2020 was a great reading year for a lot of people. But for me, I ended up re-reading a lot of books. I wanted the comfort, the predictability and the relaxation. So today, I’m sharing a list of 10 books I meant to read in 2020.
Now that it’s a brand new year, I’m hoping to get back into reading new releases and backlist books. Although, I’m sure I’ll sneak in a few re-reads when I need the comfort.
All of these books I meant to read in 2020 were brand new releases, and I’m hoping to get to them this year! I’d love to hear your thoughts on these books if you read them, so please let me know in the comments!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where she assigns a new topic each week and we post a top ten list to go along with the theme!
A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir: I absolutely love An Ember in the Ashes series. It’s the only series I’ve given 5 stars to every book. I can’t wait to see how everything ends, although I know it’s going to be emotional! I’m hoping to read the first 3 books again before reading A Sky Beyond the Storm.
Love & Olives by Jenna Evans Welch: I enjoyed both Love & Gelato and Love & Luck. They’re such cute contemporary novels that definitely leave you wanting to travel. I’m Greek so I’m particularly excited to read Love & Olives!
Moment of Truth by Kasie West: I love everything Kasie West writes! I can’t believe I haven’t picked up her newest release yet. I’m hoping to re-read her books this year and also pick up Moment of Truth!
Party of Two by Jasmine Guillory: I’m a big fan of Jasmine Guillory’s books — they’re light, fluffy and always entertaining. I meant to read Party of Two when it released, but didn’t get to it. I’m hoping to read it before the release of her new book this summer!
Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert: I absolutely LOVED Get a Life, Chloe Brown. Everything about it was pure perfection. So yes, I’m a little shocked I haven’t read the sequel yet but I am READY!
The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson: I really enjoyed this young adult mystery series and I’m excited to see how everything wraps up. I hope to get to this final book before the release of The Box in the Woods.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab: I have heard nothing but rave reviews for The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I really wanted to get to this one in the fall when it released, but didn’t. I’m hoping to finally read it sometime this year.
The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu: While I don’t read a lot of historical fiction, this is one I was really excited to read. The cover is gorgeous and the synopsis sounds so appealing. I hope I love it when I read it!
The Lost Book of the White by Cassandra Clare: I usually always pick up Cassandra Clare’s books as soon as they release. But, again, I was going for comfort reads which were a lot of contemporary and romance books. I’m looking forward to seeing what Magnus and Alec get up to in this next book!
The Princess Will Save You by Sarah Henning: I love The Princess Bride. It’s one of my all time favourite movies. While I had every intention of reading this book last summer, I didn’t.

I meant to read Party of Two as well! I normally read the books in that series as soon as they come out.

I haven’t read any of these, but I do love Kasie West. Her books are so fun! I’m way behind on reading her, though. I also need to go back and re-read TRULY DEVIOUS, then binge-read the rest of the series. It’s been too long since I read the first book – I can’t remember who’s who and what’s what! I hope you enjoy all these when you get to them 🙂
Happy TTT!

I’m anxious to read Love & Olives, as well. I still need to read both books in The Eldest Curses series. 🙂

This is such an amazing list of books! I loved Addie LaRue! I hope you get to some of these this year. I really wanted to get to A Sky Beyond the Storm but didn’t make it before the end of the year! I’m also terrified. hahaha

Fun list! I enjoyed Jenna’s novel; have to read this last (*sad face*) book by Kasie West (at least until Sunkissed!); and still need to read book two in Maureen Johnson’s mystery series. Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland on this week, Victoria; apologies for the delay in visiting here. Hope you enjoy all of these! 🙂
