The epic third novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas.
Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s actions and learn what she can about the invading king threatening to bring her land to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit. One slip could bring doom not only for Feyre, but for everything—and everyone—she holds dear.
As war bears down upon them all, Feyre endeavors to take her place amongst the High Fae of the land, balancing her struggle to master her powers—both magical and political—and her love for her court and family. Amidst these struggles, Feyre and Rhysand must decide whom to trust amongst the cunning and lethal High Lords, and hunt for allies in unexpected places.
In this thrilling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Sarah J. Maas, the fate of Feyre’s world is at stake as armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy it.
A Court of Wings and Ruin Book Review
When I first started the ACOTAR series, I had no idea I was about to go on such a wild ride. I also didn’t expect these books to become some of my all-time favourites!
The A Court of Thorns and Roses series follows Feyre, a young woman whose life changes forever after she kills a wolf in the woods and is taken to the land of the fae to atone for it. What begins as a dangerous bargain quickly turns into an epic fantasy romance filled with magic, political tension, and unforgettable characters.
A Court of Wings and Ruin picks up after the events of A Court of Mist and Fury and brings Feyre’s original story to its conclusion. While A Court of Mist and Fury is definitely still my favourite book in the series, I really appreciated how this installment ties everything together.
The characters remain one of the strongest parts of this series. I honestly can’t believe this is the final book in the trilogy because I just wanted more time with them. Through every moment of heartbreak, happiness, and betrayal, these characters draw you in completely. They’ve easily become some of my favourite literary characters—especially my sweet, sweet Rhys.
As always, Sarah J. Maas’s writing is incredible. Her storytelling is so immersive and emotional, and this book is no exception. There are many moments that make you feel everything—anger, shock, sadness and joy. I also love how her writing pulls you so deeply into the story.
One of the things I appreciated most about A Court of Wings and Ruin is how it brings the story full circle. The plot feels epic, with high stakes and emotional payoffs that make the conclusion satisfying. It ties together the main storylines while still leaving room for more in the world of Prythian (which I’m all for!!).
I still can’t believe this part of the series is finished. It went by so fast, and now I feel a bit envious of anyone experiencing it for the first time.
Overall, A Court of Wings and Ruin is a strong and satisfying ending to the ACOTAR trilogy. If you’ve been following Feyre’s journey, this book offers an emotional and action-packed ending that makes the series unforgettable.
I can’t wait to pick up A Court of Frost and Starlight when it releases!
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5)
