The publisher kindly provided me with a digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Trader. Fighter. Survivor.
With the Marigold ship free of her father, Fable and its crew were set to start over. That freedom is short-lived when she becomes a pawn in a notorious thugβs scheme. In order to get to her intended destination she must help him to secure a partnership with Holland, a powerful gem trader who is more than she seems.
As Fable descends deeper into a world of betrayal and deception she learns that her mother was keeping secrets, and those secrets are now putting the people Fable cares about in danger. If Fable is going to save them then she must risk everything, including the boy she loves and the home she has finally found.
Filled with action, emotion, and lyrical writing, New York Times bestselling author Adrienne Young returns with Namesake, the final book in the captivating Fable duology.
Namesake Review
After reading Fable last year, I quickly fell in love with Adrienne Young’s writing and stories. I loved the book so much that it made my list of top ten favourite books for 2020.
Namesake picks up after the events of the first book, Fable. The series follows Fable, a dredger who enlists the help of a trading ship to find her father. Once she’s able to find her father, she hopes to join his successful trading crew.
I absolutely loved these characters when I read Fable. But this is even more true with the sequel. Fable is a really interesting main character. She’s extremely guarded and is always steps ahead of those around her. But she’s also loyal, brave and cunning. She has a lot of growth in this sequel and I just love the conclusion to her story.
I also love the Marigold crew. While they tend to have their secrets, their desire to protect each other is really commendable. I love their banter with each other as well as their brutal honesty. This is especially the case with Willa and Fable. Willa has a way of being blunt and honest, all while making others grow.
The adventure in Namesake is just as big as it is in the first book. While the first book deals with Fable’s desire to reunite with her Father, I loved that this book digs deeper into her past. It’s a really interesting plot, especially compared to the first book, but it’s really satisfying.
Overall, I think Namesake is a wonderful conclusion to the Fable duology. It’s got adventure, mystery, and romance. It’s the perfect read for those wanting action and adventure but don’t want to dedicate themselves to a long series.
I absolutely adore Adrienne Young’s writing and I can’t wait to read more of her books!

So happy to see the good reviews for this one. Fable was one of my top ten favorites last year, as well. I didn’t get an ARC of Namesake, but I’ll hopefully get to pick it up soon. Great review!
