Birthday is one of my most anticipated reads. It’s an absolutely wonderful and beautiful book. It’s a book full of raw emotion and will certainly stick with me for a long time. Birthday follows Morgan and Eric, two friends born on the same day who have been best friends ever since. The book follows their shared birthdays between the ages of 13 and 18 as they go through emotional changes and try to find themselves.
The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
After reading The Kiss Quotient last year, I’ve been eagerly waiting for The Bride Test. I’m so happy that I loved this sequel as much as the first book! The Bride Test follows Khai, a young adult on the autism spectrum. His mother decides to travel to Vietnam to try and find him a wife. She ends up finding Esme, a cleaning lady from Vietnam and sends her to live with Khai for the summer.
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I am extremely late to the game, but I finally read Illuminae! Science fiction books are not usually my first choice of books. So it took me a while to get into the mood to read it. But, it’s such a fantastic book! I really love these characters. Kady is such a badass female character.
The Ghosteleers by Philip Beicken
Hashtag Press releases some really enjoyable middle grade books. The Ghosteleers is no exception! The Ghosteleers is a middle grade fantasy and adventure book. It follows Norman and his cat Morph who wake up in a new mysterious world. As a result, they join a team of Ghosteleers, who protect humans from harm using telekinetic powers!
Finale by Stephanie Garber
All games must come to an end! After reading Caraval, I was in love with the world and the wonderful characters. Legendary brings a brand new story as well as a new game. While Finale brings everything together, it’s not my favourite in this series.
