brings together Maple, a devoted zookeeper with zero patience for egos, and Graydon, a famously grumpy football star forced into a PR stunt he wants nothing to do with. Their fake-friendly partnership quickly turns into witty banter, unexpected chemistry, and plenty of awkward on-camera moments. I just know I’m going to love this one!

Love and Other Brain Experiments by Hannah Brohm

There’s nothing better than a STEM rom-com, and I have high hopes for this one. Love and Other Brain Experiments follows Frances, a neuroscientist eager to revive her stalled career at a high-profile conference hosted by her wildly successful ex. When her rivalry with fellow researcher Lewis is mistaken for romantic tension, a fake-dating scheme suddenly becomes her most promising strategy. It sounds like a smart, humorous, and charming rivals-to-lovers story about discovering what you truly want in life, perfect for fans of Ali Hazelwood and Christina Lauren.

One and Only by Maurene Goo Book Cover

One & Only by Maurene Goo

I’m really looking forward to Maurene Goo’s adult debut. Blending In Five Years vibes with a millennial Joy Luck Club feel, this rom-com follows Cassia, a matchmaker who can find everyone’s soulmate except her own. After a spontaneous fling with a younger man sparks real chemistry, Cass is stunned when he introduces her to his boss, Daniel, the fated love she’s been searching for over the past decade. As family secrets come to light and destiny clashes with desire, Cass must decide whether to trust fate or finally choose her own path.

Skate It Till You Make It by Rufaro Faith Mazarura Book Cover

Skate It Till You Make It by Rufaro Faith Mazarura

Skate It Till You Make It sounds like the perfect winter rom-com to cozy up with. It follows Ari, a new team captain trying to stay focused during the biggest competition of her career, and Drew, a risk-averse photographer seeking a fresh start. After a one-night connection they never expected to revisit, fate throws them back together in the Swiss Alps—and suddenly fake dating seems like the easiest way to navigate nosy families, messy exes, and mounting pressure. I expect it to be charming, cozy, and full of chemistry.

The Wild Card by Stephanie Archer Book Cover

The Wild Card by Stephanie Archer

Admittedly, I’m behind on the Vancouver Storm series, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to read the next release. The Wild Card pairs Jordan, the reluctant new staff member with the Vancouver Storm team, with Tate, the beloved coach and a single dad known for being impossible to dislike—except by her. Forced to work together to save the team, their dynamic shifts as Tate’s gentle, protective side begins to emerge in ways Jordan never expected. With sizzling chemistry and their careers at stake, it’s a tempting risk neither can ignore. How fun does this one sound?

Honey Bee Mine by Sarah T. Dubb Book Cover

Honey Bee Mine by Sarah T. Dubb

I love a good small-town romance, and I feel like this one will be so enjoyable. Honey Bee Mine follows Penny, a hardworking beekeeper determined to save her family farm, and Zander, the reformed bad boy who reluctantly returns home for the summer. Forced to team up to pull off the town’s Honey Festival, their clashing personalities slowly turn into flirtation, trust, and chemistry neither expected. It sounds like it will be warm, sweet, and full of charm—kind of like a Hallmark movie, and I’m not mad about it!

I'm Looking for a Man in Finance by Sabrina Waldorf Book Cover

I’m Looking for a Man in Finance by Sabrina Waldorf

This one totally got to me because of the title, but I’m also really looking forward to reading it. In this enemies-to-lovers rom-com, Hallie is a journalist reluctantly hunting for Wall Street’s hottest bachelor and ends up meeting James, the finance bro who keeps derailing her assignment for reasons he won’t admit. Their weekly clashes shift into witty banter, sparks and more chemistry than either planned on. It sounds like it will be so fun and full of some Manhattan drama—I can’t wait for this one!

Maybe This Once by Sophie Sullivan Book Cover

Maybe This Once by Sophie Sullivan

Another small-town romance I’m excited to read! This story follows Charlie, who’s trying to rebuild her life after a viral video throws her off course, and Grayson, a lodge owner who’s happy keeping his heart off-limits. What starts as a simple summer fling quickly becomes deeper as their surprising connection challenges the walls they’ve both built. I expect it to be a sweet and tender opposites-attract story that shows the importance of taking a chance on something real.

The Baby Dragon Bookshop by A.T. Qureshi Book Cover

The Baby Dragon Bookshop by A.T. Qureshi

The next book in The Baby Dragon series is almost here! When two magical business owners are forced to compete, then cooperate for funding, their long-standing animosity turns into something more. With enemies-to-lovers tension, small-town charm, and a whimsical bookshop setting, this cozy romance is perfect for readers who love a little magical realism and slow-burn chemistry.

