Chloe Brown is a chronically ill computer geek with a goal, a plan, and a list. After almost — but not quite — dying, she’s come up with seven directives to help her “Get a Life”, and she’s already completed the first: finally moving out of her glamorous family’s mansion. The next items?
– Enjoy a drunken night out
– Ride a motorcycle.
– Go camping.
– Have meaningless but thoroughly enjoyable sex.
– Travel the world with nothing but hand luggage.
– And … do something bad.
But it’s not easy being bad, even when you’ve written step-by-step guidelines on how to do it correctly. What Chloe needs is a teacher, and she knows just the man for the job.
Redford ‘Red’ Morgan is a handyman with tattoos, a motorcycle, and more sex appeal than ten-thousand Hollywood heartthrobs. He’s also an artist who paints at night and hides his work in the light of day, which Chloe knows because she spies on him occasionally. Just the teeniest, tiniest bit.
But when she enlists Red in her mission to rebel, she learns things about him that no spy session could teach her. Like why he clearly resents Chloe’s wealthy background. And why he never shows his art to anyone. And what really lies beneath his rough exterior …
Get a Life, Chloe Brown Review
Within the past year, I’ve become a huge fan of adult romance books. I especially love the rom-coms that have been releasing. Get a Life, Chloe Brown is no exception, it’s a wonderful read.
Get a Life, Chloe Brown follows Chloe, a chronically ill young adult who puts together a list to help her “get a life”. The list is designed to get her out of her comfort zone, but it really brings her a new life and love.
Chloe Brown is one of the best characters I’ve read. She’s absolutely adorable and someone you can’t help but love. While she is snobby and sarcastic at times, she’s also caring and loving. She’s absolutely fantastic.
Red is also a great charactter! He’s the complete opposite of Chloe Brown in many ways but his character has such depth. His past and his painting really make him who he is. Because of this, I think his character adds a lot of enjoyment to this book.
The romance in this book is fantastic. It’s the right amount of everything. From passion to lust to inevitable love, Talia Hibbert is an expert at romance. There’s something for every romance reader to find enjoyable in this book, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I also love the representation in this book. The characters are so diverse and it’s amazing to see the connection between them all. Talia Hibbert clearly has a way of writing really engaging characters.
There is also the inclusion of fibromiyalgia. Chloe Brown struggles with chronic illness and pushes people away because of it. I absolutely loved this because I think it’s such an accurate representation of an invisible illness.
Chloe’s illness plays an important role in her past and current life. I think it really helps the story and really brings awareness to the struggles of those who are chronically ill. I really commend Talia Hibbert for including it.
Overall, Get a Life, Chloe Brown is a wonderful and enjoyable book. It’s such a wonderful book and I can’t wait to read more books by Talia Hibbert in the future. I highly recommend reading this book if you haven’t already!

About the Author
Talia Hibbert is a USA Today bestselliing author who lives in a bedroom full of books. Supposedly, there is a world beyond that room, but she has yet to drum up enough interest to investigate. She writes sexy, diverse romance because she believes that people of marginalised identities need honest and positive representation. Her interests include beauty, junk food, and unnecessary sarcasm. She also rambles intermittently about the romance genre online.
