A heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there’s not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick.
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases β a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old.
It doesn’t help that Stella has Asperger’s and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice β with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can’t afford to turn down Stella’s offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan β from foreplay to more-than-missionary position …
Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he’s making her feel. Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic …
The Kiss Quotient Review
After hearing so much buzz about The Kiss Quotient, I knew I had to read it! I am so happy to say it totally lives up to the hype. It deserves all the stars!
The Kiss Quotient follows Stella, an intelligent and wealthy econometrician who has Aspergers. Since dating makes her uncomfortable, she hires an escort to help teach her how to date!
Stella is definitely at the top of my list of favourite characters. Not only is she stubborn and complex, but she’s also fierce and independent. I really loved her character development both as an individual and through her relationship with Michael.
Michael is also a wonderful character. His background and his family adds depth to the story that I really enjoyed. While he’s conflicted about his relationship with Stella, I just loved his compassion and consideration.
In addition to great characters, this is a really steamy read! If you love steamy romance reads, than you will never want to put this book down!
Another aspect I loved about this book is the Aspergers representation. I think that it’s so important that Helen Hoang adds such a personal aspect of herself into this book.
Overall, I highly recommend picking up The Kiss Quotient. I just adored every aspect of this debut novel. Above all, it’s a charming, heartfelt story with remarkable characters.
Don’t mind me as I count down the days to the sequel, The Bride Test!