Two Can Play by Ali Hazelwood Book Cover

Two Can Play by Ali Hazelwood

I’m really excited to finally read Two Can Play by Ali Hazelwood. Originally released as an audio exclusive, this story explores the world of video game design with plenty of tension and spice. Viola lands her dream project—until she’s paired with Jesse, the coworker who can’t stand her for reasons she’s never understood. Stranded together at a snowy team retreat, their frosty dynamic begins to thaw, revealing unexpected chemistry and much more beneath their rivalry.

Untamed Heart by Gemma Morr

Untamed Heart is pitched as perfect for fans of Elsie Silver and Lyla Sage, which sounds perfect to me! It follows Lottie, who escapes a collapsing life to return home to her family’s ranch in Wyoming. A chance encounter with a handsome stranger quickly becomes complicated when she discovers Cole works at the Diamond Back ranch. When a rival ranch threatens everything, she must prove to everyone and herself that she has what it takes to succeed. I can’t wait for this one!

Hunter’s Treasure by Olivia Jackson

Hunter’s Treasure is another rom-com adventure story on this list that I can’t wait to get to. It follows Sydney, who washes ashore expecting disaster—not a grumpy treasure hunter with a map and a mission. Drawn into Hunter’s search for legendary gold, she suddenly finds herself trekking through dangerous terrain, dodging snakes, and competing against a rival crew that wants the treasure just as badly. It sounds so fun!

If Only You Knew by Ellie K. Wilde

I’m behind on the Oakwood Bay series, but I’m still excited for the final book! This friends-to-lovers story follows Summer and Parker, lifelong best friends who try to fix each other’s love lives—only to discover they might have been looking in the wrong direction all along. After a matchmaking disaster pushes Summer to leave Oakwood Bay for a globe-spanning surf competition, Parker finally realizes the depth of his feelings. I think this one will be sweet, heartfelt, and full of yearning, and I’m really looking forward to reading it.

Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson

I haven’t read any books by Melissa Ferguson, but this will definitely be my first! This clue-filled rom-com follows Pip, an assistant to a famous mystery author, whose composure is tested when a glamorous book cruise turns deadly. With the ship’s security struggling, she teams up with Nash, a charming Western novelist, to uncover the truth before the killer strikes again. I’m hoping it will be packed with humour and sweet romance, leaving me wanting more.

And Now, Back to You by B.K. Borison

I still need to read First Time Caller, but I’m really looking forward to the sequel. This romance follows Delilah and Jackson, two meteorologists whose clashing styles land them on a reluctant team covering a historic snowstorm. As they trade expertise, their prickly dynamic softens into an unexpectedly sweet friendship, marked by undeniable chemistry. It sounds cozy, funny, and full of opposites-attract charm that I know I’m going to love.

March 2026 Romance Books to Read

A Girl Like Her by Tali Hibbert

I feel like it’s been forever since I read Get a Life, Chloe Brown. This new release by Talia Hibbert is the first in a trilogy and follows Ruth, a guarded outcast in her small town, and Evan, a warm and steady ex-military neighbour who refuses to be pushed away. As his patience slowly breaks through her defences, their unlikely connection becomes something Ruth never thought she deserved—until old rumours resurface and threaten the trust they’ve built. It sounds like a more emotional and intimate story than her previous ones, but I’m looking forward to reading about hope, healing, and finding someone who sees you exactly as you are.

In Her Own League by Liz Tomforde

Surprisingly, I haven’t read anything by Liz Tomforde yet—but I think this might be my first! This slow-burning baseball romance follows Reese, the first female team owner in the league, who’s fighting for respect in an environment eager to see her slip, and Emmett, the team’s dedicated field manager, who challenges her at every turn. Long hours and shared pressure soon turn their conflicts into chemistry, revealing the vulnerability beneath Reese’s icy exterior. It sounds clever and steamy, and since I’m now in my baseball-loving era, I have a feeling I’ll enjoy this one.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea by Lauren Blakely

Lauren Blakely’s next release looks like it’ll be such a good read! This small-town rom-com follows a lavender farmer whose life is turned upside down when her twin sister’s movie shoot brings paparazzi and a broody, tattooed bodyguard right to her doorstep. The main problem is that he’s the one-night stand who disappeared before sunrise, and now he keeps showing up to rescue her at every turn. As their flirty tension deepens into something more, they’re forced to face the truth that a summer fling might not be enough for them. I can’t wait!

