We’re already a couple of weeks into the new year, and my reading is going well so far. While I don’t set lots of reading goals for myself, there are 10 books I hope to read in 2021!
This week’s theme is resolutions and hopes for 2021. One of my reading goals is to complete the Goodreads reading challenge by reading 50 books.
Another reading goal for this year is to complete one book a month for the Buzzwordathon. I’m also trying to participate in the PopSugar Reading Challenge, but not putting any pressure on myself to complete it.
My final reading goal is to read 10 books throughout the year that have been sitting on my TBR for what feels like forever. Some of these books have been hyped up, some I know I’m going to love, and some it’s just time I finally read them. So today, I’m sharing the 10 books I hope to read in 2021.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, where she assigns a new topic each week and we post a top ten list to go along with the theme!
10 Books to Read in 2021
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire: I have been wanting to read this series for what feels like forever! I finally have the first book in my posession and I’m so excited to dive in. I’ve heard incredible things!!
Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren: I’ve read a few Christina Lauren books now but I’m determined to read more! Josh & Hazel’s Guide has been on my shelf the longest, so I plan to start with it! I have a feeling I’m going to like this one.
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston: I can’t believe I haven’t read this book yet. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things. My wonderful bookish friends, Flavia, Milana, Hollis and Brittany kindly gifted me this book for my birthday!
The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by Jenn Bennett: I’m a huge fan of Jenn Bennett and this is just one of three of her books I haven’t read yet. Since it’s been on my shelf the longest, it’s about time I pick it up! I just know I’m going to love it – I love all her books!
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas: It is finally time that I sit down and read The Hate U Give. I know this is going to be a favourite read. But I know it’s going to be super emotional, which is why I keep pushing it off. It’s time that I make it a priority because I know it’s going to be an incredible book.
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan: I have always wanted to read the Percy Jackson series. With the upcoming television adaptation, I want to try reading the series before. I love reading the books before the adaptation so I can compare!
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton: This mystery has been sitting on my shelf since it released. While I probably won’t read this until the fall, I still hope to read it this year. I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’m looking forward to finally trying it!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid: Another book that has been sitting on my shelf just waiting for me to read it. A lot of friends rave about this book and I’m optimistic that I’ll love it!
The Simple Wild by KA Tucker: My cousins absolutely adores The Simple Wild. It’s been sitting on my shelf for a little while now and I’m excited to finally try it. I think it’s going to be an emotional romance but I’m ready!
Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman: After reading Scythe two years ago, it’s time I finally get to Thunderhead. My hope is to read the trilogy back to back with a friend, so hopefully that works out!

Looks like you’ve got a great list of books to read this year! I can’t recommend Thunderhead enough, although I stroooongly suggest you have The Toll on hand and ready, because the cliffie at the end will steal your soul. xD I read it when it was released, and I don’t think I’ve fully recovered from having to wait a whole year yet. I really need to read Evelyn Hardcastle, too!
Here’s my TTT post.

I’m so excited to continue the trilogy! I have both Thunderhead and The Toll, so I’m glad you recommend that! I hate waiting after a crazy cliffhanger haha! 😅

I’m doing the PopSugar challenge, too! I completed it last year, so I’m confident I can do it again. I’m not stressing about it, though. I hope you love all these books.
Happy TTT!

I discovered the challenge about half way through last year and even with that, I was able to check off a lot of the prompts. I didn’t complete them all but I got close! I’m hoping I can actually complete it this year, now that I have more time to plan! Happy reading 😊

I love Percy Jackson! I might need to reread it.
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle & The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo have been hanging out on my TBR for so long, They look so good, but the library never has a copy when I’m out of reading material.
Hope you can read all of these!

So happy to hear that! I’m so excited to FINALLY read it 😊
I know exactly how you feel! The library is amazing but it’s hard to get things when you actually want to read them. Hope you get around to them at some point. Happy reading!

Oooh, I finally read The Simple Wild, Wild at Heart, and Forever Wild last year and I loved it so much! I will definitely be rereading them in the future. And I read Josh and Hazel last year, as well. It was super cute! Happy reading in 2021!

I know I’m going to love The Hate U Give. I always pushed it off because of the emotional side of it but I’m so excited to finally read it. It’s time! And super excited for Evelyn Hardcastle too! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed both of them 😊
