I’ve recently added some more books to my shelves, so it’s time for my October 2017 book haul!
My reading hasn’t been as great as it was during the summer. I’m back at school, working towards my teaching degree. Obviously, that’s taking up the majority of my time.
But, I’m excited to share the books I’ve recently picked up. Hopefully I’ll get to read them soon!
I See London, I See France by Sarah Mlynowski: I love contemporary young adult and this one just seems so cute! It has a very similar vibe to Love, Lucy by April Lindner and Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch, that I just couldn’t pass it up. I’m really hoping I love this one!
The Anne of Green Gables Cookbook by Kate MacDonald: Anne of Green Gables is really special in my house. Lucy Maud Montgomery’s son, Stuart, was a doctor in Toronto. He happened to be my Grandmother’s doctor and delivered my mom into the world!
When we heard that his daughter was promoting the cookbook, we jumped at the chance to meet her and share our connection to her. Kate was absolutely wonderful to meet and was so pleased to hear my mom’s story. I’m so excited to try some of these recipes and immerse myself in Anne’s world!
The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer: While Twilight was an entertaining series, it was never my favourite. I enjoyed the books and the movies, but I didn’t obsess over it. However, Stephenie Meyer’s other novel The Host is one of my favourite books. I picked this one up at Costco and I’m hoping I enjoy this one as much as The Host. My hopes are high, so I hope it doesn’t disappoint!
The Young Elites by Marie Lu: While at my local Chapters recently, they asked if I wanted to donate two dollars to a local school and in exchange I got to ‘pick a date’ with a book. They had a bunch of books wrapped up in paper with a small sentence describing the book. I picked up the book that said: young adult read for the young and fearless. It happened to be The Young Elites and I’m excited to dive into it!
It really is fun to pick a book without knowing what it is!
Turtles All the Way Down by John Green: I recently went to an event at the Penguin Random House Canada offices. They gave me a coupon for 20% off at the Penguin Shop, which was so nice! I ended up picking up Turtles All the Way Down because it was a signed copy! I’m hoping I like John Green’s newest release!
Well, that’s my October 2017 book haul! I really hope I enjoy these books as much as I think I will.
Be sure to let me know in the comments below what you thought of these books!