Just Friends by Haley Pham

I’ve been watching Haley Pham’s BookTube for a while now, so I’m excited to read her debut novel! This second-chance romance follows Blair and Declan, childhood best friends whose first love ended in heartbreak—and who unexpectedly find themselves reunited years later in their coastal hometown. As Blair returns to care for her family and starts a job at Declan’s coffee shop, old feelings resurface alongside the hurt they never fully addressed. It sounds emotional and nostalgic, and I can’t wait for the dual timelines and the idea of rediscovering your way back to your safe space.

No Matter What by Cara Bastone

I still need to read Promise Me Sunshine, but that doesn’t stop me from being excited about Cara Bastone’s upcoming release. This slow-burning second-chance romance follows Roz and Vin, a married couple still reeling from a traumatic accident that drove them apart. With divorce on the horizon, Roz distracts herself with a figure drawing class—only to end up sketching the one man she’s trying not to miss: her estranged husband. As shared vulnerability gradually replaces avoidance, the two begin to rediscover the tenderness and attraction they thought they’d lost. I know this one will be emotional and heartfelt, but it also promises to be a story about rebuilding, healing, and seeing things with fresh eyes.

The Book Tour by Emily Ohanjanians

If you love bookish elements in your romance, you don’t want to miss The Book Tour! It’s a book-tour rom-com about a bubbly debut author and the grumpy publicist she’s stuck travelling with. What starts as pure frustration quickly turns into undeniable chemistry as city-hopping, late nights, and blurred boundaries make it impossible to resist. With workplace tension, opposites-attract energy, and witty banter, I expect this one to be really enjoyable!

Back in the Saddle by Maggie Eckersley

Back in the Saddle is described as a book perfect for fans of Lyla Sage, Paisley Hope, and Elsie Silver. Count me in! It follows Caroline, a newly divorced doctor looking for a fresh start in Oklahoma, and Hunter, the rugged rancher who takes her breath away with just one kiss. Their chemistry is instant and undeniable, even as old wounds and heavy responsibilities threaten to pull them apart. It sounds steamy, heartfelt, and all about healing and second chances.

How to Write a Love Story by Catherine Walsh

I absolutely adore Catherine Walsh—she’s one of my favourite authors on Kindle Unlimited, so I can’t miss this one. How to Write a Love Story follows Ciara, an aspiring writer struggling to finish her late father’s beloved fantasy series, and Sam, the young New York editor sent to help her make it happen. What begins as a high-pressure collaboration on a windswept Irish estate soon turns into sun-soaked days, shared creativity, and an unexpected connection. I can’t wait for the bookish vibes, the Irish setting, and the swoon-worthy romance I’ve come to love with Catherine Walsh’s books.

No Place Like You by Jillian Meadows

Fans of fake-dating and small-town romance don’t want to miss this one! When former best friends turned rivals strike a deal that benefits them both, old feelings resurface fast—and so does the chemistry. With second-chance vibes, a charming small-town atmosphere, and the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, this is a great read for anyone who loves fake-dating that turns very real.

The Starter Ex by Mia Sosa

Mia Sosa always writes fun rom-coms, so I’m looking forward to this one. It follows Vanessa, a former “starter ex” expert who once made a business out of being the world’s worst girlfriend, and Jason, the commitment-phobic bachelor who hires her to scare off his matchmaking mother. What should’ve been a quick, chaotic fake relationship turns complicated fast when Jason refuses to run, and Vanessa realizes she might not want him to. I think this one will be fun, flirty, full of tension and the perfect twist on the fake-dating trope.

Toe to Toe by Falon Ballard

As soon as I heard about Toe to Toe, it instantly made me think of Dirty Dancing, so of course, I had to include it on this list. It follows Allegra, a disciplined ballerina fighting for what might be her last chance at a principal role, and Cord, the charismatic revue dancer who reluctantly agrees to help her tap into the confidence her director says she lacks. Their late-night rehearsals spark an undeniable chemistry, blurring the line between practice and passion. It sounds like an interesting read, and I’m excited to pick it up!

Love Song by Elle Kennedy

I haven’t read many books by Elle Kennedy, but this one has caught my eye—I also absolutely love the cover! This standalone romance follows Blake, who escapes to her family’s Tahoe lake house after a brutal breakup, only to find Wyatt, the older musician who once broke her teenage heart. What begins with sharp tension quickly warms into a slow, sizzling connection that neither can ignore. I think it will be filled with humour, emotion, and sweet moments about an unforgettable summer and a second chance at love.

