With the end of June, it’s the perfect time to share my June 2023 reading wrap up!
I can’t believe we’re already half way through the year. I feel like time is just going by so fast! Life is chaotic and busy — which means there’s less time to focus on my hobbies.
That being said, I had a really great reading month in June. It was my best reading month by far and I’m really hoping I can keep it up throughout the summer months. Cottage season is officially in full swing for me as of this weekend — I really can’t wait to soak in the warm weather and read in all my favourite spots!
In June, I read a total of eight books — three 2023 releases and five backlist titles. I’m still in a contemporary romance mood, but I managed to squeeze in a mystery as well!

June 2023 Reading Wrap Up
A Not So Meet Cute by Meghan Quinn. 2023 has been the year of Meghan Quinn for me, and I’m not mad about it! I really enjoyed A Not So Meet Cute — it was full of humour and had perfect fake dating vibes. I just really enjoy Meghan Quinn’s stories. Her writing draws me in and I’ve always enjoyed the overall plot and the characters she creates.
So Not Meant to Be by Meghan Quinn. After reading A Not So Meet Cute, I immediately jumped into the sequel. So Not Meant to Be is just as entertaining as the first book. I really enjoyed reading Kelsey and JP’s love story. It was definitely more of a slow-burn romance but I think it really worked for their overall story.
A Long Time Coming by Meghan Quinn. After reading So Not Meant to Be, I obviously needed to read the final book. Breaker’s story is definitely my favourite. It’s adorable seeing Breaker realize that his friendship with Lia really means something more to him. There’s a lot of tension and it’s definitely more of a slow burn, but this one is definitely my favourite in the series!
Untying the Knot by Meghan Quinn. After finishing The Cane Brothers series, I jumped into the standalone spinoff. I think you’re technically supposed to read it between So Not Meant to Be and A Long Time Coming but it’s not necessary. I enjoyed it but it wasn’t my favourite — it’s a solid romance but I definitely preferred The Cane Brothers series.
By Any Other Name by Lauren Kate. I needed to read a book with “other” in the title to complete the buzzwordathon prompt this month. I’ve wanted to read By Any Other Name for a while now and I’m glad I finally had a reason to pick it up. This was a super light and fluffy read — and so short! I think it was a solid romance and I’m glad it’s finally off of my TBR.
Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano. Since I picked up the first two books in the series earlier this year, I finally found time to read the third book. This is a solid addition to the series but it’s not my favourite. I really hope to see some more development in Finlay’s relationships in the next book — although a slow burn is understandable, I think it needs to progress a little bit more. Overall, I’m still really enjoying this series and am excited to see what happens next!
Borrow My Heart by Kasie West. I just adore Kasie West’s books — they’re so fun and are always the perfect summer read. Borrow My Heart was a cute premise and I enjoyed it. While it’s not my favourite of her books, I think it has sweet characters, adorable teen romance and and enjoyable plot that makes it worth picking up.
Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood. I’ve enjoyed all of Ali Hazelwood’s books so far but I think this one is at the top as my favourite! I really loved every minute of Love, Theoretically — I love the focus on STEM, the enemies-to-lovers vibes and Ali’s signature writing style. I definitely see myself re-reading this one sometime in the future.
Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon. I was really excited to pick up Rachel Lynn Solomon’s latest romance but this one falls a little flat for me. The romance was good and I loved the Jewish representation, but the overall storyline just didn’t flow for me. I also didn’t love the scripts that were included before chapters — to me, they just didn’t add to the story. It’s a decent book but it didn’t live up to my expectations.

Yay for a great reading month! I have so much Megan Quinn backlist to read. It’s a little overwhelming. 😉 And I agree that Love, Theoretically is my favorite of Hazelwood’s so far. Happy reading in July!
