December 2025 Books to Read

In Your Dreams by Sarah Adams Book Cover

In Your Dreams by Sarah Adams

Since this comes out at the tail end of 2025, I had to include it on this list. Plus, a new romance by Sarah Adams sounds like the perfect way to start the year! Coming home was never part of Madison’s plan—and neither was falling for her brother’s best friend. As she returns to launch a new restaurant, she finds herself working alongside James, the steady and soft-spoken farmer who has always been quietly in the background. This story is sure to deliver all the warmth and slow-burn charm that make small-town romances irresistible.

Definitely Maybe Not a Detective by Sarah Fox Book Cover

Definitely Maybe Not a Detective by Sarah Fox

As soon as I heard about this one, I was intrigued. It’s a rom-com with a cozy mystery twist that follows Emersyn, whose fake detective agency accidentally gets pulled into solving a real murder. Teaming up with a handsome stranger who agrees to play along, she suddenly finds herself juggling clues, nosy neighbours, and unexpected chemistry. It sounds like the perfect cozy mystery to curl up with this winter and gives off some Finlay Donovan vibes—so I feel like I’m going to love this one!

Drive Me Crazy by Lizzy Dent Book Cover

Drive Me Crazy by Lizzy Dent

I know nothing about Formula 1, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to read F1 romance. Drive Me Crazy follows Chloe, a motivated team principal trying to rebuild her struggling crew, and Matt, the once-legendary driver who also happens to be the childhood crush she’s never quite forgotten. As they fight to salvage their careers and navigate the high-stakes world of racing, their chemistry is as strong as the competition around them. I feel like this will be a fast-paced, swoon-worthy read perfect for sports romance fans.

Meet the Newmans by Jennifer Niven Book Cover

Meet the Newmans by Jennifer Niven

Meet the Newmans sounds like such an engaging read! Set against the changing backdrop of 1964, this novel follows America’s “perfect” TV family as their polished façade begins to crack both on- and off-screen. Secrets, scandals, and shifting cultural expectations push each member of the Newman family to their limits, especially when a mysterious accident forces them to confront the truth behind their carefully constructed image. I have a feeling this will be a complicated and heartfelt story that’s perfect for readers who enjoy messy family dynamics and a bit of behind-the-scenes drama.

The Starseekers by Nicole Glover Book Cover

The Starseekers by Nicole Glover

As soon as I heard this book described as a mix of Indiana Jones and Hidden Figures, I was sold. In this historical fantasy, Cynthia is a brilliant NASA engineer and amateur sleuth who uncovers a deadly mystery threatening the 1960s space race. When a colleague’s accident seems more like murder, she teams up with a charming archaeologist to follow a trail of curses, sabotage, and stolen magic. It sounds like a fun, high-stakes adventure filled with mystery and a touch of romance.

Through Gates of Garnet and Gold by Seanan McGuire Book Cover

Through Gates of Garnet and Gold by Seanan McGuire

A beloved character returns in this eerie addition to the Wayward Children series, where Nancy is forced to return to Eleanor West’s school after a frightening threat begins to consume the Halls of the Dead. With living statues falling to the already dead, she must rally former classmates for a dangerous quest into a world where death knows no boundaries. I have no doubt this will be atmospheric, haunting, and filled with the signature magic I’ve come to love in this series. I can’t wait to pick this one up!

Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone Book Cover

Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone

I can’t wait to see what this pairing does next in their new romance series! This rom-com features Maddie, a new adjunct seeking a fresh start, and Bram, a single dad professor who isn’t looking for any temptations. When Maddie unexpectedly becomes his kids’ nanny, their witty banter quickly sparks irresistible chemistry, blurring all the boundaries they try to set. It has a vibe similar to The Nanny, and I’m excited to read it.

