Maddie and Theo have two things in common:
1. Alexa is their best friend
2. They hate each other
After an “Oops, we made a mistake” kiss, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa’s wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they’re comfortable with. Underneath the sharp barbs they toss at each other is a simmering attraction that won’t fade. It builds until they find themselves sneaking off together to release some tension when Alexa isn’t looking.
But as with any engagement with a nemesis, there are unspoken rules that must be abided by. First and foremost, don’t fall in love.
The Wedding Party Review
Another Jasmine Guillory book is done! I really do love her books and I can’t wait to read more of them!
The Wedding Party follows Alexa’s two best friends, Maddie and Theo. They both are part of Alexa’s wedding party but they also happen to hate each other. During wedding preparations, there are a lot of fights, romance and figuring out relationships.
Just like in previous Jasmine Guillory books, the characters are really enjoyable. Maddie is great, which is no surprise, since I’ve enjoyed her in past books. She’s fiesty, determined, and bold. I love her friendship with Alexa but it’s also great to see her grow in other relationships.
Theo is also a good character. While he’s not my favourite male love interest in the world of Jasmine Guillory books, I think he’s still a fun character. He certainly has chemistry with Maddie and the tension between them jumps through the pages.
The plot is a fun one and the fact that this is an enemies-to-lovers plot makes it more enjoyable. I love the banter, bickering and fighting that the characters go through while fighting their feelings and emotions. It’s also a really fun story with Alexa’s wedding planning.
Once again, the writing is great. Everything Jasmine Guillory writes flows so nicely and before I know it I’m finished reading the book. Her books are definitely perfect summer reading and The Wedding Party is no different.
Overall, The Wedding Party is another great romantic comedy. While it’s not my favourite of Jasmine Guillory’s books, it’s a solid romance that will leave you wanting more.
