April 2026 Reading Wrap Up
How are we already at the end of April? I feel like I blinked and the entire month flew by, and now it’s time to share my April 2026 reading wrap-up! Spring is finally showing—though we’ve had some really weird weather lately, I’m determined to soak up every bit of sunshine I can get.
April was a bit of a mixed bag for reading. Life felt busy again, and while I didn’t read a ton, I still managed to finish a few books—including a re-read of a series I love, a couple of romances, and a book club read.
Even when my reading isn’t at its peak, I always love seeing the variety in what I pick up each month. Whether it’s comfort re-reads or something new for book club, it’s all part of the reading experience!
I’m hoping May brings a bit more consistency to my reading routine, but for now, here’s everything I read in April 2026!

April 2026 Reading Wrap Up

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas. I wrapped up the original ACOTAR trilogy this month, and I’m so glad I decided to revisit this series. It was such a fun experience returning to a world that sparked my love of fantasy in the first place. While it took me a bit longer to get through this one (life definitely got in the way), I still really enjoyed the journey. I’m planning to pick up A Court of Frost and Starlight and A Court of Silver Flames closer to the release of the sixth book—and I’m already looking forward to being back in this world!
First and Forever by Lynn Painter. If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ll know I never pass up a Lynn Painter release—and this one did not disappoint. I was thrilled to get an advance copy, and it delivered. It’s fun, entertaining, and full of the humour and banter I’ve come to expect from her, but it also has so much heart. I especially loved the found-family vibes woven throughout the story. This was such a joy to read, and you can definitely keep an eye out for my full review coming soon! The Taylor and Travis vibes were a total bonus, too!

The Bodyguard Affair by Amy Lea. I’ve been wanting to pick this up since it came out in December, and I’m so glad I finally did. Amy Lea is always a reliable, enjoyable read for me, and this one was no exception. I loved the Ottawa setting and all the Canadian references—they added such a fun, familiar touch. While it didn’t completely blow me away, it was a cute, sweet romance that was exactly what I needed at the time.
The Astral Library by Kate Quinn. This was my book club pick for April, and I’ll be honest—I didn’t go into it with high expectations. I’ve struggled with Kate Quinn’s books in the past, and unfortunately, this one confirmed that her writing might not be for me. The premise sounded interesting and full of potential, but I found myself bored and disconnected from the story. It just didn’t work for me, and it ended up being my least favourite read of the month.
