It’s hard to believe that it’s time to share my January 2023 reading wrap up!
With the start of a new year, I wanted to have a great reading month. Thankfully, I accomplished that!
I also set my new reading goals for the year. I want to complete 50 books for the Goodreads Reading Challenge, something I have been able to complete the past few years. I’m also participating in several other reading challenges — the Popsugar reading challenge, the A to Z reading challenge and the Buzzwordathon.
Another challenge I’ve set for myself is to read ten books from my shelves. While I haven’t been successful with this in the past, I’m really making an attempt this year to be more aware of what I already own.
In January, I read a total of ten books — five brand new releases and five backlist titles.
I’m so happy with my reading month and I’m hoping I can continue the momentum in February!

January 2023 Reading Wrap Up
Begin Again by Emma Lord. Every year since Emma Lord’s debut, I’ve started the year off with one of her books. I enjoyed her newest release! While it’s not my favourite of her books, there are a lot of elements in this book that I enjoyed. I’ll always pick up her books and I’m definitely looking forward to what she comes out with next!
They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera. One of the prompts for the Popsugar reading challenge is to read a book a friend would recommend. I reached out to a friend and he recommended They Both Die at the End. I really enjoyed this book and I’m so glad I finally picked it up. I’ll be curious to read more of Adam Silvera’s books in the future!
Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert. I love Talia Hibbert’s adult romance books, so I was looking forward to her young adult debut. This one is so cute and definitely has a lot of elements I enjoyed. While I still prefer her adult books, I still recommend this one.
Below Zero by Ali Hazelwood. I finally got a chance to read the final story in the STEMinist Novellas. This one is super cute and just like the other two, I really enjoyed it. I like Ali’s writing and the romance is really satisfying. I can’t wait for her next novel this year!
Exes and O’s by Amy Lea. After reading Set on You and loving it, I really didn’t know if Exes and O’s could top it. Spoiler alert: it totally did and it is my first five star read of the year. I loved every minute of this book and can’t wait for what Amy Lea releases next!
Do I Know You? by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka. I am a huge fan of Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka’s young adult books. Unfortunately, I’ve had a mixed reaction to their adult books. While there are aspects of this book I enjoyed, there are also some parts that I didn’t love. Overall, it is a solid book but not up there as a favourite from these authors.
The One Night by Meghan Quinn. After reading Resting Scrooge Face last month, I wanted to pick up another book by Meghan Quinn. I really liked this novella — the characters are so cute and I love how it set everything up for the story in The Reunion.
The Reunion by Meghan Quinn. I really loved The Reunion! With six points of view, I thought things would get a bit complicated. But every minute of this book was enjoyable. I love the romance, I love the family drama and I also love the way this family comes together in the end. It’s so cute and I definitely want to read more from her in the future! It’s also available on Kindle Unlimited.
The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie. I’m slowly reading more books by Agatha Christie. While The ABC Murders is not my favourite of her books, I still enjoyed it. This is another book by Agatha Christie that got me in the end — my guess was completely wrong. I’m so excited to read more books by Agatha Christie soon!
Seven Percent of Ro Devereux by Ellen O’Clover. There’s nothing better than a good young adult contemporary and Seven Percent of Ro Devereux totally hit the mark. It’s a sweet contemporary with a heavy focus on grief and finding your place in life. I definitely have Ellen O’Clover on my list of authors to check out in the future!

What a great reading month! I just won Do I Know You? in a Goodreads Giveaway. I read the first few chapters and it didn’t grab me right away, but I’ll give it another try later on. Loved The One Night and The Reunion, too. I was also so impressed that 6 POVs worked! Happy reading in February!
