May 2025 Reading Wrap Up

We’re officially a week into June, which makes it the perfect time to share my May 2025 reading wrap-up!

I sound like a broken record at this point, but once again, my reading was really slow this month. I’m really hoping that since summer break is starting soon, I’ll be able to catch up on my reading (and my goodreads goal!).

I just got back from an incredible three-week trip, visiting England, Ireland and Scotland. So I guess it makes sense that my reading was a little slower this month.

Either way, I managed to get in a few good reads, and I’m looking forward to seeing what I get up to in June!

I read three books in May — two backlist titles and one upcoming release. While it was another slow month, I really enjoyed each book this month, and they each helped me relax after long travel days.

May 2025 Reading Wrap Up

Reality Check by Mike Sorrentino. This was such a random book for me to pick up this month, but I was curious to read about Mike’s life. I watched the original Jersey Shore series when it aired, and I’ve been keeping up with the reboot, Family Vacation, so I was curious to hear Mike’s story from his perspective. I enjoyed aspects of this book, but it was a very repetitive book. I wanted more details about his Jersey Shore days, so that was a bit of a disappointment. Overall, it was an okay read, and I’m glad I picked it up. But it’s not a new favourite memoir.

Beyond the Wand by Tom Felton. I’ve wanted to read Tom Felton’s memoir for so long, and I’m glad I finally picked it up. I really enjoyed it! I am such a TV and movie fan, so I love getting behind-the-scenes snippets of what it’s like to be an actor. I loved reading about Tom’s life and his family, there are so many humorous moments. There are so many surprising moments, too! His friendship with Emma Watson is incredibly sweet, and I loved hearing about the progression of their friendship from children to adults. Her introduction to the book is a sweet testament to their friendship, and it shines through both of their words.

I also loved hearing about his time on the Harry Potter set — he pulls back the curtain on so many moments from his time with other actors to the behind-the-scenes movie magic tricks (which is truly my bread and butter, I loved these sections of the book!). It’s a memoir filled with humour and heart, and I really enjoyed it.

Maid for Each Other by Lynn Painter. I always love picking up a new book by Lynn Painter. While you’ll have to wait for my full review, coming closer to the release date, to hear all my thoughts, I really enjoyed this one. I love Lynn’s witty banter, the adorable characters she creates, and the swoony romance. She delivers each and every time and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!
