Now that August is in full swing, it’s the perfect time to share my July 2023 reading wrap up!
This summer has been flying by and I can’t believe we’re already in August.
I’m soaking in all the warm weather and sunny days at the cottage as best as I can. I’ve been reading and spending time with my family, especially after a busy and stressful first half of the year.
While my blog has been really neglected (oops), my reading hasn’t been suffering.
I’m hoping to give myself a little more grace during the rest of August and plan for a reset of the blog in September. Here’s hoping I can get back into the swing of things — and providing you all with some incredible book recommendations!
In July, I only managed to read two books — but, those books were both 800 pages long! While the book count may be low, I managed to read two great books, and check off another book on my list of books I hope to read this year!

July 2023 Reading Wrap Up
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas. I was lucky enough to read an advance copy of House of Earth and Blood before it released in 2020. I absolutely loved it but it’s been so long since I read it, I knew I needed a refresh before jumping into the second book. I’m so glad I read this book again because it was just as good as the first time I read it! Full of action and I loved the mystery aspect to it. The worlds and stories that Sarah J Maas creates are so addicting!
House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J Maas. After finishing House of Earth and Blood, I immediately jumped into House of Sky and Breath. I did find this book to be a slower read for me — it really didn’t grab me like the first book did. Once I hit the halfway mark, it picked up for me and I just couldn’t put it down. And THAT ENDING!! I can’t believe I have to wait until January for the third book. I just can’t wait to see what happens next!