Graceless Heart by Isabel Ibañez Book Cover

Graceless Heart by Isabel Ibañez

I’m really excited for Isabel Ibañez’s adult debut! Set in a dangerous, magic-forbidden Florence, this romantasy follows Ravenna, a sculptor whose hidden power is revealed when she enters a high-stakes contest to save her brother. Captured by an immortal family and drawn into the world of their ruthless heir, she’s forced to navigate dangerous politics, rising tensions, and her own shifting loyalties. It sounds atmospheric and full of moments that will keep me turning the page.

It follows Dani, a librarian with a long-standing crush, who discovers her brother’s best friend is held hostage during a trip to Greece. Forced to fake an engagement to stay alive, she and Theo team up to unravel a mythic mystery tied to the Eye of the Minotaur while dodging smugglers and ancient secrets. It sounds like a fun, fast-paced blend of danger, chemistry, and adventure.

All the Little Houses by May Cobb Book Cover

All the Little Houses by May Cobb

All the Little Houses really caught my attention when I heard about it. Set in a small Texas town in the mid-1980s, this drama follows the Anderson family as their carefully built social kingdom begins to crumble. When a charismatic new family arrives and draws the town’s focus, Charleigh’s ruthless desire to stay on top spirals into something much more dangerous. With Little Fires Everywhere vibes, it seems like it will be a story of ambition, rivalry, and how far people will go to maintain their status.

Anne of a Different Island by Virginia Kantra Book Cover

Anne of a Different Island by Virginia Kantra

If there’s a book inspired by Anne of Green Gables, I have to read it. In this heartfelt story, Anne is a lifelong romantic who’s always shaped her life around the stories she loves—until everything falls apart at once. Returning to her hometown, she’s forced to confront her past, her grief, and the boy she never expected to see again as she relearns how to write her own future. It sounds like such a tender, hopeful story about second chances, and I can’t wait to read it!

Catch Her If You Can by Tessa Bailey Book Cover

Catch Her If You Can by Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey is one of my go-to authors, so it’s no surprise that her next release is on this list. This friends-to-lovers sports romance follows Madden, a Yankees catcher who has spent years quietly loving Eve, the burlesque club owner who keeps him at a distance. When he offers a marriage of convenience to help her care for her sister’s kids, their carefully drawn boundaries quickly blur into something neither of them can ignore. I’m sure this will be full of witty banter and Tessa Bailey’s signature spicy moments.

Cross Your Heart and Hope He Dies by Jenny Elder Moke

Cross Your Heart and Hope He Dies is another cozy mystery with a rom-com twist on this list. It follows Juliette, a powerful publisher who suddenly finds herself the prime suspect when her star author dies, and his explosive memoir disappears. Teaming up with Charlie, a charming doctor who’s far too distracting for her liking, she dives into the secrets and scandals of an elite Seattle country club. It sounds like a funny, twisty story perfect for readers who love cozy mysteries and opposites-attract chemistry. I’m really looking forward to this one!

Gabby Greene Knows Whodunit by Sam Tschida Book Cover

Gabby Greene Knows Whodunit by Sam Tschida

As soon as I heard about this book, it went on my TBR. This spy rom-com follows Gabby, a recently divorced mom who somehow ends up juggling CIA missions, school lunches, and a dangerously charming handler named Markus. When they’re sent undercover as an engaged couple at a suspicious couples retreat, fake romance quickly begins to feel a little too real. It sounds fast-paced and funny, and it seems like another great choice when I want a mix of mystery and romance.

Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy Book Cover

Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Jennette McCurdy’s memoir, so there’s no way I’m going to miss her fiction debut. Half His Age follows Waldo, a seventeen-year-old whose fierce longing to be seen pulls her toward her married creative writing teacher in ways she doesn’t fully understand. I feel like this story will be humorous and raw, with an exploration of power and vulnerability. I’m so curious to see how this one plays out!

