If you’re anything like me, you’re looking forward to watching as many Christmas movies as possible. So today, I’m sharing a helpful guide for finding the best new Christmas movies to watch in 2021.
No matter what kind of Christmas movie you’re looking for, there’s something for everyone on this list. Whether you want to tune in to Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas or watch this year’s most anticipated holiday movie release on Netflix, this list will point you in the right direction.
There are so many incredible new Christmas movies to watch in 2021. I’m mostly focusing on new movies from Hallmark (or the W Network in Canada) and Lifetime. I’m also featuring new Christmas movies on streaming services like Netflix and Disney+.
I’ve sorted all the new holiday movies to watch in 2021 by their network or streaming service, to make it easy for you to find what you’re looking for.
A couple of other new Christmas movies worth noting are The Housewives of the North Pole, starring Kyle Richards and streaming on Peacock on December 9th and 8-Bit Christmas, starring Neil Patrick Harris, streaming on HBO Max on November 24th.

New Christmas Movies on Netflix in 2021
The Claus Family • November 1st: The Dutch-Belgian film is making its arrival on Netflix screens. The movie follows Jules, a young boy who isn’t a fan of the holidays. After he discovers his Grandfather is Santa Claus, he helps to deliver presents and save Christmas. A sequel is already in the works!
Love Hard • November 5th: Starring Nina Dobrev, Jimmy O Yang and Darren Barnet, this is sure to be a new fan favourite. The film follows Natalie, who falls for a someone online. Once she suprises him for Christmas, she discovers she’s been catfished. Be sure to watch the trailer for this holiday rom-com here!
Father Christmas is Back • November 7th: This British comedy follows four sisters who get together for Christmas in Yorkshire. What follows is chaos, family secrets, and humour. Starring big names like Elizabeth Hurley, John Cleese and Kelsey Grammer, this one is sure to make you laugh. Be sure to watch the trailer here.
The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star • November 18th: Vanessa Hudgens is back in the newest addition to The Princess Switch series. In this newest film, Queen Margaret and Princess Stacy work with Margaret’s cousin Fiona to retrieve a relic. You can catch the trailer for the newest addition, here.
A Boy Called Christmas • November 24th: A perfect addition to family movie nights during this year’s holiday season. A Boy Called Christmas is the origin story of Father Christmas and is based on the wonderful middle grade book by Matt Haig. It’s full of adventure and is sure to become a new Christmas classic. A Castle for Christmas • November 26th: Starring Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes, A Castle for Christmas is a great holiday rom-com, with a enemies-to-lovers theme. It follows Sophie who travels to Scotland to buy a small castle but doesn’t quite get along with the owner Myles, the Duke of Dunbar. Be sure to watch the trailer here!
Single All the Way • December 2nd: Equal parts humorous and charming, this one is sure to be a hit. It follows Peter who enlists his best friend Nick to be his boyfriend for the holidays to avoid questions and judgement from his family. With stars like Michael Urie, Jennifer Coolidge and Kathy Najimy, it’s sure to be an entertaining movie! You can watch the trailer here.
David and the Elves • December 6th: Another family friendly holiday movie hitting Netflix this season. It follows an overworked elf named Albert who decides to experience Christmas in the “real world” with the help of a new friend, David. While there isn’t a trailer yet, this Danish film will be perfect for all ages.
A California Christmas: City Lights • December 16th: A sequel to A California Christmas, this movie follows Callie and Joseph a year after they fell in love. They now run a dairy farm and winery but struggle when Joseph is called back to the city. There’s nothing better than curling up with a good holiday rom-com!
New Christmas Movies on Disney in 2021
Home Sweet Home Alone • November 12th: The classic holiday movie is getting a reboot with this newest installment to the Home Alone franchise. After being left at home by his family, Max must protect his home from a married couple attempting to steal an heirloom. Starring Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney and Archie Yates, it promises to become a brand new classic. Be sure to watch the trailer, here!
Christmas Again • December 3rd: Christmas Again follows eleven year old Rowena who is struggling with changes to Christmas following her parents divorce. Airing on the Disney Channel and with Groundhog Day vibes, it’s perfect for family movie nights. You can watch the trailer here!

You, Me & The Christmas Trees • October 22nd: This movie follows Olivia, an arborist who works to save the trees of a farmer before a town Christmas tree lighting. It stars Danica McKellar and Benjamin Ayres. You can watch the trailer here!