The Fortune Flip by Lauren Kung Jessen

This new release from Lauren Kung Jessen sounds so fun! The Fortune Flip follows Hazel, whose life hits rock bottom just before an unexpected kiss from a handsome stranger and his unruly cat sends her fortune spinning in a new direction. Suddenly, everything is going right—except Logan’s luck seems to be plummeting just as hers soars. It sounds like a lovely and funny story—it kind of gives me Just Our Luck vibes.

Cross My Heart by Esha Patel

Cross My Heart is another fun sports romance book on this list! It follows May, a dedicated lacrosse player determined to maintain her hard-earned spot on the team—until Colt, her childhood nemesis turned professional athlete, arrives to assist with training. When a misleading photo sparks rumours and unexpected media attention, the two are pushed into a fake relationship to keep the momentum going. I can’t wait for the witty banter, the competitive tension, and the growing chemistry. It sounds perfect for fans of Bal Khabra and Hannah Grace.

The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez

There’s no way I could miss Abby Jimenez’s next book. In The Night We Met, Larissa reflects on one quick decision—the ride home she didn’t take—that changed everything. Now she and Chris, the man she might have chosen, share a close friendship, a chaotic rescue pup, and an easy chemistry she can’t quite ignore—despite dating his best friend. I just know it will be heartfelt, humorous, and emotional, just like her previous books. I can’t wait to read this one!

In My Tudor Era by Kate Bromley

Time travel is always something that intrigues me in books. This delightful time-travel romance follows Lily, a modern graduate student who suddenly wakes up in the body of Catherine Howard—King Henry VIII’s famously doomed fifth wife. Desperate to survive Tudor politics long enough to find her way home, she navigates a dangerously flirtatious king, a persistent courtier, and a jouster with a heart of gold who makes resisting temptation impossible. It sounds like it will be a fun and slightly chaotic adventure. I am really looking forward to the Tudor era and the romance!

The Scoundrel and the Siren by Christy Carlyle

Historical romance is always enjoyable, especially when there’s treasure at stake! When a determined treasure hunter teams up with a fiercely independent woman to uncover a Viking hoard, their shared mission quickly becomes a battle of wills and hearts. Set in the English countryside, The Scoundrel and the Siren is perfect for readers who love rivals-to-lovers tension, high-stakes adventure, and a romance that unfolds alongside it.

April 2026 Romance Books to Read

Enemies to Lovers by Alisha Rai

I’ve enjoyed Alisha Rai’s books before, so I’m looking forward to reading her next release. This rom-com throws Sejal, a clever con artist trying to stay honest, against Krish, a bookish rule-follower posing as an FBI agent to find his missing brother. With danger approaching, an ex on her trail, and a crime family full of secrets, their cross-country search becomes a whirlwind of witty banter, tension, and unexpected chemistry. It sounds so fun!

How to Fake a Southern Gentleman by Mayra Cuevas and Marie Marquardt

This one sounds so unique, and I’m really looking forward to reading it when it’s released. How to Fake a Southern Gentleman is a rom-com inspired by My Fair Lady. It follows Holly, a single mum fighting to keep her job, and Luisa, a journalist determined to expose corruption, as they join forces to take down Atlanta’s most powerful man. Their plan hinges on transforming Eli, a smooth-talking hustler, into the polished “Tripp,” a Southern gentleman who can slip into Grigg’s inner circle, with help from a charming linguistics professor who brings his own romantic complications. It sounds warm, witty, and full of those found family vibes readers crave in books.

The Name Game by Beth O’Leary

Beth O’Leary’s next romance is not to be missed! When a grieving woman and a heartbroken man, both named Charlie Jones, arrive to manage the same farm shop, a fresh start quickly turns into something far more unexpected. Set on a remote island, The Name Game will be full of humour, slow-burn chemistry and charming romance. If you love cozy settings and meet-cutes, as I do, you’ll want to pick this one up!

The Paris Match by Kate Clayborn

A romance set in Paris with an opposites-attract couple? Count me in! Caught between an amicable divorce and a Paris wedding she’s unsure she should attend, Layla is determined to keep the peace—until a well-intentioned comment sends the bride spiralling and puts her directly at odds with the grumpy, protective best man. Forced to team up to soothe pre-wedding doubts, Layla and Griff quickly discover there’s more beneath their bickering than either expected. As Paris stirs up old memories and new feelings, Layla is pushed to confront the heartbreak she’s tried hard to outrun and must decide whether falling for Griff is worth the risk.

