The publisher kindly sent me a physical copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
After an injury ends Travis Ford’s major league baseball career, he returns home to start over. He just wants to hammer out his frustrations at his new construction gig and forget all about his glory days. But he can’t even walk through town without someone recapping his greatest hits. Or making a joke about his … bat. And then there’s Georgie, his buddy’s little sister, who is definitely not a kid anymore.
Georgette Castle has crushed on her older brother’s best friend for years. The grumpy, bear of a man working for her family’s house flipping business is a far cry from the charming sports star she used to know. But a moody scowl doesn’t scare her and Georgie’s determined to show Travis he’s more than a pretty face and a batting average, even if it means putting her feelings aside to be “just friends.”
Travis wants to brood in peace. But the girl he used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman who makes him feel whole again. And he wants her. So damn bad. Except Georgie’s off limits and he knows he can’t give her what she deserves. But she’s becoming the air he breathes and Travis can’t stay away, no matter how hard he tries …
Fix Her Up Review
I’m seriously hooked on fun rom-coms these days! I have been hearing about Fix Her Up everywhere! I’m so happy that it’s a fun, entertaining read!
Fix Her Up follows Georgie and her brother’s best friend, Travis. Georgie is trying to run her own business while proving herself to her family. Travis is a former baseball player who is struggling with his life without baseball.
These characters are so fun. Georgie is certainly the star of this book and I really enjoed her! This book is obviously a romance but I also feel like it’s a coming of age story. Georgie is trying to figure her life out and I find that extremely relatable.
Travis is also an enjoyable character and I think he’s a good romantic interest. I enjoyed his chemistry with Georgie and the way she deals with him. She’s a totally spit-fire and doesn’t allow him to mess with her. It’s sweet seeing how their arrangement benefits them both but turns into something more.
The romance in this book is super steamy but it’s also a bit cheesy. There are aspects of this book that are a bit much, like the silly nicknames. But if you don’t take it at face value, it’s just a fun read.
Overall, Fix Her Up is a fast, enjoyable and addicting read. It’s perfect for those times you want a quick read (and maybe a bit of cheesy-ness too)!