Boyfriends of Christmas Past • October 23rd: This one follows Lauren as she’s visited by the ghosts of four of her ex-boyfriends. Through it all, she learns to either open her heart, or lose her best friend Nate. It stars Catherine Haena Kim and Raymond Ablack — you can catch the trailer here.
Christmas in My Heart • October 23rd: Starring Heather Hemmens and Luke Macfarlane, this one follows Beth, a violinist who returns home for Christmas following the death of her mother. There, she tutors the dauther of a country music star for a holiday concert. You can watch the trailer, here.
The Santa Stakeout • October 24th: This movie follows Tayna, a police detective and her partner who go undercover as newlyweds to help solve a heist case. It stars Tamera Mowry-Housley and Paul Campbell. Be sure to watch the trailer, here.
Christmas in Harmony • October 29th: Starring Ashleigh Murray and Luke James, we follow Harmony who is tricked into auditioning for a Holiday chorus, which happens to be directed by her ex-boyfriend. You can watch the trailer here.
Coyote Creek Christmas • October 30th: Janel Parrish stars as Paige, who works to save the Coyote Creek Inn and her relationships, with the help of Christmas. It also stars Ryan Paevey. You can watch the trailer here!
The Christmas Promise • October 30th: After the death of her fiancé, Nicole hires a carpenter to help finish their house so she can sell it. She also finds a text to fiancés old number answered, which helps with her grief. It stars Torrey DeVitto, Dylan Bruce and Patrick Duffy. You can watch the trailer, here.
Christmas Sail • October 31st: After getting a call from her Father asking her to return home for Christmas, Liz and her daughter spend the holiday reconnecting with her family and small hometown. It stars Katee Sackhoff and Patrick Sabongui. You can watch the trailer here.
Gingerbread Miracle • November 5th: Merrit Patterson stars as Maya who works with her friend Alex over Christmas to sell his Uncle’s Mexican bakery. It also stars Jon Ecker. You can watch the trailer, here!
Next Stop, Christmas • November 6th: The film follows Angie who wants to spend Christmas alone. But her normal train commute drops her off in her home town … in 2011. It stars Lyndsy Fonseca, Chandler Massey, Lea Thompson and Christopher Lloyd. You can watch the trailer here!
A Mrs. Miracle Christmas • November 6th: After a family loses their Christmas spirit, Gloria comes to the rescue — to bring a Christmas like never before. Starring Caroline Rhea as Gloria Merkle, it’s sure to be a great movie. You can check out the trailer, here.
A Christmas Treasure • November 7th: Jordin Sparks stars as Lou, who opens a 100-year old time capsule and meets a sweet chef. It leaves her questioning if she should move to New York after Christmas to continue her career as a writer. You can watch the trailer, here!
Open by Christmas • November 12th: After finding an unopened Christmas card from a secret admirer, Nicky and her best friend Simone search for its author. The film stars Alison Sweeney, Erica Durance, Brennan Elliott and Michael Karl Richards. You can watch the trailer, here.

One December Night • November 13th: This film stars Peter Gallagher, Bruce Campbell, Eloise Mumford and Brett Dalton. It follows two music managers who work together to bring a televised reunion of their rock star fathers. You can watch the trailer, here.
A Holiday in Harlem • November 14th: This film follows Jazmin who goes to Harlem to spend time with her Grandmother for Christmas. Every Time a Bell Rings • November 18th: Streaming on Hallmark Movies Now, this film follows three sisters as they reunite in their hometown over Christmas to complete a scavenger hunt organized by their late father. It stars Erin Cahill, Brittany Ishibashi, Ali Liebert and Wes Brown.
Nantucket Noel • November 19th: Starring Sarah Power and Trevor Donovan, this film follows Christina, who discovers that a developer is planning on tearing down the wharf near her toy store. She then meets the developer’s son, Andy, and tries to fix the situation.
A Christmas Together With You • November 20th: This film follows Megan and her father-figure as they go on a road trip to find his long lost love. But Megan may find the love of her life too. It stars Harry Lennix, Laura Vandervoort and Niall Matter.
A Kiss Before Christmas • November 25th: This film follows Ethan who wishes his life was different. He wakes up the following morning with nothing the same and he sets out to make it all right. It stars James Denton, Teri Hatcher and Marilu Henner.
