Review
Anne of Green Gables is such a classic novel, it’s great to see it in different forms.
This board book is absolutely adorable! It’s the perfect book for family reading nights or early readers. Similar to other board books, it’s the perfect size for tiny little hands to get involved in reading and help turn the pages.
This version does a good job of condensing the original Anne of Green Gables story. Readers get a great sense of the original story, without the length. This makes it the perfect start before introducing early readers to the classic novel.
The illustrations in this board book are super cute. They’re incredibly modern, which gives this board book a unique twist. The colours are super vibrant and the facial expressions are absolutely adorable. I just love the way the illustrator depicts these scenes.
The other aspect I really enjoyed is the inclusion of quotes from the original story. Clarkson does a great job of including these classic lines into a condensed version of the story. I think it is a great touch!
Overall, I think this is a cute version of the story. It’s perfect for bedtime stories or teachers introducing students to new stories!
