My Top Ten Favourite Books of 2022

It’s hard to believe another year of reading has come to a close! But, it was a fantastic year of reading — so I’m sharing my top ten favourite books of 2022.

While I didn’t read as many books this year as I have in the past, I still found some great reads.

With a great mix of young adult and adult books, I’m really happy with my reading year. I reached my goal of reading 50 books this year and I also hit some other reading goals I had. I completed 25 prompts for the Popsugar reading challenge and I completed 11 prompts for the Buzzwordation challenge.

If you’d like to follow along on my reading journey for 2023, be sure to follow my account on Goodreads! I’m hoping to read 50 books again and hopefully complete more prompts for both the Popsugar reading challenge and the Buzzwordathon. I also hope to complete the A to Z reading challenge!

With such a great reading year, I’m excited to share my top ten favourite books of 2022.

Top Ten Favourite Books of 2022

Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter. I just adore Lynn Painter! Accidentally Amy is such a fun and entertaining read. It’s full of humour and witty banter — and the romance is perfection. At this point, I would read Lynn’s grocery list and still love it. I highly recommend picking this book up if you haven’t read it yet! As a bonus, it’s available to read on Kindle Unlimited.

Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare. I feel like this wouldn’t be a true top ten list without a Cassandra Clare book included. While I didn’t get to read it in 2021, I finally found the time to read it in 2022. I loved every minute of it — I just love these characters and the storyline so much. I can’t wait to find out what happens when the final book releases at the end of the month.

Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q Sutanto. I can’t believe it took me so long to finally read this book! Dial A for Aunties was such a fun read. The Aunties are hilarious and I love their silly antics. I also love Jesse Q Sutanto’s writing so much — I can’t wait to read Four Aunties and a Wedding sometime this year.

Faking Christmas by Cindy Steel. I can’t believe a Christmas book is making my list this year but this book was delightful. I adored every minute of this enemies-to-lovers, fake dating Christmas romance. The writing was perfection and the characters and their banter was the best! I ended up reading two other books in the Christmas Escape series and they were both equally amazing! As a bonus, Faking Christmas and the other books in the Christmas Escape series are available to read on Kindle Unlimited.

Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter. Another Lynn Painter book on this list and I’m not mad about it! Her debut adult rom-com was such a fun read. I always find myself turning the pages with her books, constantly wanting more. I can’t wait to read her next rom-com, The Love Wager — I have a feeling I’m going to love it!

Saint by Adrienne Young. Adrienne Young has definitely solidified herself in my list of favourite authors. Her books are captivating to me and I just love the worlds she creates. I’m so glad she finally wrote a book about Saint and Isolde. Their story is everything I wanted and more and I’m so excited to see if she decides to continue inside the Fable world.

Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young. Another book by Adrienne Young! I’m so glad I loved her adult debut. From the minute I started, the story and plot drew me in. I also loved the mysterious setting and characters. I’m so excited to read her next adult book, The Unmaking of June Farrow!

The Do-Over by Lynn Painter. The third (and final) book by Lynn Painter on my favourites list. I’m so glad that this year was the year of Lynn Painter. I honestly would recommend any of her books — they’re all enjoyable. The pop culture references, the swoony romance and the witty banter is always perfection!

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Another book on this list that I’m kicking myself for not reading sooner. I knew I was going to love this book but I also had to wait until my mood was right to read it. It’s heartwrenching and heartwarming at the same time and I just loved it. I can’t wait to read more of Angie Thomas’ books in the future.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo in December to complete a prompt for the Buzzwordathon challenge. I’m so glad I did! I absolutely love this book and can definitely see myself re-reading it in the future. Now I want to pick up more of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books — and I hope to see an adaptation of this book one day!

  1. I’m so happy to see CHAIN OF IRON and THE HATE U GIVE on your list. I still haven’t started The Last Hours trilogy yet, but I adore Cassandra Clare so I’m it’s going to be awesome!. THE HATE U GIVE made a huge impact on me when I read it a few years back. It’s such as great story of love, friendship, and acceptance.

  2. Dial A for Aunties was so funny, the second one is good but just didn’t leave me laughing quite as much. I’m looking forward to her new one this year. I want to read Spells for Forgetting too.