The Nine Kittens of Christmas • November 25th: Brandon Routh and Kimberley Sustad reunite in this sequel to The Nine Lives of Christmas. In this one, Zachary and Marilee spend their Christmas finding homes for a litter of kittens.
Christmas CEO • November 26th: In this film we follow Chris, the CEO of a small toy company who gets the opportunity to merge with a bigger toy company. But to make it happen, she needs the signature of her estranged ex-business partner, Joe. It stars Marisol Nichols and Paul Greene.
An Unexpected Christmas • November 26th: This movie follows Jamie, a writer who hasn’t told his family that he and his girlfriend have broken up. After meeting up again, he convinces her to pose as his girlfriend for the Christmas holidays. It stars Bethany Joy Lenz and Tyler Hynes.
Making Spirits Bright • November 27th: Starring Taylor Cole and Carlo Marks, the film follows the son and daughter of rival Christmas decorating companies. While trying to end their father’s feud, they also compete in the town’s decorating contest.
Christmas at Castle Hart • November 27th: This movie follows Brooke who goes to Ireland to learn more about her Irish roots. While there, she meets Aiden, the Earl of Glasough, who hires her to host his Christmas party. It stars Lacey Chabert and Stuart Townsend.
Christmas in Tahoe • November 28th: Laura Osnes stars as Claire, a talent booker who tries to save her family hotel’s Christmas show and asks her ex-boyfriend Ryan to help. It also stars Kyle Selig, Pat Monahan and George Lopez.
The Christmas Contest • November 28th: It’s a Fuller House reunion with Candice Cameron Bure’s newest Christmas movie. It follows Laura and Ben, who are exes, as they compete in Christmas contest for charity. It also stars John Brotherton and Barbara Niven.
Eight Gifts of Hanukkah • December 3rd: After receiving anonymous gifts for each night of Hanukkah, Sara goes on a journey to try and find her secret admirer. It stars Inbar Lavi and Jake Epstein.
A Very Merry Bridesmaid • December 4th: When her 30th birthday falls on the same day as her brother’s wedding, Leah’s childhood crush makes it his mission to make sure her birthday is celebrated. It stars Emily Osmet and Casey Deidrick.
Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday • December 5th: Sisters Jennifer and Meg decide to swap cities in this holiday movie. Jennifer wants to spend one last Christmas at the town’s theatre, The Madison. Meg wants to help Jennifer’s restaurant in Salt Lake during their Christmas competition. It stars real life sisters Kimberley Williams-Paisley and Ashley Williams. It also stars Mark Deklin, Keith Robinson, Susan Yeagley and Kevin Nealon.
A Dickens of a Holiday • December 10th: To celebrate the 100th anniversary of her hometown’s Victorian festival, Cassie invites former classmate and current actor Jake to star as Scrooge in their production of A Christmas Carol. It stars Brooke D’Orsay as well as Kristoffer Polaha.
A Royal Queens Christmas • December 11th: Starring Megan Park and Julian Morris, a Prince finds himself in Queens during Christmas and helps a local women with a Children’s Christmas show.
Sister Swap: Christmas in the City • December 12th: In the second part to Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday, sisters Jennifer and Meg find new purpose and love.
Sugar Plum Twist • December 2nd: Professional ballerina Natalia goes home for Christmas and works with a ballet student who also loves Latin dance. It stars Jamie Gray Hyder, Ektor Rivera as well as Laura Rosguer.
The Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls • December 18th: In this sequel to The Christmas House, The Mitchell Brothers compete to see who can create the best Chrismas house. It stars Robert Buckley, Jonathan Bennett, Sharon Lawrence, Ana Ayora, Treat Williams as well as Brad Harder.
‘Tis the Season to Be Merry • December 19th: After wanting a fresh start, Merry visits Vermont where she finds a new perspective on Christmas with the help of Adam. It stars Rachael Leigh Cook and Travis Van Winkle.
New Lifetime Christmas Movies in 2021
An Ice Wine Christmas • November 12th: Roselyn Sanchez stars as Camila, a top wine sommelier who visits a vineyard in New York as part of their annual Ice Wine Christmas festival. After she learns of her mentor retiring, she decides to help preserve the magic of the festival with Declan, a recently hired wine specialist. The film also stars Lyriq Bent.
A Picture Perfect Holiday • November 13th: Tatyana Ali stars as Gaby, a fashion photographer who gets a chance at her dream job. She heads to an annual Christmas Photography retreat but learns she’s been double booked with a wildlife photographer, Sean. The film also stars Henderson Wade and Dina Meyer.
