I really enjoyed reading Love, Lists and Fancy Ships by Sarah Grunder Ruiz. I’m so excited to pick up her next book! Last Call at the Local follows Raine, a musician with ADHD who decides to quit her job and travel around Europe to play music. While there, she teams up with Irish pub owner Jack to help revive his family pub.

Hedging Your Bets by Jayne Denker

In this enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy, Jayne is happily divorced and uninterested in dating but finds herself clashing with her new minamilist neighbour, Noah. When they compete in a gardening contest, they realize that their opposing views might make them perfect for each other. It looks like it’ll be such an enjoyable read!

Red String Theory by Lauren Kung Jessen

Red String Theory follows Rooney, an artist who is guided by the Chinese legend of the red string of fate and believes in signs that leads to one’s true love. When she meets the perfect guy, a night in New York City confirms her theory. But, Jack is a skeptic. It will be a heartfelt and charming story about star crossed lovers.

Finding Mr. Purrfect by Codi Gary

Finding Mr. Purrfect is a romantic comedy that follows Charity, a bakery owner who has horrible taste in men — especially when it comes to Will. When she wants to stop her parents from asking about her love life, she decides to fake-date Will and they both get more than they expected. It’ll be the perfect fake-dating romance to start off your 2024 reading!

Love, Naturally by Sophie Sullivan

Love, Naturally is an upcoming opposites-attract romance. It follows Presley, who takes a solo camping trip after a breakup. While there, she meets Beckeet who is dealing with a crumbling lodge and deffered dreams. Despite their differences, they feel a draw to each other and discover what happens when you go outside your comfort zone.

The Worst Best Man by Lucy Score

The Worst Best Man is a standalone romantic comedy by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Lucy Score. It’s an enemies-to-lovers romance that follows Franchesca, the maid of honour, and Aidan, the best man, as they try to save their friends’ wedding from disaster. While it’s not a brand new release for the year, it’s being republished with a new cover! It also happens to be a brand new read for me, so I’m looking forward to picking it up!

The Breakup Tour by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka

When Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka release a new book, it’s automatically on my list of books to read! The Breakup Tour follows Riley, a rising-star musician who is catapulted to fame because of a breakup song. When her ex-husband believes the song is about him, she decides to contact her ex-boyfriend from college, Max — the person who actually inspired the song. Max decides to join her on tour and as they perform across the country, they realize that despite their past mistakes, they may have a future together.

Canadian Boyfriend by Jenny Holiday

Canadian Boyfriend follows Aurora, a ballet teacher who reunites with Mike, a hockey player she once pretended was her Canadian boyfriend. The more time they spend together, the longer she keeps her secret and she knows it will break the trust between them. It will certainly be a heartwarming story about second-chances and taking risks. This one sounds like it will be so much fun!

Bride by Ali Hazelwood

Bride is Ali Hazelwood’s first paranormal romance and I’m so excited to read it. It follows Misery, the daughter of a powerful Vampyre councilman who is tasked with upholding a historic peacekeeping alliance with the Weres. When Misery enters into an arranged marriage with Lowe, the Alpha Werewolf, they navigate the dangerous alliance between the Vampyres and Weres. Even though it’s different from her contemporary romance, I think it will be a great read!

The Reason I Married Him by Meghan Quinn

The Reason I Married Him is a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance with a marriage of convenience. It follows Aubree who finally has time to focus on her family farm. When Wyatt, the long-lost owner of the other half of the land appears, they enter into a marriage of convenience so Wyatt can achieve his goals. Meghan Quinn’s books are always so enjoyable and this one will definitely be entertaining from start to finish!

To Woo and to Wed by Martha Waters

To Woo and to Wed is the final book in the Regency Vows series. This third book follows West and Sophie as they reunite years after their almost engagement. When Sophie’s sister expresses interest in an Earl, Sophie proposes a plan to West: they will fake an engagement and break it off once Alexandra marries. It’s going to be a wonderful historical romance about second-chances.

When Grumpy Met Sunshine by Charlotte Stein

When Grumpy Met Sunshine is an upcoming opposites-attract romance. It follows Alfie, a retired footballer who is coerced into selling his memoirs but is unable to write them himself. Enter Mabel, a ghostwriter with a talent for getting the details from Alfie. To help satisfy the public’s appetite for a Cinderella story, they pretend to be a couple — but their chemistry might not all be for show. I also adore this cover!

