It’s crazy that it’s time for my May 2019 Wrap-Up! Another month is done and I’m really happy with all the reading I did this month.
I’m so sorry that this post is a little late! I lost access to internet this weekend at my cottage while I was scheduling my posts for the week. I’m back at home now and thankfully, am back on track with posting!
Let’s take a look at the books I managed to read this month! ✨
Finale by Stephanie Garber // ★★★★☆ // While this is a good end to the Caraval series, it’s not my favourite book. I adore these characters and the whole world. But the story feels like it’s missing something. Be sure to check out my review for more thoughts!
The Bride Test by Helen Hoang // ★★★★★ // I absolutely loved The Kiss Quotient – it totally lives up to the hype for me. The Bride Test is just as good of a read – it’s super sweet. Be sure to check out my review for more thoughts!
Birthday by Meredith Russo // ★★★★☆ (4.5) // This book is such an important read that so many people should check out. It’s my first Meredith Russo book but I really want to read more by her in the future. Thank you to Raincoast for inviting me to join the blog tour!
When Summer Ends by Jessica Pennington // ★★★☆☆ // This is a perfect read when you just need a light and easy contemporary book. It’s not my favourite but it’s enjoyable nonetheless!
The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen // ★★★★☆ // The Queen of Contemporary is back with a new book and I am so happy! Sarah Dessen is one of my favourite auto-buy authors and her newest release does not disappoint! Be sure to check out my review for more of my thoughts!
Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey // ★★★★☆ (4.5) // I really really love this contemporary romance. It’s just so sweet and adorable and oh-so relatable. The characters are just charming and the entire plot is super cute!
Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson // ★★★☆☆ // This series is SO popular! It certainly is not my favourite mystery but it left me wanting more. I’m curious to see how things continue in The Vanishing Stair. I can’t wait for more flashbacks to the 1930s!
I’ll Be There For You by Kelsey Miller // ★★★☆☆ // I absolutely love the TV show Friends! I enjoyed reading this but I also want more from it. I went into reading it expecting to find some more inside information and cast interviews, but alas, I was wrong.
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie // ★★★★☆ // I finally read my first Agatha Christie book and I loved it! I really hope to read more of her books in the future. This book left me guessing the whole time and any ideas I had, were totally wrong and the ending really surprised me!
Overall, I’m happy with this reading month. I think there is a great mix of ARCs, backlist books and books that I just really wanted to read!
Let’s hope June is just as productive in terms of reading! Let me know down below how your reading month went! What book are you most excited to read in June? 🌸
