February is all about light-hearted, fluffy contemporary reads. At least for me! So today, I’m sharing the best young adult books to read for Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re looking for a light-hearted, swoon-worthy romance or a contemporary read with a bit of emotion, this list is for you.
Well Played by Jen DeLuca
After reading Well Met, I quickly fell in love with the writing, the character and the overall theme. I loved it so much that I read it twice. As soon as Well Played released, I immediately jumped into reading it. While I still love the writing, the renaissance theme and the characters, I didn’t love this one as much as Well Met.
Well Met by Jen DeLuca
If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ll know that I’ve really started to enjoy reading romance. Well Met is definitely one of my favourite romance books I’ve read so far. Well Met follows Emily, who moves to a new town to help her sister recover from a car accident. She decides to volunteer at the local Renaissance Faire with her niece and finds herself butting heads with the organizer, Simon.
You Have a Match by Emma Lord
After reading Tweet Cute last year, I immediately added You Have a Match to my TBR. Unfortunately, it didn’t really live up to my expectations and because of that, I’m really disappointed. You Have a Match follows Abby, who takes a DNA test and finds out she has a sister. The two decide to spend the summer together at camp because they want to figure out their family history.
Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory
It’s official — I will definitely read anything and everything that Jasmine Guillory writes. Royal Holiday follows Maddie and her mom, Vivian, as they travel to England for Christmas so Maddie can style the Duchess. While there, Vivian meets Malcolm — the Queen’s Private Secretary. Their friendship quickly turns into a holiday romance.
Wrapped Up in You by Talia Hibbert
After reading Get a Life, Chloe Brown earlier this year, I quickly fell in love with Talia Hibbert’s writing. So when I found out she was releasing a Christmas novella, I knew I needed to read it! Wrapped Up in You is a short Christmas novella. It follows Will who has been friends with Abbie and her twin brother for years.
Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams
After reading The Bromance Book Club, I immediately jumped into reading the sequel. While I didn’t love it as much as the first book, it’s a solid sequel! Undercover Bromance follows Braden Mack, the leader of the Bromance book club as well as Liv, Thea’s younger sister. After Liv catches her boss harassing a co-worker, she works with Braden to expose him.
The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
After hearing about the premise of this book, I immediately added it to my list of books to read. While it’s taken me some time to actually get to it, I’m so glad I did! The Bromance Book Club follows Gavin, a professional baseball player who joins a book club after his wife decides to leave him. While meeting to read and discuss romance novels, Gavin uses what he learns to help repair his marriage.
The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory
Another Jasmine Guillory book is done! I really do love her books and I can’t wait to read more of them! The Wedding Party follows Alexa’s two best friends, Maddie and Theo. They both are part of Alexa’s wedding party but they also happen to hate each other. During wedding preparations, there are a lot of fights, romance and figuring out relationships.
The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory
I’m really loving contemporary romance these days. I love that they are quick and easy reads for me. But they’re also just super adorable stories! The Proposal follows Carlos, a side character from The Wedding Date. He sees a bad public proposal at a baseball game and tries to help the girl escape. What starts as friendship, turns into something a bit more!
The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory
I’ve been wanting to read a Jasmine Guillory book for a while, and I’m so glad I did! The Wedding Date is such a sweet romantic comedy that everyone is sure to love! The Wedding Date follows Alexa and Drew who meet while trapped in an elevator. Drew spontaneously asks Alexa to be his date to a wedding and their friendship grows from there!
Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Jenn Bennett! I absolutely love her contemporary romance books and they are certainly auto-buys for me. And let me tell you, she’s done it again! Chasing Lucky follows Josie, who returns to her hometown with her single mother after years away. Once there, she also returns to her childhood best friend, Lucky.
