I really enjoyed reading Love, Lists and Fancy Ships by Sarah Grunder Ruiz. I’m so excited to pick up her next book! Last Call at the Local follows Raine, a musician with ADHD who decides to quit her job and travel around Europe to play music. While there, she teams up with Irish pub owner Jack to help revive his family pub.

When Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka release a new book, it’s automatically on my list of books to read! The Breakup Tour follows Riley, a rising-star musician who is catapulted to fame because of a breakup song. When her ex-husband believes the song is about him, she decides to contact her ex-boyfriend from college, Max — the person who actually inspired the song. Max decides to join her on tour and as they perform across the country, they realize that despite their past mistakes, they may have a future together.

Bride by Ali Hazelwood
Bride is Ali Hazelwood’s first paranormal romance and I’m so excited to read it. It follows Misery, the daughter of a powerful Vampyre councilman who is tasked with upholding a historic peacekeeping alliance with the Weres. When Misery enters into an arranged marriage with Lowe, the Alpha Werewolf, they navigate the dangerous alliance between the Vampyres and Weres. Even though it’s different from her contemporary romance, I think it will be a great read!

The Reason I Married Him by Meghan Quinn
The Reason I Married Him is a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance with a marriage of convenience. It follows Aubree who finally has time to focus on her family farm. When Wyatt, the long-lost owner of the other half of the land appears, they enter into a marriage of convenience so Wyatt can achieve his goals. Meghan Quinn’s books are always so enjoyable and this one will definitely be entertaining from start to finish!

To Woo and to Wed by Martha Waters
To Woo and to Wed is the final book in the Regency Vows series. This third book follows West and Sophie as they reunite years after their almost engagement. When Sophie’s sister expresses interest in an Earl, Sophie proposes a plan to West: they will fake an engagement and break it off once Alexandra marries. It’s going to be a wonderful historical romance about second-chances.

When he lands in the hospital after a boating accident, his family mistakes Melanie as his fiancee and they decide to fake an engagement for the week. It gives me While You Were Sleeping vibes and I’m so excited for the Canadian setting.

I hope to read more historical romance in 2024. Lady Charlotte Always Gets Her Man is an upcoming historical rom-com. It follows Lady Charlotte who runs from a betrothal to Viscount Hawley and allies with Dr. Matthew Talbot, Hawley’s shy and secretive brother. As they work together to discover family secrets, their hearts also become entangled.

Happily Never After by Lynn Painter
When Lynn Painter releases a book, it’s immediately on my list of books to read. Happily Never After follows Sophie, who discovers that her fiancé has cheated on her again. I adore Abby Jimenez and the stories she creates — three of her books made my list of favourite books for 2023! The Rule Book by Sarah Adams

When his obstinate behaviour jeopardizes her job, she declares war but finds common ground along the way.

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune
This Summer Will Be Different is the upcoming romance by Carley Fortune, New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After and Meet Me at the Lake. Despite their banter, she falls for Kieran but learns why he resists: support Siobhan’s series or explore her feelings for Kieran.

The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
When Christina Lauren releases a new book, it’s immediately on my list of books to read. The Paradise Problem follows Anna, who married West in college so she could get access to subsidized housing and divorced him at graduation. Three years later, West needs to be married for five years in order to receive a $100 million dollar inheritance and asks Anna to help. This one sounds like it’ll be so much fun! I still think The Unhoneymooners is my favourite — but maybe this one will be a new favourite!

Looking for Love in All the Haunted Places by Claire Kann
Even though this book comes out earlier in the year, I feel like it’ll be the perfect halloween romance. Lucky is drawn to the supernatural and when she hears of a production company where actors mysteriously quit after spending nights inside an old Victorian home called Hennessee House, she decides to investigate. When she goes to investigate, she meets Maverick and their chemistry is instant — and she now has to choose between her career and love.

Barely Even Friends by Mae Bennett
Barely Even Friends is an upcoming Beauty and the Beast retelling. It follows Bellamy, a contractor who takes on the kob of restoring the Killington Estate but finds it occupied by Oliver Killington. Despite their differences, a truce forms and they work together — and sparks fly. I can’t wait for the grumpy-sunshine trope to shine through in this one.

As soon as I saw this cover, I immediately added it to my list of books to read — it’s just stunning! A Novel Love Story follows Eileen, a literature professor who finds herself stranded in the fictional town from her favourite romance series. Believing she’s there to bring the town to its storybook ending, she meeds a grumpy bookstore owner who rejects her efforts. I can’t wait to pick this one up!

Finding Mr. Write by Kelley Armstrong
Finding Mr. Write follows Daphne, an author who poses as a male writer for her latest book and is catapulted to fame. To maintain the illusion, she hires Chris to play the fictional author. While they deal with the media attention and the wilderness, Chris must pretend to be the author as he deals with a growing crush on Daphne. I’m looking forward to the outdoor setting in this one!

Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren
I am so excited to pick up this Tangled inspired romance by Christina Lauren. It follows Ren, who was raised off the grid and finally enters the real world when she attends college. While there, she meets Fitz and is thrown into an unexpected road trip with him that challenges all their plans and brings them closer together. It’s going to be so much fun and a great addition to the Meant to Be series. Tangled also happens to be my favourite Disney movie, so I have high hopes for this one!!
