Immediately after hearing about Stalking Jack the Ripper, I added it to my TBR. But it’s been sitting there for such a long time. I don’t know why it took so long to read it, but I’m so happy I finally did. Stalking Jack the Ripper follows Audrey Rose, a young girl in the 1800s with a passion for forensic science. When the Jack the Ripper murders take place, she desperately tries to solve the mystery alongside her friend, Thomas.
Review | Small Spaces by Katherine Arden
I love finding great new middle grade reads and this book is no exception!
Small Spaces follows twelve-year old Ollie after she discovers a book called Small Spaces. The book tells the story of a family living on a farm and the scary, mysterious events that happen after meeting “the smiling man.” Before long, Ollie experiences a chilling adventure after a school trip to a farm that resembles the events of Small Spaces.
Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
There’s nothing but a good mystery every once and a while. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Truly Devious and while it isn’t my all-time favourite mystery, I still enjoyed it! Truly Devious follows Stevie, a true-crime aficionado.
The Ends of the World by Maggie Hall
The Conspiracy of Us series is such a fun and mysterious adventure. While The Ends of the World is the final book, it’s a great conclusion and I enjoyed every moment! The Ends of the World picks up after the events of Map of Fates. The series follows Avery, who discovers she actually belongs to a secret society called the Circle. The series is full of travel, adventure and mystery.
The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket
After reading The Bad Beginning, I’ve been so excited to continue with the series. It’s been so fun re-visiting one of my favourite childhood books again! The Reptile Room is one of my favourites in the Series of Unfortunate Events. I was curious to see if I enjoyed it as much as I did when I was younger and I’m happy to say, I totally did!
The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket
There are certain books that I attribute to making me a bookworm. The Bad Beginning happens to be one of those books! The Bad Beginning follows Violet, Klaus and Sunny. After the death of their parents, they go to live with their relative, Count Olaf. But, Count Olaf is only interested in their family fortune!
A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro
I’ve always enjoyed mysteries – especially ones that relate to Sherlock Holmes. I had really high hopes for this modern retelling, but it just fell really flat. A Study in Charlotte is a gender-swapped, modern retelling of Sherlock Holmes. It follows Charlotte Holmes, the great-great-great granddaughter of the famous detective. She teams up with fellow student, Jamie Watson to help solve a mysterious murder.
S.T.A.G.S by M.A. Bennett Blog Tour
When PenguinTeen Canada reached out to me to join in this tour, I jumped at the change. S.T.A.G.S seemed so different from anything I’ve ever read. S.T.A.G.S follows Greer, a teenage girl who is new at a prestigious and elite boarding school. The school prefrects, also known as the Medievals, invite Greer for a weekend away.
The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall
I got The Conspiracy of Us as a Christmas gift and it’s been sitting on my shelf for the longest time. I finally decided it was time to give it a try and I’m happy I did. It’s an enjoyable read! The Conspiracy of Us follows Avery, a teenage girl who discovers she belongs to a secret society called The Circle.