At First Spite by Olivia Dade

Olivia Dade is the bestselling author of the Spoiler Alert series. At First Spite follows Athena, who buys the infamous Spite House in Harlot Bay after her engagement ends. The problem is her house is small, it’s attached to her ex’s home and the man who convinced her ex to leave her, Matthew, lives on the other side. Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey

When Tessa Bailey releases a new book, it’s immediately on my list of books to read! Fangirl Down follows Wells, a struggling golf star who realizes he’s made a mistake quitting the game. He decides to ask his loyal fan Josephine to be his caddy and help him turn his golf game around. As they travel together, sparks fly and they discover a suprising connection. I’m so excited for this one!

Fish Out of Water by Katie Ruggle

When Dahlia’s sister disappears on a simple hike, she decides to take matters into her own hands and heads to the Colorado Rockies to find her. While there, she convinces Winston, a grouchy local to be her guide. As they search for her sister, Dahlia has never been more out of her element but having Winston at her side makes everything better. I love the outdoor setting of this one — and the cover is just so pretty!

Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair by Laura Piper Lee

Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair follows Hannah, a new mom who finds an engagement ring in the closet. But her boyfriend surprises her by breaking up with her instead of proposing. Heartbroken, Hannah moves into her parents’ cabin and hires River, a carpenter, to complete the renovation. As they spend time together, Hannah contemplates a different future for herself.

Not Your Crush’s Cauldron by April Asher

Not Your Crush’s Cauldron is the third book in the Supernatural Singles series. It follows Olive, a witch who prefers teaching about the supernatural world but decides to step out of her comfort zone. As part of her challenge, she moves in with her longtime crush and friend, Bax. Assigned to keep Olive safe, Bax realizes that the assignment will be more challenging than he anticipated.

The Catch by Amy Lea

The Catch is the third book in The Influencer series and I’m so excited to pick this one up! It follows Melanie, a Boston fashion influencer who decides to revive her brand by heading to a rural fishing village in Canada. While there, she meets Evan, a grumpy lobster fisherman and B&B owner. When he lands in the hospital after a boating accident, his family mistakes Melanie as his fiancee and they decide to fake an engagement for the week. It gives me While You Were Sleeping vibes and I’m so excited for the Canadian setting.

The Neighbor Wager by Crystal Kaswell

The Neighbor Wager follows Deanna, a driven tech entrepeneur who runs a successful dating site with her sister Lexi. When her neighbour River shows interest in Lexi, Deanna tries to keep him occupied to avoid a disruption to their company. When sparks fly, things become complicated. I love a good rivals-to-lovers story!

Till There Was You by Lindsay Hameroff

I love picking up books that revolve around cooking and baking! Till There Was You follows Lexi, a culinary student who wants to become an executive chef and make her late mother proud. After a weekend fling with musician Jake, he becomes an overnight celebrity with a single inspired by Lexi’s blueberry pancake recipe. As his fame rises, Lexi struggles with the challenges of internet scrutiny and her culinary career. When Jake reappears, she has to choose between her planned future or the recipe for love.

Right on Cue by Falon Ballard

Right on Cue follows Emmy, a former actress-turned-screenwriter who faces a challenge when her movie project stalls because it has no leading lady. To help the situation, she decides to step into the role and finds herself working with Grayson. Emmy blames Grayson for her past career setback so they must navigate their complicated history and potential unresolved feelings to save the production and their careers.

The Partner Plot by Kristina Forest

When high school sweethearts Violet and Xavier unexpectedly reunite in Vegas, they decide to impulsively get married. As the recognize the potential career benefits, they decide to play the part. When old feelings resurface, they realize they might have a second chance at love but worry if it’s a lasting connection. I really love the cover on this one — and the story sounds so cute too!

Kilt Trip by Alexandra Kiley

There’s nothing better than an enemies-to-lovers romance, especially one set in Scotland. Kilt Trip follows Addie, a travel consultant who vows to never visit Scotland because of what it maenat to her late mother. When she’s asked to revamp a family-run tour group, she heads to the one place she didn’t want to visit — and clashes with Logan, the owner who is fiercely protective of Scotland’s true beauty. I’m so excited to pick this one up — I think it’s one of my most-anticipated romance releases for this year!

Lady Charlotte Always Get Her Man by Violet Marsh

I hope to read more historical romance in 2024. Lady Charlotte Always Gets Her Man is an upcoming historical rom-com. It follows Lady Charlotte who runs from a betrothal to Viscount Hawley and allies with Dr. Matthew Talbot, Hawley’s shy and secretive brother. As they work together to discover family secrets, their hearts also become entangled.