My Husband's Wife by Alice Feeney Book Cover

My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney

This year, I read my first book (and then another one) by Alice Feeney, and now I’m eager to read more. This psychological thriller centres on Eden, an artist whose life falls apart when she comes home to find a stranger living in her house—and her husband insisting she’s his real wife. It also follows Birdy, a Londoner drawn to Hope Falls by an inherited home and a life-changing diagnosis, who uncovers secrets that run much deeper than she expected. I really hope this will be an addictive mystery with twists I won’t see coming!

Their already tense partnership becomes even more complicated when they discover they share a mutual ex—the bride-to-be at the wedding they’re planning. I’m expecting lots of witty banter, awkward moments, tension, and rivalry.

Sunk in Love by Heather McBreen Book Cover

Sunk in Love by Heather McBreen

I’m a sucker for second-chance romance books, so I’m really looking forward to Heather McBreen’s next release. Sunk in Love follows Roslyn and Liam, who agree to fake their still-intact marriage during a family cruise—despite quietly heading towards divorce. What begins as a week of pretending soon stirs up old memories, unresolved grief, and the feelings they’ve both tried to bury. I expect this one to be warm, emotional, and full of some cruise-ship charm!

The Re-Do List by Denise Williams Book Cover

The Re-Do List by Denise Williams

I adore Denise Williams, so it’s no surprise her next release is on this list. This sweet romance follows Willow as she rebuilds her confidence after a painful breakup by tackling a “re-do list” of firsts—helped along by her brother’s loyal (and very off-limits) best friend, Deacon. What starts as friendly support quickly turns into real chemistry as their pretend do-overs become genuine, emotional milestones. I just can’t wait to pick this one up!

February 2026 Books to Read

Game, Set, Match by Jennifer Iacopelli Book Cover

Game, Set, Match by Jennifer Iacopelli

Clearly, I’m in my sports era with the number of sports romance books on this list. This tennis rom-com follows Penny, a rising star determined to stay focused as she prepares for the biggest tournament of her career—until she runs into Alex, the charismatic bad boy who once broke her heart. Training side by side at their elite club forces old sparks back to life, no matter how hard Penny tries to keep her game face on. It sounds like it will be a fun story with some great on- and off-court drama.

Just for the Cameras by Meghan Quinn Book Cover

Just for the Cameras by Meghan Quinn

I am a huge fan of Meghan Quinn’s books—they’re my ultimate comfort reads. This playful rom-com brings together Maple, a devoted zookeeper with zero patience for egos, and Graydon, a famously grumpy football star forced into a PR stunt he wants nothing to do with. Their fake-friendly partnership quickly turns into witty banter, unexpected chemistry, and plenty of awkward on-camera moments. I just know I’m going to love this one!

Love and Other Brain Experiments by Hannah Brohm Book Cover

Love and Other Brain Experiments by Hannah Brohm

There’s nothing better than a STEM rom-com, and I have high hopes for this one. Love and Other Brain Experiments follows Frances, a neuroscientist eager to revive her stalled career at a high-profile conference hosted by her wildly successful ex. When her rivalry with fellow researcher Lewis is mistaken for romantic tension, a fake-dating scheme suddenly becomes her most promising strategy. It sounds like a smart, humorous, and charming rivals-to-lovers story about discovering what you truly want in life, perfect for fans of Ali Hazelwood and Christina Lauren.

One and Only by Maurene Goo

I’m really looking forward to Maurene Goo’s adult debut. Blending In Five Years vibes with a millennial Joy Luck Club feel, this rom-com follows Cassia, a matchmaker who can find everyone’s soulmate except her own. After a spontaneous fling with a younger man surprises her with real sparks, Cass is stunned when he introduces her to his boss, Daniel, the fated love she’s been searching for over the past decade. As family secrets come to light and destiny clashes with desire, Cass must decide whether to trust fate or finally choose her own path.