The Write Off by Kara McDowell

I’ve read Kara McDowell’s young adult books before, so I’m excited to read one of her adult novels. When Mars returns to her old college campus for a book festival, the last thing she expects is to run into West—the former best friend, muse, and heartbreak she’s spent thirteen years trying to forget. Once creative rivals who blurred the line into something more, their relationship fell apart in a way Mars has never fully recovered from. Now, forced back into each other’s orbit, the memories they thought were buried come rushing back. As past and present collide, Mars begins to wonder whether her second chance isn’t just about boosting her writing career, but about revisiting the love story she never truly finished.

Happy Ending by Chloe Liese

It’s shocking that I haven’t read any books by Chloe Liese yet, but I think this might be my first one! When best friends Thea and Alex get roped into a joint vacation with their exes, they’re forced to revive the fake “we used to date” story they invented out of spite years ago. But what started as a harmless lie has slowly turned into the most meaningful relationship either of them has—and pretending they’re something more only makes it harder to ignore what’s really between them. As the trip blurs every line they’ve drawn, they must decide whether their fake history is actually leading them toward a very real happily ever after.

Stranger Things Have Happened by Kasie West

I love Kasie West’s books, so there’s no way I’m going to miss her next adult romance. When Sutton agrees to fake an engagement with a charming stranger to help her best friend win a bet, she expects chaos—but not the spark that ignites the moment she and Elijah sit down for their first therapy session. What begins as a tipsy favour quickly becomes something deeper, blurring every boundary she thought she could control. As their chemistry grows, Sutton is forced to question what’s real, what’s pretend, and whether this silly plan might actually lead her to the love she didn’t realize she was missing.

While You Were Seething by Charlotte Stein

Charlotte Stein always has such fun book titles, and this one totally reminds me of While You Were Sleeping—which is one of my all-time favourite movies. When Daisy is forced to handle the PR nightmare of her college nemesis, the now-famous romance author Caleb, the last thing she expects is to find herself trapped in a truck with him during a chaotic, chemistry-fuelled book tour. Their fake displays of affection are awkward, and pretending to be the mysterious muse he dedicates all his novels to is quickly blurring every line they swore they’d never cross. As enemies turn into something far more dangerous, Daisy and Caleb must decide whether the spark is fake or the real thing they’ve been avoiding for years.

Boots Beneath Her Bed by Taylor Esposito

If cowboy romance books are your thing, you don’t want to miss Boots Beneath Her Bed. When a mysterious horse trainer with a troubled past takes a job at a ranch, she clashes with the foreman, who is determined to keep his distance. It sounds like the perfect cowboy romance about starting over, with plenty of chemistry, tension and heat. I think this one will be perfect for Elsie Silver fans, which is why I’m excited to pick it up!

Love Overboard by Kandi Steiner

Love Overboard is another romance book set on a boat that I’m excited to read this year. It’s a second-chance romance that follows Ember, a rising star on a Mediterranean superyacht reality show, straight into chaos when her ex joins the crew as the new chef. When cameras capture every tense exchange and lingering spark, their unresolved past becomes impossible to escape. I expect this one to be full of angst, drama, and chemistry. Since I love Below Deck, I’m really looking forward to seeing how those vibes come through in this story.

Seven Bridges for Beau McBride by Amy Barry

I love the McBrides of Montana series, so I am really looking forward to reading the next book. When Beau decides he’s ready for a wife, his sister Junebug takes matters into her own hands—inviting not just one but seven mail-order brides to town to help him choose wisely. But the chaos really kicks off when Ellie, a quiet dreamer who only wanted to follow her best friend west, finds herself competing for the same man—even though she has no interest in marrying him. As Beau tries to navigate the whirlwind of potential brides, he can’t ignore the truth: the only woman he wants is the one who wants nothing to do with him. I am so excited for this one!

The Antiquarian’s Object of Desire by India Holton

The next book in the Love’s Academic series is going to be so much fun! In this historical fantasy rom-com, best friends are forced to pretend to be enemies, with hilarious results. As magical mishaps, academic chaos and ghostly mayhem spiral out of control, long-buried feelings refuse to stay hidden. I’m expecting witty banter, hilarious moments and the slow-burn friends-to-lovers tension readers crave.

The Summer Proposal by Vi Keeland

This sounds like such a fun read for the warmer months! A chance blind date leads to an unforgettable summer in this brand-new hockey romance from Vi Keeland. When instant chemistry turns into an unexpected connection with a professional hockey player, what’s supposed to be a no-strings fling quickly becomes something much harder to walk away from. Packed with flirty banter, swoony moments, and an irresistible athlete hero, this is perfect for readers who love spicy sports romances with an expiration-date twist.

