It’s hard to believe that we’re already into August — which means it’s time to share my July 2022 reading wrap up!
I’m sounding like a broken record at this point, but this year really is going by so fast. It’s hard to believe that we’re in the last month of summer and September is just around the corner.
I had a great reading month in July. I’ve been spending a lot of my time up at the cottage which has been so fun. It’s just such a great place to be and does so much good for my soul. My heart is happy when I’m at the cottage.
It’s also great for my reading! In July I read a total of eight books — four 2022 releases, one 2020 release and three backlist books. I read a mixture of genres this month which makes me so happy to see!
Overall, I’m really pleased with how my reading went this month! I’m really hoping I’ll be able to keep it up in August.

July 2022 Reading Wrap Up
Stuck With You by Ali Hazelwood. I’m really enjoying the release of romance novellas this year and this one is another cute read! It’s sweet and definitely enjoyable, but certainly not my favourite read from Ali. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the novella series though!
Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare. This was a re-read for me this month and I loved it just as much as the first time around. I just love the worlds that Cassandra Clare creates and her stories always draw me in. I’m so excited to jump into Chain of Iron and see how the story continues!
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. It’s about time I finally read this book and I’m so glad I did. I absolutely loved every minute of this book and it’s so important for everyone to read at some point. It’s such a heartfelt story with important messages. Now it’s time to watch the movie!
Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie. Another Agatha Christie novel complete! I’m really enjoying her stories and there’s definitely a reason why she’s seen as the Queen of Mystery. While this isn’t my favourite of her books, I still enjoyed it and am excited to pick up more in the future!
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire. This book has been on my list to read for so long now and I finally got around to reading it. I enjoyed it and really liked the whimsical characters! I’m definitely looking forward to continuing the series. The size of the book is such a bonus too! It’s short and sweet but packs a lot of punch!
The Boy with the Bookstore by Sarah Echavarre Smith. I went into this book with high expectations and unfortunately feel like this one fell a little flat for me. I’ve read most of Sarah Smith’s books and I’ve always enjoyed them but this one didn’t work for me. There was a lot of miscommunication in this one and so many instances where problems occurred that didn’t need to happen. It still captured my attention, it just isn’t my favourite of her books.
The Missed Connection by Denise Williams. At this point, I would read Denise Williams’ grocery list. This novella series is just so cute and I’m loving each one. I can’t wait to read The Sweetest Connection sometime in August!
Something Wilder by Christina Lauren. I’m a big fan of Christina Lauren’s books — especially The Unhoneymooners. This one is so different from their other books but I am pleasantly surprised. It’s not my favourite of their books but it’s still a fun adventure with second chance romance and lovable characters.

Yay so glad you read The Hate U Give! It’s an amazing book. I recently finished reading the prequel, Concrete Rose – that was very good too. Happy reading in August, Victoria!