Skate It Till You Make It sounds like the perfect winter rom-com to cozy up with. It follows Ari, a new team captain trying to stay focused during the biggest competition of her career, and Drew, a risk-averse photographer seeking a fresh start. After a one-night connection they never expected to revisit, fate throws them back together in the Swiss Alps—and suddenly fake dating seems like the easiest way to navigate nosy families, messy exes, and mounting pressure. I expect it to be charming, cozy, and full of chemistry.

The Wild Card by Stephanie Archer Book Cover

The Wild Card by Stephanie Archer

Admittedly, I’m behind on the Vancouver Storm series, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to read the next release. The Wild Card pairs Jordan, the reluctant new staff member with the Vancouver Storm team, with Tate, the beloved coach and a single dad known for being impossible to dislike—except by her. Forced to work together to save the team, their dynamic shifts as Tate’s gentle, protective side begins to emerge in ways Jordan never expected. With sizzling chemistry and their careers at stake, it’s a tempting risk neither can ignore. How fun does this one sound?

I love a good small-town romance, and I feel like this one will be so enjoyable. Forced to team up to pull off the town’s Honey Festival, their clashing personalities slowly turn into flirtation, trust, and chemistry neither expected. Their weekly clashes shift into witty banter, sparks and more chemistry than either planned on. It sounds like it will be so fun and full of some Manhattan drama—I can’t wait for this one!

I expect it to be a sweet and tender opposites-attract story that shows the importance of taking a chance on something real.

Royal Spin by Omid Scobie and Robin Benway Book Cover

Royal Spin by Omid Scobie and Robin Benway

Royal Spin sounds so intriguing—especially since I love things with a Royal twist. This rom-com follows Lauren, an American communications professional recruited to help improve the royal family’s image—only to discover that Buckingham Palace comes with more secrets, obstacles, and unexpected entanglements than any press briefing prepared her for. Between navigating protocol, dodging scandals, and catching feelings for both a flirtatious reporter and a charming duke, Lauren’s picture-perfect career quickly turns delightfully chaotic. It kind of gives me The Royals vibes, and I’m here for it!

I read the first book in the Veronica Speedwell series this year and loved it, so even though I’m behind in the series, I definitely can’t wait to get to this one. This mystery sends Veronica and Stoker into one of their most chilling investigations yet when two men linked to a secret society turn up dead—one drained of blood, the other staged as a suicide. I feel like it’s been forever since I read Get a Life, Chloe Brown. This new release by Talia Hibbert is the first in a trilogy and follows Ruth, a guarded outcast in her small town, and Evan, a warm and steady ex-military neighbour who refuses to be pushed away. As his patience slowly breaks through her defences, their unlikely connection becomes something Ruth never thought she deserved—until old rumours resurface and threaten the trust they’ve built. In Her Own League by Liz Tomforde Book Cover

In Her Own League by Liz Tomforde

Surprisingly, I haven’t read anything by Liz Tomforde yet—but I think this might be my first! This slow-burning baseball romance follows Reese, the first female team owner in the league, who’s fighting for respect in an environment eager to see her slip, and Emmett, the team’s dedicated field manager, who challenges her at every turn. Long hours and shared pressure soon turn their conflicts into chemistry, revealing the vulnerability beneath Reese’s icy exterior. The main problem is that he’s the one-night stand who disappeared before sunrise, and now he keeps showing up to rescue her at every turn. Daughter of Egypt by Marie Benedict Book Cover

Daughter of Egypt by Marie Benedict

This one is outside what I normally read, but there’s something about it that’s really grabbing my attention. Daughter of Egypt is a historical novel that weaves together the stories of two brave women separated by thousands of years—Lady Evelyn Herbert, whose determination helped discover Tutankhamun’s tomb, and Hatshepsut, the extraordinary pharaoh who was almost erased from history. As Evelyn becomes obsessed with finding Hatshepsut’s lost resting place, she gets caught up in political conflicts, secret motives, and a legacy that challenges everything she’s been taught to protect. I’m really curious about this one!

