After hearing about Ace of Shades, I’ve been excited to read it. I really thought it was going to be a book I love. While it was an enjoyable read, it’s definitely not a favourite. Ace of Shades follows Enne Salta as she travels to New Reynes, also known as the City of Sin, to find her mother. During this trip, she’s introduced to gangs, casinos and clues to a mysterious story she’s about to uncover.
Forget You by Jennifer Echols
A few years ago, I read this book on my KOBO during a family vacation. Since I recently got a physical copy, I’ve been curious to see if I enjoy it as much the second time around. Forget You follows Zoey who is in a car crash and can’t remember exactly what happened. While she remembers being pulled from the car, there are a lot of things she tries to piece together.
The Wicked King by Holly Black
Last year, my cousin Maddie read The Cruel Prince and quickly recommended it to me. It was a conflicting read for me but I was inspired to continue. I’m so happy that I enjoyed The Wicked King much more than the first book!
The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
After reading The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, I was so excited to read a book all about Felicity. But unfortunately, I’m just really disappointed in this book. The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy follows Felicity as she travels around Europe chasing her dream of becoming a doctor. Similar to the first book, there’s chaos, romance and adventure!
