I’m a sucker for a great contemporary read and thankfully, Yes No Maybe So is one of those reads! Yes No Maybe So follows Jamie and Maya, two teenagers who canvas door-to-door for the upcoming senate election. While they are both incredibly different from one another, the experience brings them closer together. First of all, I adore these characters so much. Jamie is a really awkward teenager but he’s absolutely adorable.
Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
Cassandra Clare does it again! I swear her books just get better and that is certainly the case with Chain of Gold. Chain of Gold is the start of a brand new trilogy inside the world of Shadowhunters. Chain of Gold follows James and Lucie Herondale and their friends as they deal with a mysterious sickness spreading throughout the Shadowhunter world.
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas
Ever since hearing about Sarah J Maas’ first adult fantasy, I’ve been eagerly waiting its release! I was absolutely shocked when Raincoast Books sent me an ARC of it and let me tell you, this book did not disappoint! House of Earth and Blood follows Bryce, a half-human, half-fae, as she investigates the brutal murder of her friends. Hunt is a Fallen Angel who assists Bryce during the investigation in order to gain his freedom.
Faith: Taking Flight by Julie Murphy
After hearing about Faith: Taking Flight, I immediately added it to my list of books to read in 2020. The cover, the synopsis, the author and the diversity of the book totally caught my attention. While I enjoyed the book, I didn’t love it as much as I hoped I would.
Not Like the Movies by Kerry Winfrey
When I read Waiting for Tom Hanks last year, I immediately fell in love. Since then, I’ve been eagely waiting for the release of Not Like the Movies and I’m so happy to say that I loved it! Not Like the Movies follows Chloe, the best friend of the main character in the first book. She doesn’t believe in rom-coms or happy endings but doesn’t realize that love is right in front of her.
Love Her or Lose Her by Tessa Bailey
After reading Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey last year, I knew I would be reading more of her books. While the book was cheesy and cliche at times, it was really enjoyable. Love Her or Lose Her is no different!
Love Her or Lose Her follows Rosie and Dominic, a young married couple who both want more in their marriage. They ultimately decide to go to couple’s therapy to see if they can repair their marriage and achieve their dreams.