The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez Book Cover

The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez

There’s no way I could miss Abby Jimenez’s next book. In The Night We Met, Larissa reflects on one quick decision—the ride home she didn’t take—that changed everything. Now she and Chris, the man she might have chosen, share a close friendship, a chaotic rescue pup, and an easy chemistry she can’t quite ignore—despite dating his best friend. I just know it will be heartfelt, humorous, and emotional, just like her previous books. I can’t wait to read this one!

This Will Be Interesting by E.B. Asher Book Cover

This Will Be Interesting by E.B. Asher

There’s something about a cozy fantasy that excites me—especially one that is partly written by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka. In this companion to This Will Be Fun, resurrected hero Galwell wants a quiet life after saving the realm, but becomes involved in a chaotic quest involving an assassin sent to kill him, a truth-seeking reporter, and an ex-girlfriend-turned-queen determined to rescue him. As this unlikely team races across a fantasy world to stop the assassination, Galwell enforces one firm rule: no falling in love with your questmates. Unfortunately, magic, danger, and chemistry have other plans. How fun does this sound?

In My Tudor Era by Kate Bromley Book Cover

In My Tudor Era by Kate Bromley

Time travel is always something that intrigues me in books. This delightful time-travel romance follows Lily, a modern graduate student who suddenly wakes up in the body of Catherine Howard—King Henry VIII’s famously doomed fifth wife. Desperate to survive Tudor politics long enough to find her way home, she navigates a dangerously flirtatious king, a persistent courtier, and a jouster with a heart of gold who makes resisting temptation impossible. It sounds like it will be a fun and slightly chaotic adventure. I am really looking forward to the Tudor era and the romance!

April 2026 Books to Read

American Fantasy by Emma Straub Book Cover

American Fantasy by Emma Straub

As soon as I heard about American Fantasy, I immediately added it to my TBR. It follows Annie, a newly divorced empty-nester who reluctantly boards a ‘90s boyband-themed cruise—only to rediscover a forgotten, joy-filled version of herself. Swept up in old music and thousands of women reliving their youth, she forms an unexpected bond with one of the band members and begins to imagine new possibilities in her life. It sounds like it will be heartfelt, funny, and full of big feelings and nostalgia. I am also really looking forward to the cruise setting.

Enemies to Lovers by Alisha Rai Book Cover

Enemies to Lovers by Alisha Rai

I’ve enjoyed Alisha Rai’s books before, so I’m looking forward to reading her next release. This rom-com throws Sejal, a clever con artist trying to stay honest, against Krish, a bookish rule-follower posing as an FBI agent to find his missing brother. With danger approaching, an ex on her trail, and a crime family full of secrets, their cross-country search becomes a whirlwind of witty banter, tension, and unexpected chemistry. It sounds so fun!

How to Fake a Southern Gentleman by Mayra Cuevas and Marie Marquardt Book Cover

How to Fake a Southern Gentleman by Mayra Cuevas and Marie Marquardt

This one sounds so unique, and I’m really looking forward to reading it when it’s released. How to Fake a Southern Gentleman is a rom-com inspired by My Fair Lady. It follows Holly, a single mum fighting to keep her job, and Luisa, a journalist determined to expose corruption, as they join forces to take down Atlanta’s most powerful man. Their plan hinges on transforming Eli, a smooth-talking hustler, into the polished “Tripp,” a Southern gentleman who can slip into Grigg’s inner circle, with help from a charming linguistics professor who brings his own romantic complications. It sounds warm, witty, and full of those found family vibes readers crave in books.

The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett Book Cover

The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett

It’s been years since I read The Help, but I’m very intrigued by Kathryn Stockett’s new release. Set in 1933 Oxford, Mississippi, this historical novel follows three women—an orphan determined to keep her spirit alive, a sharp-tongued sister fighting for her family, and a wanderer with more grit than luck—whose lives cross at precisely the right (and wrong) moment. Facing Depression-era hardships and a society eager to keep them small, they hatch a daring plan that sparks an unexpected sisterhood. The Calamity Club sounds like a story that celebrates friendship, risk, resilience, and the women who refuse to stay quiet. I’m really looking forward to this one.

