After finishing A Court of Thorns and Roses, I knew I would enjoy the sequel. But I didn’t expect to love it this much! A Court of Mist and Fury might honestly be one of the best books I’ve ever read!

This second instalment in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas begins shortly after the events of the first book. The story continues to follow Feyre as she navigates the aftermath of everything she endured and starts to uncover more about herself and the magical world she now lives in.

Even though I loved Feyre in the first book, her character only improves. She develops throughout this story—becoming stronger, more confident, and truly embracing her own identity. Watching her grow made me appreciate her even more, and I can honestly say she has become one of my favourite fantasy heroines.

The other characters in this book are fantastic as well. Rhysand will always be my favourite—I seriously adore him. But adding new characters really enriches the story. Mor, Cassian, Azriel, and Amren are all amazing additions, and their banter with each other brings lots of life and humour into the narrative. The romance is also intensified in this book, and it’s so satisfying!!

I also enjoyed getting a deeper look at the Night Court in this book. Experiencing this part of the world through these characters was fascinating, and it adds a whole new layer to the story and the larger world of Prythian.

The plot truly expands in this sequel, and the story becomes more captivating. There’s more action, more emotional depth, and a growing sense that everything is building towards something much bigger. It really sets the stage perfectly for what promises to be an epic continuation of the series.

Another thing I continue to love about this series is Sarah J. Maas’s writing. Her storytelling is vivid and immersive, making it easy to experience every emotion alongside the characters. One moment you’re laughing, the next you’re heartbroken—and all the while, you can’t stop turning the pages.

While I already recommended the ACOTAR series after reading A Court of Thorns and Roses, this book takes the story to a whole new level. It enriches the world, strengthens the characters, and increases the stakes in the best possible way.

Overall, if you’re looking for a high fantasy romance featuring unforgettable characters, emotional moments, and an immersive magical world, A Court of Mist and Fury is definitely worth reading. I’m really looking forward to continuing the series and seeing how everything unfolds in the next book!
