June is officially coming to an end, which means it’s time to share my June 2022 reading wrap up!
So far this year, my reading has been all over the place. I’ve had months where my reading is terrible and barely read and some months where it’s been great.
June has been my best reading month this year! I’ve loved every minute that I’ve had to sit down and read. Plus, I’ve been thinking more about what books I want to read next — something I haven’t done much this year!
In June, I read a total of eight books — three 2022 releases, one 2021 release, one 2020 release and three backlist books. My romance and contemporary reading is still going strong this month! It’s interesting to see how this has continued throughout the year so far.
Overall, I’m really happy with my reading this month and I can’t wait to see what happens in July!

June 2022 Reading Wrap-Up
Love from Scratch by Kaitlyn Hill: I went into this one with so much hope. It sounded like the perfect read — a love for baking, a competitive relationship. And while it was an enjoyable read, it just fell flat. I wanted more out of it. But, I enjoyed the writing so I definitely will be checking out some of Kaitlyn Hill’s future books!
The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: With the TV show releasing on Prime, it was time for me to finally pick this series up. I’m so glad I did! This first book is so fun. I love the beach setting, the summer relationships and the overall plot! I did find there to be so much miscommunication between the characters which wasn’t a favourite of mine, but overall, it was a fun summer read.
It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han: I immediately jumped into the second book. This one definitely has a different vibe from the first book, but it’s still fun and enjoyable!
We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han: And to round out the trilogy, I quickly finished the last book in the series. I’m happy with this series. It’s not the best I’ve ever read, but it’s a quick, summer read that hit the spot. I immediately jumped into the TV series and so far I’m LOVING it — it’s even better than the books in my opinion.
Donut Fall in Love by Jackie Lau: I was really stuck as to what book to read for this month’s Buzzwordathon prompt. Looking for a book to read that I had on my TBR with the word “all” in it was hard. I decided to finally read Donut Fall in Love. It was a really sweet and charming read, perfect for fans of The Great British Baking Show — plus, I loved the Toronto setting!
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson: I read this one as a buddy read with a friend! I have heard so many great things about this book so I went in with high expectations. I’m really happy to say that I enjoyed it! It’s a pretty solid young adult mystery and I’m hoping to pick up the sequel sometime soon.
A Thousand Miles by Bridget Morrissey: Another cute and sweet romance this month! This is a solid friends to lovers romance with a road trip that so many will enjoy. It’s definitely a great option for a beach read!
The Charmed List by Julie Abe: I absolutely adored every second of this book! The rivalry, the magic, the story. Every minute of this book is a pure delight and I can’t wait to read more of Julie Abe’s young adult books in the future!