The Ending Writes Itself by Evelyn Clarke Book Cover

The Ending Writes Itself by Evelyn Clarke

Locked-room mysteries always remind me of Agatha Christie, so I definitely want to try this one. When six struggling authors are summoned to a remote Scottish island, they expect to learn from reclusive literary legend Arthur Fletch—not to find his dead body and an unfinished manuscript that could change everything. With seventy-two hours to craft the perfect ending and revive their stalled careers, each writer is desperate for the life-changing prize at stake. But as tensions rise and secrets emerge, it becomes clear that someone on the island has their own twist planned. The Ending Writes Itself sounds like the perfect book for fans of Knives Out and twisty mysteries where everyone is a suspect.

The Paris Match by Kate Clayborn Book Cover

The Paris Match by Kate Clayborn

A romance set in Paris with an opposites-attract couple? Count me in! Caught between an amicable divorce and a Paris wedding she’s unsure she should attend, Layla is determined to keep the peace—until a well-intentioned comment sends the bride spiralling and puts her directly at odds with the grumpy, protective best man. Forced to team up to soothe pre-wedding doubts, Layla and Griff quickly discover there’s more beneath their bickering than either expected. As Paris stirs up old memories and new feelings, Layla is pushed to confront the heartbreak she’s tried hard to outrun and must decide whether falling for Griff is worth the risk.

The Write Off by Kara McDowell Book Cover

The Write Off by Kara McDowell

I’ve read Kara McDowell’s young adult books before, so I’m excited to read one of her adult novels. When Mars returns to her old college campus for a book festival, the last thing she expects is to run into West—the former best friend, muse, and heartbreak she’s spent thirteen years trying to forget. Once creative rivals who blurred the line into something more, their relationship fell apart in a way Mars has never fully recovered from. Now, forced back into each other’s orbit, the memories they thought were buried come rushing back. As past and present collide, Mars begins to wonder whether her second chance isn’t just about boosting her writing career, but about revisiting the love story she never truly finished.

Cherry Baby by Rainbow Rowell Book Cover

Cherry Baby by Rainbow Rowell

A new Rainbow Rowell book to look forward to in 2026! Cherry never asked to be the inspiration for her husband’s hit webcomic, let alone the exaggerated “Baby” millions now recognize on sight. While Tom chases fame in Hollywood, Cherry is left in Omaha picking up the pieces of a life that no longer feels like hers. But one impulsive night out changes everything. When she runs into Russ, an old friend from the version of herself she liked best, Cherry is reminded of who she was before the spotlight twisted her image—and who she might still become. As Russ gently steps back into her orbit, Cherry begins to question what she wants, what she deserves, and whether it’s finally time to rewrite her life on her own terms.

Happy Ending by Chloe Liese Book Cover

Happy Ending by Chloe Liese

It’s shocking that I haven’t read any books by Chloe Liese yet, but I think this might be my first one! When best friends Thea and Alex get roped into a joint vacation with their exes, they’re forced to revive the fake “we used to date” story they invented out of spite years ago. But what started as a harmless lie has slowly turned into the most meaningful relationship either of them has—and pretending they’re something more only makes it harder to ignore what’s really between them. As the trip blurs every line they’ve drawn, they must decide whether their fake history is actually leading them toward a very real happily ever after.

Pomona Afton Can Totally Catch a Killer by Bellamy Rose Book Cover

Pomona Afteon Can Totally Catch a Killer by Bellamy Rose

As you can probably already tell, I enjoy cozy mysteries—and I’m excited for the next book in the Pomona Afton series. Pomona is set on pulling off the perfect gala for her new charity, despite snooty donors, family chaos, and a boyfriend who never quite fits in. But when one of her biggest supporters turns up dead in the middle of the party, Pomona’s sparkling event turns into a complete disaster. To save her foundation (and her reputation), she’ll need to slip back into sleuth mode and find the killer before everything she’s built crumbles.

