House of Sky and Breath Book Review
It’s been a while since I picked up House of Earth and Blood. With the final book in the Crescent City releasing early next year, I knew it was time to pick up the sequel and I’m glad I did because I loved it!
House of Sky and Breath picks up after the events of House of Earth and Blood. Without any spoilers, the series follows Bryce, a half-human and half-fae, who investigates the murders of her closest friends. Hunt, a Fallen Angel, assists Bryce in the investigation in order to earn his freedom.
Just like the first book, I adored the characters. Bryce grows so much throughout this book and it makes her even more enjoyable. Sarah J Maas has such an ability at writing captivating and powerful female leads, and Bryce is no different.
Hunt is also incredibly enjoyable throughout this book. It’s really interesting to see the shift in his relationship with Bryce and the way it informs his decisions. I really am looking forward to seeing what happens with his character arc in the final book.
The overall plot is engaging and full of epic adventures. While some moments were slow, and I do prefer the plot of the first book more, it’s still a great read. It’s long and full of information, but it leaves you desperately wanting more.
I also have to say that the ending literally made my jaw drop. While I was excited for the final book in general, the ending solidified my need to read it as soon as it releases.
Overall, House of Sky and Breath is a great addition to the Crescent City series. It’s another fantasic story by Sarah J Maas that really delivers both with plot and characters.
If you’re looking for an epic fantasy series that will keep you entertained from the first page, you’ll certainly want to pick up these books.
