After an injury ends Travis Ford’s major league baseball career, he returns home to start over. He just wants to hammer out his frustrations at his new construction gig and forget all about his glory days. But he can’t even walk through town without someone recapping his greatest hits. Or making a joke about his… bat. And then there’s Georgie, his buddy’s little sister, who is definitely not a kid anymore.
Georgette Castle has crushed on her older brother’s best friend for years. The grumpy, bear of a man working for her family’s house flipping business is a far cry from the charming sports star she used to know. But a moody scowl doesn’t scare her and Georgie’s determined to show Travis he’s more than a pretty face and a batting average, even if it means putting her feelings aside to be “just friends.”
Travis wants to brood in peace. But the girl he used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman who makes him feel whole again. And he wants her. So damn bad. Except Georgie’s off limits and he knows he can’t give her what she deserves. But she’s becoming the air he breathes and Travis can’t stay away, no matter how hard he tries…
Wowza! What a steamy, steamy read! These steamy romances seem to be all the rage these days and this book is no different! It’s a great read that is super addicting!
Fix Her Up follows Georgie and her brother’s best friend, Travis. Georgie is a clown for birthday parties and is trying her absolute best to prove to her family that she can run her own business. Travis is a former professional baseball player who is struggling to come to grips with his injury and lack of career.
Oh. My. God. These characters. Georgie is definitely the star of this book and I absolutely adore her. Yes this book is a romance but I also feel like it’s a coming of age story. Georgie’s family does not take her and her career seriously. She’s constantly having to prove herself and I feel like she does such a good job at standing up for herself.
Travis is a great romantic character and I think I really enjoyed the way Georgie deals with him. She’s a spit-fire and doesn’t allow him to mess with her. The fake-romance/relationship between Georgie and Travis is cute. It clearly benefits both of them and it’s sweet how it turns into something more.
While the romance in this book is super steamy, I think it sometimes has it flaws. I think it’s important going into this book not to take it seriously, and just enjoy the fantasy of it … it is fiction after all. I think it can sometimes become annoying (i.e. the silly nicknames) and it’s important not to take it at face value. If I’m being honest, Georgie is way better than Travis and he kind of doesn’t deserve her.
Overall, it’s a fast and addicting read. It’s perfect for something fast and when you want something steamy. But please know that there are numerous explicit scenes in this book (the cover can be very misleading, ha)!

About The Author
Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.
Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.
She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eleven years and seven-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
