Happy last Tuesday of 2020! Today I’m sharing a list of my top ten favourite books that I read during 2020.
It’s hard to believe that in a couple of days we’ll be starting a brand new year. I think all of us are looking forward to a fresh start. Here’s hoping that 2021 will be a much better year for all of us.
2020 has been a really weird reading year for me. I reached my Goodreads goal of reading 50 books, which is great. But a lot of the books I were re-reads. I found myself looking for comforting reads this year. So I ended up reading a lot of old favourites.
But, I still managed to find a list of top ten favourite books of 2020 – with only one re-read included!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where she assigns a new topic each week and we post a top ten list to go along with the theme!
Top Ten Books of 2020
Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare: I’ve always been a fan of the Shadowhunter books, but each book takes it to a whole new level. I absolutely love being back in the world of Will and Tessa but with a new adventure. The setting, the plot and the writing is perfect and I can’t wait for the sequel. Be sure to read my review, here.
Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett: I just love everything Jenn Bennett writes and she’s certainly an auto-buy author. Her newest book is so sweet, and the perfect contemporary romance. You can read my full review, here.
Fable by Adrienne Young: After hearing so many great things about Fable, I knew it was time to pick it up. I’m so glad I did because it’s a great sea-faring adventure. The cliff hanger is insane so I am eagerly waiting for the next book! Be sure to check out my review, here!
Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert: I meant to read this one in 2019 but I finally read it this year. Wow, it’s a perfect romance and has certainly solidified Talia Hibbert as a favourite writer. I didn’t get to the sequel this year, but I already know I’m going to love it! My full thoughts can be found here.
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas: I was lucky enough to snag an advance copy of Sarah J Maas’ newest release. I read this 800 page book in less than three days – that’s how incredible it is. It’s a great new world and I can’t wait to see how the story continues. You can read my full review, here.
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas: I’ve been reading the Throne of Glass series with my friend. A few years ago I read up to Queen of Shadows but never continued. When I re-read Queen of Shadows this year, I was reminded of how incredible this book is and the series in general. I couldn’t not include it in this list of favourites.
Time of Our Lives by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka: I just absolutely adore Emily Wibberley and Austin Seigemund-Broka. Not only are they incredibly supportive of their readers, but they write incredible reads. Their newest release this year is a great coming of age story with a sweet romance.
Tweet Cute by Emma Lord: Tweet Cute was my first read of 2020 and it was a great start to the reading year. I just loved this debut because it’s sweet, fluffy, funny and well written. I’m really looking forward to her next book but this one will always be a bit special! Read my full review, here.
Well Met by Jen DeLuca: Another romance book I meant to read in 2019. I read this book twice this year, that’s how much I loved it. It’s romantic, funny, and a perfect read. I also read the sequel this year, but didn’t love it quite as much. I will definitely be picking up the third book next year.
Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli & Aisha Saeed: I just loved this contemporary book! It has a strong message and is incredibly timely. The romance was sweet and minimal in this, but really enjoyable. You can read my review, here.

Story of my life! So many books and not enough time to get to them all. I hope you enjoy it when you read it … although I will say, the first 100 pages are a bit tough. But once you’re past that, it’s just SUCH a good story and world! š