Happily Never After by Lynn Painter

When Lynn Painter releases a book, it’s immediately on my list of books to read. Happily Never After follows Sophie, who discovers that her fiancé has cheated on her again. She decides to hire Max, a professional objector who breaks up weddings and when she learns more about his job, she decides to team up with him. When a case involves Max’s past heartbreak, their partnership takes an unexpected turn. If you haven’t picked up any of Lynn Painter’s books yet, do yourself a favour and put them at the top of your TBR for 2024!

Flirty Little Secret by Jessica Lepe

Flirty Little Secret is pitched as You’ve Got Mail mixed with Abbott Elementary, which sounds perfect to me! It follows Lucy, a school counselor who hides behind an online persona @TheMissGuidedCounselor. When history teacher Aldrich has problems, he counts on his online confidant for advice. But they discover each other’s secret identities, which complicates things.

Maya’s Laws of Love by Alina Khawaja

Maya’s Laws of Love follows Maya, who is known for her unlucky love life. When she accepts an arranged marriage proposal from Imtiaz, she heads to Pakistan. On her way, she encounters Sarfaraz, a cynical divorce lawyer and a serious of mishaps bring them closer together. This one sounds like it’ll be so cute!

Bridesmaid for Hire by Meghan Quinn

Bridesmaid for Hire is the first book in a brand new series by Meghan Quinn. The series will follow women hired to be bridesmaids at weddings and their own journey to finding their happily ever after. If it’s anything like her other books, than it’s gauranteed to be an enjoyable read! This past year was the year of Meghan Quinn for me, so I’m looking forward to reading more books by her this year!

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

I adore Abby Jimenez and the stories she creates — three of her books made my list of favourite books for 2023! Just for the Summer follows Justin and Emma who are plagued by a curse where their exes find true love after breaking up. When they decide to date each other to cancel out their misfortunes, their planned summer fling takes an unexpected turn and their connection might be more than just a coincidence.

The Rule Book by Sarah Adams

Sarah Adams is the New York Times best-selling author of Practice Makes Perfect. The Rule Book is an upcoming companion to The Cheat Sheet. It follows college exes Nora and Derek, who reunite when Nora becomes Derek’s sports agent. Despite their breakup, Derek seeks revent, which makes Nora’s professional life challenging. While I still haven’t picked up anything by Sarah Adams, I’m hoping to read this one this year — and dive into her backlist after!

The Kiss Countdown by Etta Easton

The Kiss Countdown follows Amerie, an event planner who fakes a relationship with Vincent, an astronaut, for three months to save her startup. As they navigate the charade, Amerie must choose between a safe life and the allure of something extraordinary with Vincent. I think this one is going to be such a fun romance! Also, how adorable is the cover?

Earls Trip by Jenny Holiday

Earls Trip is pitched as Ted Lasso meets Bridgerton with a 19th century spin on The Hangover. What could be better than that? It follows Archibald, the Earl of Harcourt, who looks forward to his annual trip with his best friends but a letter arrives and forces him on a trip with his childhood friends, Clementine and Olive. While on the trip, Clementine proposes that Archie helps her experience life before settling into spinsterhood.

Funny Story by Emily Henry

I am so excited to pick up Emily Henry’s next romance! I always look forward to her new releases. When Daphne’s fiancé Peter leaves her for her best friend, Petra, she reluctantly becomes roommates with Petra’s ex, Miles. Despite their differences, they form a friendship and as they spend the summer together, Daphne questions the meaning of their connection. I just know it’ll be another heartfelt and charming story by Emily Henry!

Effie Olsen’s Summer Special by Rochelle Bilow

Effie Olsen’s Summer Special follows Effie, who returns to her hometown in Maine for a summer job at the Brown Butter restaurant. While there, she reconnects with childhood best friend Ernie and navigates challenges, secrets and romance. I feel like this will be the perfect book to curl up with while the weather starts to warm up.

Happy Medium by Sarah Adler

Happy Medium is the next release from Sarah Adler, the author of Mrs. Nash’s Ashes. It follows Gretchen, a con artist who takes on a job to investigate paranormal activity on a struggling goat farm. While there, she encounters a real ghost named Everett, who seeks her help to prevent the sale of the farm and save Charlie, the skeptical farmer, from a family curse. Through this experience, she learns the importance of honesty and genuine connection.

