Happy Tuesday, everyone!
It’s the end of the long weekend here in Canada. I celebrated Thanksgiving with my family and it was great. The food coma is real!
Today’s Fall for Anne post is super exciting – and is one of my favourites! I absolutely love this entry series to Anne by Kallie George, and I hope you guys will too!
A very special thank you to Tundra Books for providing me with a paperback copy of Anne Arrives to review!TITLE: Anne ArrivesAUTHOR: Kallie George
Rating: ★★★★★ILLUSTRATOR: Abigail HalpinPAGES: 72PUBLISHER: Tundra BooksTARGET AUDIENCE: Middle Grade
GENRE(S): ClassicsThe charming first book in a new early-reader series, starring the spirited — and outspoken — Anne Shirley as she first arrives at Green Gables.
Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert need help on their farm, so they’ve adopted what they hope will be a sturdy, helpful boy. Instead, Matthew finds Anne awaiting him at the train station — imaginative, brash, redheaded Anne-with-an-e. With her place at the Cuthberts’ at risk — particularly if nosy neighbor Mrs. Lynde has anything to say about it — Anne will have to learn patience, understanding and what it takes to make Green Gables her true home.
Lovingly adapted by Kallie George with beautiful, nostalgic illustrations by Abigail Halpin, Anne Arrives is perfect for new fans of Anne and old.
Review
Anne Arrives is seriously one of the cutest early chapter books I’ve seen. As a teacher, I’ve seen so many different entry level books and this is one of my favourites.
Anne Arrives introduces early readers to the classic Anne of Green Gables through eight chapters. It follows the original storyline, in short and concise chapters. Essentially, it gets the story across without the length of the original story. I think it’s perfect for introducing young readers to classic stories. It gives a great introduction before they’re able to jump into the real thing!
The illustrations in this book are absolutely adorable. They are so crisp, colourful and expressive! My favourite is when Anne is angry with Mrs. Lynde – the expressions are priceless!
This is THE perfect book for introducing early readers to the classic Anne of Green Gables story. I highly recommend checking this one out – it’s perfect for teachers, parents and early readers!

This book brings back childhood memories. My late father read this book to me when I was young. I liked it so much I insisted that my teacher, Mr. S, read it to my class. Easily one of the best children’s books.