Dancing Through the Snow • November 19th: Colin lawrence stars as Michael, a firefighter and dad to his 8 year old daughter Lily. While women are desperately trying to date him, he only wants Lily’s ballet teacher, Olivia. The film also stars Annalynne McCord and Bianca Lawrence.
You Make It Feel Like Christmas • November 20th: Emma is a designer who is to busy to be home for the holidays, which disappoints her father. When her ex-boyfriend returns from the military, he tries to get Emma to return home for the holidays. The film stars Mary Antonini, Michael Xavier, Stephanie Sy as well as Alex Poch-Goldin.
Baking Spirts Bright • November 21st: Mira loves making Christmas fruitcake in her family business, despite it’s decline in popularity. Mira’s parents then decide to hire Brady, a marketer, to help boost sales for the holidays. The films stars Rekha Sharma, Dion Johnstone, Aadila Dosani, Praneet Akilla, Manoj Sood as well as Nimet Kanji.
Christmas in Tune • November 26th: After breaking up, singing duo Georgia and Joe reunite for a Christmas charity concert. The film stars Reba McEntire, John Schneider, Candice King as well as Justin David.
Merry Liddle Christmas Baby • November 27th: The Liddles are back in this newest addition to the series. The Liddles are preparing for the arrival of their first baby and a Christmas filled with chaos and lots of love. It stars Kelly Rowland and Thomas Cadrot.
Miracle in Motor City • November 28th: Tia Mowry-Hardrict stars as Amber, who decides to run the annual Christmas pageant at her church. While doing so, she promises a performance by singer Smokey Robinson. With the help of her former crush Edie, she sets out to convince Smokey to perform. The film also stars Mark Taylor and Smokey Robinson.
Welcome to the Christmas Family Reunion • November 29th: Amy, an event planner helps rising singer Tiffanie plan for her holiday family reunion. While doing so, she must deal with family drama and her feelings for Tiffanie’s cousin, Calvin. The film stars Michelle Argyris, Alonzo B Slater and Asia’h Epperson.
Saying Yes to Christmas • November 30th: While home for the holidays, June decides to say yes to every Christmas invitation. But doing so makes her choose between her career in the city or life in her hometown. It stars Erika Prevost and Romaine Waite.
Match Made in Mistletoe • December 1st: Natalie Lisinska stars as Emily, an interior designer who is hired to decorate an annual charity ball in DC. But her plans are changed when a new ambassador, Magnus, has more minimalist plans for the event. It also stars Damon Runyan.
A Christmas Village Romance • December 2nd: After learning about a struggling pioneer village, a romance novelist sponsors a Christmas gala to help bring in visitors. But she’s challenged by the blacksmith and town historian, Carter. The film stars Jake Epstein, Jeni Ross as well as Oliver Renaud.
A Christmas Dance Reunion • December 3rd: Monique Coleman and Corbin Bleu reunite in this holiday film. Lucy returns home for Christmas to celebrate the final Christmas at the local hotel. While there, she recreates the Christmas Dance tradtion to bring in new families to save the resort. It also stars Kim Roberts.
Kirk Franklin’s A Gospel Christmas • December 4th: This film follows Olivia, an assistant pastor assigned to a new church for Christmas. It stars Demetria mcKinney, Chaz Lamar Shepherd as well as Kirk Franklin.
My Favourite Christmas Melody • December 5th: Mÿa stars as singer-songwriter Abby, who writes commercial jingles. While home for the holidays she helps to save the school arts program with the school music teacher. The film also stars Rainbow Sun Francks.
Secretly Santa • December 6th: This film follows Miranda and Paul, two business rivals who meet at a costume party. While their anonymous romance continues online, their in person rivalry continues. It stars Alicia Dea Josipovoc and Travis Nelson.
Christmas Movie Magic • December 7th: After agreeing to cover a story on the anniversary of a classic Christmas movie, Alli works with a local theatre owner, Brad, to discover the origin of the movie’s signature song. It stars Holly Deveaux and Drew Seeley.
Christmas with a Crown • December 8th: While home for the holidays, Cassie meets a stranger named Nicolas. What she doesn’t know is Nicolas is really a prince, looking for true Christmas spirit. It stars Marcus Rosner and Lisa Durupt.