Love at First Knight by Megan Clawson

Love at First Knight is another royal rom-com by Megan Clawson, author of Falling Hard for the Royal Guard. I’m definitely enjoying more royal themed books lately, so I’m looking forward to this one! It follows Daisy, who secures a summer job at the Tower of London’s Knight school. While there, she meets Teddy, a disgraced royal relative who reluctantly joined the summer program. When his obstinate behaviour jeopardizes her job, she declares war but finds common ground along the way.

Love, Lies and Cherry Pie by Jackie Lau

Love, Lies and Cherry Pie follows Emily, who is tired of hearing about the seemingly perfect Mark Chan — especially when her mom pressures her to date him. To thwart her mother’s matchmaking, she convinces Mark into a fake relationship but she discovers there’s more to Mark than she thought. There’s nothing better than a fake-dating romance and this one seems like it’ll be a great read!

Mistakes We Never Made by Hannah Brown

Mistakes We Never Made is an upcoming romantic comedy by Hannah Brown, star of The Bachelorette. It follows Emma and Finn, former almost-lovers turned frenemies who are forced to confront their history at a friend’s wedding. When they embark on a road trip to help find the missing bride, unexpected adventures and rekindled feelings create challenges for them. I’m so intrigued by this one!

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune

This Summer Will Be Different is the upcoming romance by Carley Fortune, New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After and Meet Me at the Lake. It follows Lucy, a tourist on Prince Edward Island who finds herself entangled with Felix, a local man who shows her around. When she learns that Felix is her best friend’s younger brother, they decide to resist tempation and avoid repeating their passionate encounter — but each summer becomes a challenge. When Bridget faces a crisis, Lucy rushes to PEI to help her and discovers that Felix may not be the person she once knew. I love the PEI setting and know this will be another great read from Carley Fortune!

Love at First Book by Jenn McKinlay

Love at First Book is another book on this list that is set abroad, this time in Ireland. It follows Emily, a librarian who jumps at the chance to work for her favourite author Siobhan in Ireland. While helping Siobhan with her writer’s block, she navigates the challenges of Siobhan’s son, Kieran. Despite their banter, she falls for Kieran but learns why he resists: support Siobhan’s series or explore her feelings for Kieran.

The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren

When Christina Lauren releases a new book, it’s immediately on my list of books to read. The Paradise Problem follows Anna, who married West in college so she could get access to subsidized housing and divorced him at graduation. Three years later, West needs to be married for five years in order to receive a $100 million dollar inheritance and asks Anna to help. This one sounds like it’ll be so much fun! I still think The Unhoneymooners is my favourite — but maybe this one will be a new favourite!

Looking for Love in All the Haunted Places by Claire Kann

Even though this book comes out earlier in the year, I feel like it’ll be the perfect halloween romance. Lucky is drawn to the supernatural and when she hears of a production company where actors mysteriously quit after spending nights inside an old Victorian home called Hennessee House, she decides to investigate. When she goes to investigate, she meets Maverick and their chemistry is instant — and she now has to choose between her career and love.

Savor It by Tarah DeWitt

Savor It follows Sage, who wants to participate in the Festival of Spunes following her ex’s engagement. But, she needs a partner. Sage strikes a deal with Fisher, a former NYC chef seeking redemption: she’ll improve his image if he is her partner for the competition. As their alliance turns into a steamy romance, they discover that summer is the perfect time for healing. I haven’t read a book by Tarah DeWitt yet, but this looks like the perfect place to start!

All’s Fair in Love and War by Virginia Heath

All’s Fair in Love and War is the first in a brand new Regency romance series. It follows Henry, a former naval captain who is left in charge of his sister’s unruly children when she decides to go to Egypy. For help, he hires a governess, but he clashes with Georgina’s style of taking care of children. While they clash, sparks fly and they must navigate love and opposition. After watching shows like Bridgerton and The Gilded Age, I’m so excited to read more historical romance books in 2024!

Barely Even Friends by Mae Bennett

Barely Even Friends is an upcoming Beauty and the Beast retelling. It follows Bellamy, a contractor who takes on the kob of restoring the Killington Estate but finds it occupied by Oliver Killington. Despite their differences, a truce forms and they work together — and sparks fly. I can’t wait for the grumpy-sunshine trope to shine through in this one.

Birding with Benefits by Sarah T Dubb

Birding with Benefits follows Celeste, who is recently divorced and decides to embark on a year of yes. When a friend asks her to partner with another friend for a bird-watching contest, she decides to enter into the contest and play the role as his temporary girlfriend. As they explore the wilderness, they discover that their differences might lead them into a lasting connection.

