Accidentally Engaged is my first Farah Heron novel and I really enjoyed it! I loved the writing, the Canadian setting and the overall story is so sweet. Accidentally Engaged follows Reena, a 31-year old who loves baking. While she attempts to please her family, she’s also chasing her own baking dreams. After entering a couples cooking competition, she pretends to be engaged to her neighbour Nadim.
Namesake by Adrienne Young
After reading Fable last year, I quickly fell in love with Adrienne Young’s writing and stories. I loved the book so much that it made my list of top ten favourite books for 2020. Namesake picks up after the events of the first book, Fable. The series follows Fable, a dredger who enlists the help of a trading ship to find her father. Once she’s able to find her father, she hopes to join his successful trading crew.