Plays Well with Others by Lauren Blakely

Another Lauren Blakely romance to add to your list for 2026! Plays Well with Others is a friends-to-lovers football romance with fake dating, flirty lessons, and big feelings. When a freshly single woman makes a deal with her pro-football-star best friend to help her get back into dating, what starts as practice quickly turns into something much more real. I can’t wait for the witty banter, swoony romance and cute moments!

May 2026 Romance Books to Read

Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune

Our Perfect Storm is definitely my most-anticipated read of the year, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. When Frankie’s fiancé walks out on the morning of their wedding, her lifelong best friend George shows up with an unexpected plan—take the honeymoon anyway, together. One week in Tofino’s wild beauty becomes their final chance to mend the cracks in their friendship and face the feelings they’ve spent years avoiding. But as old wounds resurface and long-buried longing rises to the surface, Frankie and George must decide whether this trip will finally bring them back to each other or break them for good. I’m a huge fan of Carley Fortune, so I have high hopes for this one—and I have no doubt it will become a new favourite.

The Undergrads: Student Union by Julie Murphy

Searching for a marriage-of-convenience college rom-com? Then you don’t want to miss Julie Murphy’s next book! When a driven student proposes a marriage of convenience to her estranged childhood friend to solve a housing crisis, playing house quickly blurs every line they swore they wouldn’t cross. There’s enemies-to-lovers tension, forced proximity, and plenty of heat, making this a really enjoyable read!

There’s Something Fishy About My Boyfriend by Gloria Duke

There’s always something enjoyable about a funny paranormal rom-com, and I feel like this one will be perfect! It follows a Jersey Shore B&B owner who accidentally rescues a very hot, shirtless merman. When her mysterious guest turns out to be the same man who once saved her and then disappeared, old feelings and sparks resurface quickly. I’m expecting fun banter, whimsical magic, and playful moments!

Burnout Summer by Jenna Ramirez

This cover is stunning, but I’m equally excited for the story inside. When a quarter-life crisis leads to a summer escape by the beach, old friendships, creative dreams, and long-buried feelings resurface. Burnout Summer is a friends-to-lovers romance about starting over, with slow-burn romance and found-family vibes. It’s not to be missed!

First and Forever by Lynn Painter

If Our Perfect Storm is my most-anticipated read, this is a close second. I love Lynn Painter, and I will never miss reading one of her books. When die-hard football fan Duffy accidentally becomes the internet’s villain after shoving the team mascot, the last thing she expects is to end up sparring on live TV with the Coyotes’ star tight end, Connor. Their unexpected chemistry goes viral overnight, leading to a PR-engineered date that Duffy believes is real and Connor wishes actually was. As the fake publicity stunt blurs into something genuine, Connor must figure out how to tell Duffy the truth before he loses the one person he wants. I just can’t wait for the humour and the swoon-worthy romance Lynn always delivers.

The Last Page by Katie Holt

Another bookish romance to add to your TBR this year! When a devoted bookseller is forced to work with the owner’s out-of-touch grandson, their clashing visions and undeniable chemistry make saving the story anything but simple. With workplace tension, a rivals-to-lovers bookstore romance, and a slow-burn love story, it’s the perfect read for readers who love literary settings and sweet happily-ever-afters.

Fever Dream by Elsie Silver

And if First and Forever is a close second for my most-anticipated read, then Fever Dream is a close third. I’m a huge fan of Elsie Silver, and I’m very excited to dive into a brand-new series by her. It features bull rider Emmett, who joins a reality dating show to save his family’s farm—never expecting that the one woman he can’t have will be the one who captures his attention. Julia, sharp, stubborn, and very off-limits as both the show’s location consultant and his rival’s little sister, is the last person he should be sneaking glances at and sharing stolen kisses with. But as their secret chemistry develops into something real, Emmett must choose between the role he’s paid to play and the love he never saw coming. I’m SO excited to pick this one up.

Soon by You by Dahlia Adler

I love Dahlia Adler’s books, so I’m really looking forward to Soon by You. It follows Arielle, a burner-out bridesmaid who is officially over weddings—especially when they keep putting her in the path of Judah, the charming and infuriating wedding singer who seems to judge her at every turn. But soon the snark turns to sparks, and their clashing turns into chemistry neither of them expected. It sounds like it’ll be such a fun rom-com to read!

The Daisy Chain Flower Shop by Laurie Gilmore

I’m behind on the Dream Harbor series, but I’m still looking forward to picking up The Daisy Chain Flower Shop. This small-town romance follows Daisy, who’s tired of her flower shop being labelled “cursed,” especially when it’s scaring off newcomer Elliot, who’s already nursing a bruised heart of his own. When he reluctantly steps into her shop to prepare for a family visit, their unexpected connection turns into a fake relationship that feels more than pretend. As they spend time together and old hurts begin to heal, Daisy and Elliot discover that sometimes love blooms where you least expect it.

