The publisher kindly provided me with a digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Seven years ago, he fell in love with a stranger he couldn’t have—today, she’s back in his life and the sparks between them threaten to set her career on fire.
Pearl Harris has learned the hard way to be careful in work and in love. When she is appointed acting director of OurCode, a nonprofit aimed at inspiring high schoolers to code, she has a chance to make lasting change for the organization, but a scandal has put their reputation at risk. Further complicating matters, Pearl didn’t expect the one man she hasn’t stopped thinking about in seven years to be the newest member of her board of directors.
Cord Matthews fell for Pearl when they met in an elevator seven years ago. She’s just his type: smart, capable, and makes him laugh, but when she broke his heart, he decided love wasn’t for him. After five years with no contact, their connection is immediate despite the many roadblocks in their way and Cord must consider breaking his ban on serious relationships. But going public with a romance between them might derail Pearl’s career and the progress she’s made at OurCode.
Pearl and Cord both are hesitant to trust their feelings and take a risk as they grow closer, but it becomes impossible to keep ignoring the electricity between them. Cord is a skilled programmer, but a workplace romance might spell disaster for both of them, and love isn’t easily debugged.
Technically Yours Book Review
I really love Denise Williams writing and the romance stories she creates. Technically Yours is no different from her other books — it’s a true delight!
Technically Yours follows Pearl, a director of a non-profit aimed at encouraging high school students to work in coding. When a new board member is appointed, Pearl discovers that it’s Cord — someone she has a romantic history with. While they spend more time together, old feelings resurface and things become complicated.
Pearl is a delightful main character — I enjoyed her from the first page to the last. She’s honest and true to herself as well as powerful. Even though she doubts herself at times, she has some definite growth throughout the length of the book.
Cord is an adorable romantic interest. I really loved seeing the way he re-established his relationship with Pearl. There are just so many wonderful moments between these two characters.
I really enjoyed reading the flashbacks in this book. Denise Williams did a wonderful job of showcasing their relationship in the past as well as how they rekindled it. I think it was really sweet and endearing.
The story is emotional and heartwarming while also humourous. It really is such a wonderful book that so many readers are going to enjoy. It’s the perfect mix of workplace romance with a second chance at love, which is a great combination.
Overall, Technically Yours is a delightful reading experience. Combined with Denise William’s writing, the story is enjoyable from start to finish. It’ll leave readers wanting more from Pearl and Cord!

About the Author
Denise Williams wrote her first book in the 2nd grade. I Hate You and its sequel, I Still Hate You, featured a tough, funny heroine, a quirky hero, witty banter, and a dragon. Minus the dragons, these are still the books she likes to write. After penning those early works, she finished second grade and eventually earned a PhD in education, going on to work in higher education. After growing up a military brat around the world and across the country, Denise now lives in Des Moines, Iowa with her husband, son, and two ornery shih-tzus who think they own the house.
