ARC Review | American Royals by Katharine McGee

As soon as I heard about American Royals, I knew it was a book I wanted to read. I’ve been anticipating this book for so long! I’m so happy to say that it lives up to my expectations and I really enjoyed it.

American Royals follows the royal family of America and all the crazy politics and drama. Princess Beatrice is dealing with the stress of the Royal lineage and the pressure of becoming Queen. Princess Samantha is struggling with her position and Prince Jefferson is juggling royal life and girls.

Happy September, everyone!

School starts in a couple of days which means I’ll be back to teaching! I’m excited to get back to a daily routine, but I’ll definitely miss my summer of relaxation. But, there are so many amazing books releasing this September!

ARC Review | Again, but Better by Christine Riccio

Oh, boy. While I had such high expectations for this book, it totally fell flat for me.

Before jumping into this review, I think it’s important to say that I do not watch Christine’s videos on a regular basis. I’ve watched a few of them but have never been drawn in to watch more. But, the premise of her book made me really excited to read it!

Review | Small Spaces by Katherine Arden

I love finding great new middle grade reads and this book is no exception!

Small Spaces follows twelve-year old Ollie after she discovers a book called Small Spaces. The book tells the story of a family living on a farm and the scary, mysterious events that happen after meeting “the smiling man.” Before long, Ollie experiences a chilling adventure after a school trip to a farm that resembles the events of Small Spaces.

Alex, Approximately has been on my radar for a long time. I’ve heard so many great things about this book and Jenn Bennett in general. I’m SO glad I finally got around to reading this book. I absolutely adore it.

ARC Review | Sea Witch Rising by Sarah Henning

This is definitely an enjoyable sequel to an epic fantasy retelling of the little mermaid! The first book, Sea Witch, was not my favourite and it did fall a little flat for me. But, I enjoyed it and thankfully, I enjoyed the sequel as well!

Sea Witch Rising picks up right after the events of Sea Witch. Evie is struggling with the events of the first book. But we also follow two new characters, Alia and Runa who are twins. Alia falls in love with a human and trades her voice with the Sea Witch to prove her love is reciprocated. Runa also makes a trade with the Sea Witch at a much steeper cost.

Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte

Four Dead Queens is a book I have been anticipating for quite a while. It has a really intriguing synopsis as well as a beautiful cover, which totally draws me in! While it’s certainly not the best fantasy I’ve ever read, I really enjoyed it! Four Dead Queens follows Keralie, a thief who lives in a nation ruled by four Queens with four quadrants.
