Well, January is officially over. It’s crazy that we’re already a month into 2018! But with another month done, comes my January 2018 reading wrap-up!
While I post my book reviews to my blog, I figured a monthly wrap-up is a great way to catch up on my recent reads! Here is my January 2018 reading wrap-up!
The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand: This book is a great festive read that’s perfect for the Christmas season! I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters. Plus, there were lots of twists that I didn’t expect. It totally made the book unpredictable!
S.T.A.G.S by M.A. Bennett: I joined in on the PenguinTeen Canada blog tour for this book! It’s a suspenseful book, even though it was a little bit slow. I’m curious to see if there is a sequel based on the ending!
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas: This was my first book by Sarah J. Maas! My cousin Maddie made the recommendation and I’m so glad she did! This world totally sweeps you up and I can’t wait to continue with the series!
A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro: I really did not enjoy this book and I’m so bummed. I really, really hoped I would love it. I love all things Sherlock Holmes and a modern retelling seemed like the perfect book. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t for me.
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard: Overall, this is a solid sequel to Red Queen. While suprising at times, it’s a bit underwhelming. Victoria Aveyard’s writing and world building is still impeccable – so I’m going to keep going with the series!
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: This book totally makes me a Sarah J. Maas follower. I adore the writing and this perfect, perfect story. The hype surrounding this book is just so right. I immediately jumped into the second book!
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas: I thought the first book was amazing, but this book totally exceeded all of my expections. This book is absolutely incredible! It will forever be one of my all-time favourite books. I can’t wait to finish this series and read A Court of Frost and Starlight when it releases this year!
Seven books in one month! This is totally a record for me – especially for a month that isn’t in the summer! Now that I’m back in school full time and teaching, we’ll see how many books I fit into my schedule for February!
Let me know in the comments what books you read in January!
