After reading A Court of Thorns and Roses, I knew I would really enjoy the sequel. But I didn’t think I would love it this much. A Court of Mist and Fury is probably one of the best books I’ve ever read. A Court of Mist and Fury picks up after the events of the first book. The series follows Feyre as she’s taken to the land of faeries after killing a wolf.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
After reading Throne of Glass recently, I didn’t think Sarah J Maas’ books could get any better. But wow, was I ever wrong! I’m officially a Sarah J Maas convert. A Court of Thorns and Roses follows Feyre, who kills a wolf in the woods and is taken captive because of it. Her time in the land of faeries is both scary and exhilarating. The story is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
The hype surrounding Red Queen really led me to reading the book. Because it was so similar to the Divergent series and The Hunger Games series, I was hoping for more in the sequel. Unfortunately, I’m still wanting more from this series in general.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
After hearing about Sarah J Maas for a while, I figured it was time to finally read one of her books! I’m so glad I did, because her books are totally addicting! Throne of Glass follows Celaena Sardothien who is removed from the salt mines and taken to the castle. She discovers that the Crown Prince has chosen her as his champion in a new competition.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
I have been hearing so much about Caraval since it’s release. I’m so glad I finally picked it up – it’s a fantastic book! Caraval follows Scarlett Dragna – a teenage girl who is desperate to experience more in life. She longs to experience Caraval, a magical performance that includes its spectators. When her invitation to play arrives, she gets more than she bargains for!
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
There is so much hype surrounding Red Queen that I knew I had to read it. The synopsis really grabbed me and it has all the markings of being a book I’ll should love. While I enjoyed reading the book, I do think the hype was a little misleading for me.
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
I am a really big Cassandra Clare fan. In addition to the Harry Potter series, I really think her books got me into fantasy. Needless to say, I love the Shadowhunter world. Lady Midnight is a fantastic start to a brand new Shadowhunter trilogy. Once again, Cassandra Clare tugs at my heartstrings and breaks my heart all with the written word. She truly is remarkable writer.