Stranger Things Have Happened by Kasie West Book Cover

Stranger Things Have Happened by Kasie West

I love Kasie West’s books, so there’s no way I’m going to miss her next adult romance. When Sutton agrees to fake an engagement with a charming stranger to help her best friend win a bet, she expects chaos—but not the spark that ignites the moment she and Elijah sit down for their first therapy session. What begins as a tipsy favour quickly becomes something deeper, blurring every boundary she thought she could control. As their chemistry grows, Sutton is forced to question what’s real, what’s pretend, and whether this silly plan might actually lead her to the love she didn’t realize she was missing.

We Would Never Tell by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau Book Cover

We Would Never Tell by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau

The setting of this story immediately grabbed my attention! Set against the glittering chaos of the Cannes Film Festival, three overlooked women suddenly find themselves thrust into the spotlight when a million-dollar necklace disappears, and a dead body appears. As the world’s brightest stars celebrate themselves on the Riviera, these outsiders become the prime suspects in a scandal too big to ignore. I love that it seems like everyone has something to hide in this story, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how this mystery unfolds.

While You Were Seething by Charlotte Stein Book Cover

While You Were Seething by Charlotte Stein

Charlotte Stein always has such fun book titles, and this one totally reminds me of While You Were Sleeping—which is one of my all-time favourite movies. When Daisy is forced to handle the PR nightmare of her college nemesis, the now-famous romance author Caleb, the last thing she expects is to find herself trapped in a truck with him during a chaotic, chemistry-fuelled book tour. Their fake displays of affection are awkward, and pretending to be the mysterious muse he dedicates all his novels to is quickly blurring every line they swore they’d never cross. As enemies turn into something far more dangerous, Daisy and Caleb must decide whether the spark is fake or the real thing they’ve been avoiding for years.

Love Overboard by Kandi Stein Book Cover

Love Overboard by Kandi Steiner

Love Overboard is another romance book set on a boat that I’m excited to read this year. It’s a second-chance romance that follows Ember, a rising star on a Mediterranean superyacht reality show, straight into chaos when her ex joins the crew as the new chef. When cameras capture every tense exchange and lingering spark, their unresolved past becomes impossible to escape. I expect this one to be full of angst, drama, and chemistry. Since I love Below Deck, I’m really looking forward to seeing how those vibes come through in this story.

Seven Brides for Beau McBride by Amy Barry Book Cover

Seven Brides for Beau McBride by Amy Barry

I love the McBrides of Montana series, so I am really looking forward to reading the next book. When Beau decides he’s ready for a wife, his sister Junebug takes matters into her own hands—inviting not just one but seven mail-order brides to town to help him choose wisely. But the chaos really kicks off when Ellie, a quiet dreamer who only wanted to follow her best friend west, finds herself competing for the same man—even though she has no interest in marrying him. As Beau tries to navigate the whirlwind of potential brides, he can’t ignore the truth: the only woman he wants is the one who wants nothing to do with him. I am so excited for this one!

Ms. Mebel Goes Back to the Chopping Block by Jesse Q. Sutanto Book Cover

Ms. Mebel Goes Back to the Chopping Block by Jesse Q. Sutanto

I loved the Vera Wong mysteries by Jesse Q. Sutanto, so I’m looking forward to this new cozy story from her. When sixty-three-year-old Mebel’s husband leaves her for their private chef, she hatches a bold plan to win him back by enrolling in culinary school—only to accidentally end up in a small English village instead of Paris. Surrounded by skeptical twenty-somethings and unexpected challenges, Mebel slowly discovers a version of herself she’s never truly met. With a new friendship and a fresh sense of purpose, she realizes her next chapter might not be about getting her husband back, but about getting herself back. I can’t wait for the cozy vibes, the delightful writing and the fun characters.

