All week I’ve been sharing books about space. And today, I’m sharing the best space books for young adults! I’ve already shared space books for kids and middle grade readers. But there are a ton of space books for young adults as well. Whether you’re looking for an awesome science-fiction book or one entirely set in space, this list is for you!
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I am extremely late to the game, but I finally read Illuminae! Science fiction books are not usually my first choice of books. So it took me a while to get into the mood to read it. But, it’s such a fantastic book! I really love these characters. Kady is such a badass female character.
Wildcard by Marie Lu
After reading Warcross, I immediately jumped into reading Wildcard. It’s a fantastic end to an epic sci-fi duology. And in my opinion, is definitely better than the first. Wildcard picks up after the events of Warcross. It tells the story of Emika Chen who accidentally hacks into the opening ceremony of the Warcross championships.
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Neal Shusterman books. It’s taken me a long time to finally pick one up but I’m glad I finally did. Scythe follows two characters, Citra and Rowan as they become Scythe apprentices in a dystopian world.
The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee
As soon as I heard about The Thousandth Floor, it’s been on my radar. Fast forward to a year later, the sequel is already out and I’ve finally read the first book! The Thousandth Floor is pitched as Gossip Girl but set in a futuristic world. It follows five different characters and their perspectives in alternating chapters. There’s drama, breakups, makeups and just overall chaos!