A Fiancé for Christmas • December 9th: After making a fake wedding registry, Sawyer is thrown a surprise bridal shower from the town. Instead of telling the truth, she decides to find a fake fiance. The film stars Marie Osmond, Amanda Payton as well as Adam Gregory.
Holiday in Santa Fe • December 10th: Mario Lopez stars as Tony, who works at his family owned business that makes holiday ornaments and decor. After the passing of the matriarch, Belinda, an executive of a greeting card and holiday decor company tries to acquire the company. It also stars Emeraude Taubia, Aimee Garcia and Gia Lopez.
The Holiday Fix Up • December 11th: This film follows Sam, a designer on a home renovation show who returns home for the holidays to renovate the Bell Harbor Inn. While there, she is teamed up with contractor Coop — the one that got away. It stars Jana Kramer, Ryan McPartlin as well as Maria Menounos.
Blending Christmas • December 12th: The stress of blending two families causes chaos in this new film. It stars Haylie Duff, Aaron O’Connell and also has a mini Brady Bunch reunion. The film also stars Barry Williams, Mike Lookinland, Christopher Knight and Susan Olsen.
Maps and Mistletoe • December 13th: Humberly Gonzalez stars as Emilia Martin, a cartographer of school maps. Her plans of a Christmas at home changes when her boss asks her to design a novelty treasure map of the North Pole. To do this, she needs the help of North Pole explorer, Drew. It also stars Ronnie Row.
Ghosts of Christmas Past • December 14th: After ghosting several people online, Ellie is told by a fortune teller that she must make amends before Christmas or she’ll never find true love. The film stars Annie Clark and Dan Jeannotte.
The Enchanted Christmas Cake • December 15th: After the death of her grandmother, Gwen is struggling with Christmas spirit and running their family bakery. But then a high end chef arrives in town for a Christmas special and she agrees to help the producer prepare to help support the bakery. It stars Erica Durance and Robin Dunne.
Christmas by Chance • December 16th: Winny Clarke stars as Chance who owns a gift shop. A wealthy entrepenuer William hires her to find the perfect proposal for his girlfriend Leyla. But that requires her getting close to Leyla, and pretending to be an old family friend. It also stars Jacob Blair.
Mistletoe in Montana • December 17th: Merry isn’t very lucky in love but her ranch is the perfect place for visitors. After single father Mark and his two kids rent her ranch for the week, things may quickly change! It stars Melissa Joan Hart, Duane Henry as well as Jamey Sheridan.
Toying with the Holidays • December 18th: Cindy Busby stars as Danielle who returns to her hometown for the holidays with her son Paul. While there she discovers the town’s North Pole Express has been sidelined. So she teams up with high school classmate Kevin to get the North Pole Express up and running so she can show her son. It also stars Chad Michael Murray.
Under the Christmas Tree • December 19th: In this film we follow Charlie who finds the perfect tree for the holiday celebration in the backyard of resident, Alma. It stars Elise Bauman, Tattiawana Jones as well as Ricki Lake.
Candy Cane Candidate • December 20th: Jacky Lai stars as Julia who returns to her hometown for Christmas after losing her recent campaign for city council. While there she runs into her high school rival Parker and what follows is a face off for an emergency election. It also stars Jake Epstein.
The Christmas Ball • December 21st: After being let go from the Nutcracker, Clare goes to visit her Aunt in England. While she’s there she meets Liam, a professor helping her Aunt preserve the family manor. It stars Deidre Mullins, Nick Hendrix as well as Caroline Langrishe.
It Takes a Christmas Village • December 22nd: In this film we follow Alex, a mayor determined to make a Christmas market happen. But, she must convince Darcy to loan his family’s historic mill which isn’t easy considering their long family feud. It stars Brooke Nevin, Corey Sevier as well as Alli Chung.
Rebuilding a Dream Christmas • December 23rd: While visiting her hometown to repair a Victorian house she inherited from her grandmother, Abbey hires single dad Josh. As their relationship grows, she may just find a home for herself in the process. It stars Meggan Kaiser, Zane Stephens as well as Bryson JonSteele.
Hot Chocolate Holiday • December 24th: This film follows Colette who runs a coffee shop famous for her hot chocolate. After Marcus opens a dessert shop and draws away Colette’s customers, she’s determined to expose him for stealing her recipe. It stars Aubrey Reynolds as well as Jonny Swenson.
