It’s my October Wrap-Up!! How on earth is today the last day of October?! It’s Halloween and super exciting but I’m also in shock that we only have two months left of 2018. It feels like yesterday it was Christmas of last year!!

This month was filled with ARCs and new releases and it also turns out to be one of my BEST reading months! I honestly thought with all the releases this month, I would fall behind, but I didn’t! Yay for me!

Let’s take a look at the books I read this month!

A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir - The Contented Reader
When We Caught Fire by Anna Godbersen - The Contented Reader

A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir // ★★★★★ // THIS BOOK IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. Actually, this entire series is just fantastic and I love it. I can’t wait to read the next book!

When We Caught Fire by Anna Godbersen // ★★★☆☆ //  While I was a big fan of The Luxe, this one fell flat for me. I still found it enjoyable, but I think my expectations were too high. Feel free to check out my review, here!

The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket - The Contented Reader
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee - The Contented Reader

The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket // ★★★☆☆ // This is a great start to the classic middle grade series (and a big focus of my Middle Grade Monday feature). While it’s not my favourite, its a good start. Feel free to read my review, here!

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee // ★★★★ // I really, really enjoyed my re-read of this one! It’s such a fun adventure and I love Monty and Percy so, so much! And Felicity is just so great!

What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera - The Contented Reader

What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera // ★★★★ // I absolutely adore this story. I really, really hope that Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera team up again because their writing just completely compliments the other. Ugh, such a good book. Feel free to check out my review, here!

A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi // ★★★★★ // This book stole my heart. I honestly think this is one of the best books I’ve read all year. It’s timely and heartwarming and such an incredibly important story! Please feel free to read my review, here!

The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket - The Contented Reader
The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee - The Contented Reader

The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket // ★★★★ // This is one of my favourites in the Series of Unfortunate Events. Uncle Monty always makes me laugh – I mean, his name is Montgomery Montgomery, ha! Feel free to check out my review, here!

The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee // ★★★☆☆ // I went into this read with HIGH expectations because I love Felicity so, so much! While this book started off great, it just took a turn for me and ultimately fell flat.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs // ★★★☆☆ // I listened to this one over the course of the month on audio in my car during my trips to the cottage. Overall the book is okay. I did enjoy the listening experience but the book, in my opinion, is not the greatest story. At this point, I don’t feel an urge to continue.