This Weekend Doesn't End Well for Anyone by Catherine Mack Book Cover

This Weekend Doesn’t End Well for Anyone by Catherine Mack

I’m behind on The Vacation Mysteries series, but I’m still excited to read this one when it comes out. Eleanor is desperate for a relaxing escape, but when she arrives at a Bahamas mystery writing conference and finds a dead body in her hotel room, her vacation mood ends immediately. With her boyfriend, ex-lover, sister, and a whole list of rival authors all staying under one roof, everyone is a suspect, and everyone knows how to get away with murder. To get through the weekend, Eleanor has to swap her sun hat for her detective skills once again — because this time, the killer might be closer than she thinks. This one sounds like it will be a great read, and I can’t wait to catch up to it!

A Zoom with a View by Jess Cannon

The cover and title immediately caught my eye, but the story inside promises to be a fantastic read. With a loved one accused of the crime and a very handsome detective back in her orbit, Leo gets pulled into a small-town mystery where everyone has something to say. As Fourth of July chaos unfolds and family secrets come to light, she will have to uncover the truth quickly. It sounds like the perfect mix of mystery and romance.

Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune Book Cover

Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune

Our Perfect Storm is definitely my most-anticipated read of the year, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. When Frankie’s fiancé walks out on the morning of their wedding, her lifelong best friend George shows up with an unexpected plan—take the honeymoon anyway, together. One week in Tofino’s wild beauty becomes their final chance to mend the cracks in their friendship and face the feelings they’ve spent years avoiding. I’m a huge fan of Carley Fortune, so I have high hopes for this one—and I have no doubt it will become a new favourite.

First and Forever by Lynn Painter Book Cover

First and Forever by Lynn Painter

If Our Perfect Storm is my most-anticipated read, this is a close second. I love Lynn Painter, and I will never miss reading one of her books. When die-hard football fan Duffy accidentally becomes the internet’s villain after shoving the team mascot, the last thing she expects is to end up sparring on live TV with the Coyotes’ star tight end, Connor. Their unexpected chemistry goes viral overnight, leading to a PR-engineered date that Duffy believes is real and Connor wishes actually was. As the fake publicity stunt blurs into something genuine, Connor must figure out how to tell Duffy the truth before he loses the one person he wants. I just can’t wait for the humour and the swoon-worthy romance Lynn always delivers.

And if First and Forever is a close second for my most-anticipated read, then Fever Dream is a close third. I’m a huge fan of Elsie Silver, and I’m very excited to dive into a brand-new series by her. It features bull rider Emmett, who joins a reality dating show to save his family’s farm—never expecting that the one woman he can’t have will be the one who captures his attention. Julia, sharp, stubborn, and very off-limits as both the show’s location consultant and his rival’s little sister, is the last person he should be sneaking glances at and sharing stolen kisses with. But as their secret chemistry develops into something real, Emmett must choose between the role he’s paid to play and the love he never saw coming. I’m SO excited to pick this one up.

When he reluctantly steps into her shop to prepare for a family visit, their unexpected connection turns into a fake relationship that feels more than pretend. As they spend time together and old hurts begin to heal, Daisy and Elliot discover that sometimes love blooms where you least expect it.

The Night Bus by Tessa Bickers Book Cover

This one sounds so fun! When Daisy’s early-morning bus ride unexpectedly connects her with Tom, the quiet stranger who clings to an old copy of Orlando, she’s drawn into the mystery behind the book he can’t stop reading. What starts as a shared walk through London turns into a literary quest that leads them beyond the pages. As they spend more time together, Daisy starts to realize the answers they’re searching for may not be in the book at all, but in each other. I really do enjoy rom-coms with a magical realism twist, and this one sounds like it’ll be a great read!

When he shows up in Colorado for a summer of mountain living, animal rescue shifts, forced proximity takes over, and a fling sounds like the perfect solution for both of them.
