After reading Get a Life, Chloe Brown and the other books in the Brown Sisters series, I fell in love with Talia Hibbert’s stories. I’ve been patiently waiting for the release of her young adult debut. While I enjoyed it, I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would.
The Do-Over by Lynn Painter
After reading Lynn Painter’s debut, I’ve been patiently waiting for her next young adult book to release. While I wasn’t sure it could live up to my expectations, it exceeded them. I absolutely loved this book! The Do-Over follows Emilie, who wakes up on Valentine’s Day with a plan to have the best day.
Better Than the Movies by Lynn Painter
There’s nothing better than a hilarious young adult rom-com. Better Than the Movies is all that and more â and is definitely one of my all-time favourite books. Better Than the Movies follows Liz, who has a constant rivalry with her neighbour Wes. When senior year roles around, her childhood crush Michael moves back to town. To get Michael to ask her to prom, she needs Wes’ help.
Begin Again by Emma Lord
Since Emma Lord’s debut, I’ve started each year reading her newest release. Begin Again is a really sweet contemporary romance that I really enjoyed. While Tweet Cute is still my favourite, Begin Again is a solid read.
Exes and O’s by Amy Lea
After reading Set on You last year, I really didn’t think Amy Lea’s next book could top it. I’m so glad I was wrong â because Exes and O’s is fantastic and it happens to be my first five star read of the year! Exes and O’s is the second book in The Influencer series. While it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
