It’s time for my June 2019 Wrap Up!

But seriously, how is it JULY?! I’m in total shock that we’re already half way through 2019.

I just had a wonderful long weekend (Happy belated Canada Day to all my Canadian friends πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦)! And it was so so nice to just unwind and relax and somewhat unplug from technology – it was well needed! But it’s also been a crazy week, which is why this post is a little delayed!

I had a decent reading month and I’m quite pleased! One book took me so long to read so I was doubting my ability to read a fair number of books this month but I still did!!

Let’s talk about the books I managed to read this month! ✨

The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson - The Contented Reader
War Storm by Victoria Aveyard - The Contented Reader

The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson // β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜† // I read Truly Devious for the first time last month and it was a really fun read. But this sequel was much better in my opinion! I absolutely love the flashbacks to the 30’s and I’m excited to see what happens in the final book next year!

War Storm by Victoria Aveyard // β˜…β˜…β˜†β˜†β˜† (2.75) // Ughh, this book was a tough one. I really like Victoria Aveyard and her writing but this was a difficult book to read. It took me forever to get through and it was just really disappointing overall. I feel like not much happened.

Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart - The Contented Reader

The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West //Β β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†β˜† (3.5)Β // I just love Kasie West – her books are so cute and fluffy. I’m trying to catch up on all of them and I’m almost there! This one is sweet and charming, a perfect read for summer.

Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart // β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†Β  // I absolutely loved this book. It’s so well written and the characters are such strong and powerful women. It’s amazing to see the character development throughout this book!

Queen of Ruin by Tracy Banghart - The Contented Reader
On the Fence by Kasie West - The Contented Reader

Queen of Ruin by Tracy Banghart //Β β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜† // I am so happy I could jump right into this after finishing the first book. It’s such a great end to the duology and I’m kind of sad that it’s over now! I’m really excited to read more from Banghart in the future.

On the Fence by Kasie West // β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†Β  // This Kasie West unfortunately gets a lot of low ratings from people on Goodreads, and it’s totally valid since reading is subjective. But I really loved it! I think it’s super cute and I loved the characters and their witty banter with each other!

Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey Book Cover
Maybe this Time by Kasie West - The Contented Reader

Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey // β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… // Oh my, oh my. This book is SOO good. It’s so steamy and just overall, a great read. I highly, highly recommend this book – especially if you’re looking for a quick romance read!

Maybe This Time by Kasie West // β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†β˜† (3.5) // I saw this book out early at my local bookstore so I decided to pick it up. It’s such a classic Kasie West, but unfortunately not one of my favourites. It’s a really easy and quick read though!