Daydream by Hannah Grace

Daydream is the third book in the Maple Hills series by New York Times bestselling author, Hannah Grace. It follows Henry, a reluctant hockey captain who teams up with bookish junior Halle to overcome academic challenges. While they navigate their friendship, they deal with academics, and budding feelings but try to stick to their no-falling-in-love pact. I still need to read Wildfire, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be excited for this upcoming release!

Meet Me in Tahiti by Georgia Toffolo

Meet Me in Tahiti follows Zoe, a travel blogger who is surprised to find Finn, the guy who broke her heart, is the subject of her latest article. While the explore the exotic wonders of the island, they confront their past and the possibility of a future together. While this is not a brand new release for this year, it’s being republished with a brand new cover!

Pardon My Frenchie by Farrah Rochon

When Farrah Rochon releases a new romance, I’m definitely going to pick it up. It follows Ashanti, the owner of Barkingham Palace doggie daycare who is dealing with the chaos of her French bulldog and a poodle going viral on social media. When Thad disrupts her business by pulling the poodle out of daycare, Ashanti must try and make amends to save her business, which leads to an enemies-to-lovers romance.

Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan

I haven’t read anything by Annabel Monaghan yet but this one sounds like it’ll be really entertaining! Summer Romance is the upcoming book by Annabel Monaghan, the bestselling author of Same Time Next Summer and Nora Goes Off Script. It follows Ali, a professional organizer with a messy life. When she meets Ethan, she embarks on a summer romance and deals with the possibility of fixing her messy and chaotic life.

The Irish Goodbye by Amy Ewing

When Cordelia, a once-renowned street photographer grapples with loss, she decides to take an impulsive job on Inishmore Island in Ireland. While there, she meets Niall, a grumpy local nursing a broken heart. Their initial meeting leads to a clash but things quickly escalate into a fiery rivalry. I love that this book is set in Ireland, so I’m hoping it’ll be a fun romance!

Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood

Another book by Ali Hazelwood on this list, but that’s not surprising! Not in Love follows Rue, a biotech engineer who faces a threat to her stable life when a hostile takeover, led by Eli, puts her job at risk. Despite the off-limits nature of their connection, Rue and Eli engage in a secret relationship and must deal with the risky business of their love and the success of their companies.

One Last Summer by Kate Spencer

I really enjoyed Kate Spencer’s debut, so I’m looking forward to picking this one up. One Last Summer follows Clara, whose tumultuous life takes a surprising turn during a reunion at Pine Lake Camp, where the property is up for sale. While there, she reconnects with her old camp rival, Mack, and experiences an unexpected romance.

The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center

Katherine Center is the New York Times bestselling author of Happiness for Beginners, The Bodyguard and Hello Stranger. The Rom-Commers follows Emma who gets a chance to write a screenplay for her screenwriting idol, Charlie Yates. As Nick and Alyssa spend more time together, an unexpected connection forms and they learn that sometimes you just need someone on your team.

The Art of Catching Feelings by Alicia Thompson

The Art of Catching Feelings follows Daphne, a baseball heckler who apologizes to professional player, Chris, after he has an unexpected reaction. Since Chris is going through a difficult time, he finds solace in their conversations and they both realize that there may be more beneath the surface. I’m so excited to pick this one up!

A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston

As soon as I saw this cover, I immediately added it to my list of books to read — it’s just stunning! A Novel Love Story follows Eileen, a literature professor who finds herself stranded in the fictional town from her favourite romance series. Believing she’s there to bring the town to its storybook ending, she meeds a grumpy bookstore owner who rejects her efforts. I can’t wait to pick this one up!

Finding Mr. Write by Kelley Armstrong

Finding Mr. Write follows Daphne, an author who poses as a male writer for her latest book and is catapulted to fame. To maintain the illusion, she hires Chris to play the fictional author. While they deal with the media attention and the wilderness, Chris must pretend to be the author as he deals with a growing crush on Daphne. I’m looking forward to the outdoor setting in this one!

Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren

I am so excited to pick up this Tangled inspired romance by Christina Lauren. It follows Ren, who was raised off the grid and finally enters the real world when she attends college. While there, she meets Fitz and is thrown into an unexpected road trip with him that challenges all their plans and brings them closer together. It’s going to be so much fun and a great addition to the Meant to Be series. Tangled also happens to be my favourite Disney movie, so I have high hopes for this one!!
