January 2019 Reading Wrap Up
The first month of the year is done and today I’m sharing my January 2019 reading wrap up with you all! I managed to sneak in a lot of reading this month! Between school, supply teaching and life in general, I think I read a lot for a busy month!
Courting Darkness by Robin LaFevers Blog Tour
Courting Darkness is unlike anything I’ve ever read before, but I really liked it! Courting Darkness follows two characters, Sybella and Genevieve. While Sybella accompanies the duchess to France as she marries the French King, we also see Genevieve as she spies on the French court.
Only a Breath Apart by Katie McGarry
This is my second time reading a Katie McGarry book. While I enjoyed the first one more, this one is still good. Only a Breath Apart follows two childhood friends, Scarlett and Jesse. They’re both able to rekindle their friendship because of difficult moments in each of their lives. The book is definitely about acceptance, friendship as well as loyalty.
King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard
The Red Queen series has been a hit or miss for me. I really loved Red Queen but Glass Sword was a little underwhelming for me. Thankfully, I really enjoyed King’s Cage! King’s Cage picks up after the events of Glass Sword. There’s more politics, fighting and training. There’s also a lot of set up for the final book!
The Light Over London by Julia Kelly
I absolutely adored this book. It was perfect in every way. The Light Over London is a historical fiction that follows two women, Cara and Louise. Cara is a an antiques dealer who is slowly rebuilding her life after a recent divorce. Louise is a gunner girl for the British Army during World War II. When Cara finds Louise’s diary, she sets out to find the writer and return the diary.