The Shippers by Katherine Center

There’s no way I could miss Katherine Center’s next release. How gorgeous is the cover? When JoJo faints at the altar and calls off her wedding, the last person she expects to catch her is Cooper—her estranged childhood best friend who vanished from her life four years ago. Now they’re stuck together at her sister’s cruise-ship wedding, surrounded by matchmakers, old friends, and too many distractions. As secrets surface and old chemistry rekindles, JoJo has to decide whether her true love has been beside her all along. A rom-com set on a cruise ship? Count me in!

Bad Boy Era by Amy Daws

I haven’t read any books by Amy Daws yet, but I really want to read this one! Bad Boy Era follows Everly, who has spent years fixing everyone else’s love life. Her skills are put to the test when her best friend’s infuriating twin brother needs a full image overhaul, not a girlfriend. When he shows up in Colorado for a summer of mountain living, animal rescue shifts, forced proximity takes over, and a fling sounds like the perfect solution for both of them. But as their arrangement starts to feel real, Everly and Decker must decide whether they’re bold enough to chase a future neither of them planned for. I know this is part of a series, but I’m looking forward to picking up this standalone romance!

By the Bootstraps by Alexa Martin

I am so excited for Alexa Martin’s next romance! When romance publicist Luna escapes a career setback by buying a tiny Texas farm, she’s determined to live out her cowboy fantasies. Except the grumpy handyman next door isn’t a cowboy at all, and he hates them. As their sparks turn into undeniable chemistry, Luna discovers that real-life romance, complete with small-town charm and an irresistible neighbour, might just be the perfect fantasy. It sounds like the perfect grumpy/sunshine pairing!

Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan

Annabel Monaghan’s next release sounds like a great story. Dolly has always been the fixer in her family, so helping Stewart out of a very public, humiliating breakup seems second nature—until his fake relationship proposal turns her entire summer upside down. What starts as a mutually beneficial arrangement soon becomes sunset boat rides, porch swings, and the quiet companionship Dolly never thought she’d deserve. As lines blur and her feelings grow, Dolly has to decide whether she can trust someone else with her heart for the first time. It sounds like the perfect story to curl up with as the warmer months arrive!

The Summer of Lost Things by Jenn Bennett

I am a huge fan of Jenn Bennett’s young adult romances, so I am ecstatic to read her adult debut contemporary romance. Paige and Seb were once inseparable treasure-hunting kids, but years later, they’ve traded adventure for real-world problems and haven’t spoken since high school. When Paige uncovers a long-buried clue linked to the legendary Golden Venus, she pulls their old crew back together, and sparks fly as she and Seb are forced into a nostalgic, high-stakes summer search. I love that this is an adventure rom-com, and I truly can’t wait to read another contemporary from Jenn Bennett!

The Summer Share by Jenn McKinlay

The cover immediately caught my attention, but I’m really looking forward to this summer contemporary. When Hannah inherits half of a crumbling beach house, and the other half belongs to grumpy Simon, her summer turns into an unexpected mix of clashing personalities, DIY chaos, and slow-building chemistry. As they restore the cottage and uncover the love story it once held, their own connection starts to feel just as fated. But with Simon determined to sell at summer’s end, Hannah has to hope he’ll see that the life and love they built together are worth keeping. It sounds like the perfect summer book!

June 2026 Romance Books to Read

Romantic Hero by Kirsty Greenwood

I’m so excited to read this magical realism romance! Romantic Hero follows Gertie, a heartbroken romance author who wakes up to find River, the villain of her unfinished novel, very real and in her living room. Suddenly, writer’s block is the least of her problems. Determined to return to his world, River agrees to help Gertie fix her life if she’ll finish his story. But as their unlikely partnership evolves, Gertie has to decide between the ending she thought she wanted and the plot twist that just might be her true happily ever after.

Brighter than Before by Courtney Walsh

Courtney Walsh is one of my favourite Kindle Unlimited authors, so there’s no way I could miss her next romance! After her marriage implodes in spectacular fashion, Claire decides it’s time to rewrite her life—starting with a move to Chicago and a dare-filled checklist of everything she’s been too afraid to want. As she rebuilds from the ground up, Claire finds unexpected joy in new friendships, rediscovered passions, and a charming but off-limits neighbour who makes her wonder whether she’s allowed to choose happiness again. It sounds like a heartfelt, hopeful, cozy romance about second chances and found family. I’m really looking forward to this one!

Twenty Something Else by Stephanie Mack

Twenty Something Else sounds like it’ll be a great read. When a birthday pickleball incident knocks almost-forty-year-old Sutton out cold, she wakes up with the impossible chance to relive her twenties and rewrite the choices that shaped her life. From Hollywood nights to chaotic adventures, Sutton chases the dreams she left behind while discovering what truly matters. It gives me It’s a Wonderful Life and 13 Going on 30 vibes, so I feel like this will be a really warm and witty story about second chances.

Wildcard by Jennifer Iacopelli

I guess I’m really in my sports romance era, since Wildcard is yet another on this list. Wimbledon is calling, and the girls of the Outer Banks Tennis Academy are chasing glory on the tennis courts, under crushing pressure, with their hearts on the line. Indiana is juggling new fame and a secret romance, Penny is risking everything to compete through pain, and Jasmine is fighting to believe in herself when no one else does. It sounds like it’ll be a really fun and enjoyable read.

Good at Being Alive by Elizabeth O’Roark

I’m a huge fan of reality TV, so I’m excited to see its influence on this story. Bex and Theo are total opposites, but to save their families’ failing travel agency, they must pose as a picture-perfect European couple for a reality TV show. From Capri’s villas to the romantic streets of Paris, their on-camera clashes begin to blur into undeniable chemistry as grief, fame, and their buried secrets slowly unravel their defences. When the cameras stop rolling, they’ll need to decide whether their whirlwind marriage is all for show or the start of something real.

In Every Possible Way by Alicia Thompson

I’m really looking forward to Alicia Thompson’s next romance. Jess’s love life is a mess—until a head injury lands her not in the ER but in Ireland, face-to-face with Eamonn, a mechanic who reluctantly becomes her guide. Stranded without a way home, Jess spends forty-eight unforgettable hours wandering Dublin and the Irish countryside, sharing secrets and sparks she never expected. As their connection deepens, she fears she’ll wake up, and Eamonn will disappear like a dream. It sounds like such a great mix of romance and magical realism! And the Irish setting will be perfect!

The Someday Garden by Ashley Poston

There’s no way I could miss Ashley Poston’s next romance. I’m so excited to read this one! Sophie takes a summer job restoring the grounds of the Lilymoor house, only to discover a magical door that never appears in the same place twice—and a secret garden hiding a trapped stranger. As strange forces twist through the estate and Lilymoor’s future grows uncertain, Sophie finds herself falling for both the people and the place she was meant only to visit. I can’t wait to read this!

The Great Outdoors by Kayla Olson

I love being outdoors, so I think this romance will be such a fun read. Sadie signs up for a rugged wilderness trek to prove she’s not the high-maintenance girl her ex claimed she was—only to discover she’s wildly unprepared for life without creature comforts. Her one saving grace is August, the attractive and endlessly capable trek guide who can’t seem to keep his distance. As the spark grows, Sadie starts to wonder whether the great outdoors might be even more appealing with the right man by her side.

Reasons to Be Loved By You by Hannah Brown

I am very excited to read Hannah Brown’s next release, especially since it has a reality TV show element. Reasons to Be Loved By You follows Nikki, a former reality-TV sweetheart who is ready for a quiet summer at her family’s Georgia lake house until she discovers that her brother is marrying her ex-fiancé’s ex, sending her straight into sabotage mode. Teaming up with the bride’s charmingly chaotic brother, Nate, Nikki finds herself juggling schemes, family secrets, and a fling she never saw coming. I expect this to be full of witty banter, heartfelt moments, and the classic rom-com chaos readers crave.

Big Stick Energy by Sarina Bowen

Another sports romance! When an overworked team admin accidentally sends her hottest fantasy straight to her very real team captain’s DMs, Darcy wants to crawl into a pit. But a string of weddings and two messy families push Darcy and Eric into a strategic fake-dating plan that feels less fake with every minute. As the chemistry grows, emotions become dangerously real, so they need to decide whether their temporary arrangement is worth fighting for off the ice. It gives me Vancouver Agitators vibes, and I’m here for it!

Scandal of the Summer by Alexandra Vasti

Looking for another historical romance? When a fed-up debutante crashes a supposedly empty seaside estate and collides with a smuggler posing as staff, their rough start quickly sparks undeniable chemistry. It sounds like it will be full of hilarious banter, silly moments, and enemies-to-lovers energy, making it perfect for readers who love historical romances with heat and chaos.
