On August 26th, I was extremely lucky to attend HCC Frenzy Presents Fall Preview, hosted by HarperCollins Canada! This was my second time attending the event. I first went in April to hear about their upcoming spring titles.
I also had the opportunity to arrive at the event a couple of hours early to film some exclusive content with HCC Frenzy, Harlequin Teen and Laurie Forest in anticipation of the September release of The Iron Flower! I’m incredibly excited to share that content very soon!
The event was perfectly planned, with cute décor and a wonderful selection of food and drinks. The team at HCC Frenzy are amazing and so easy to work with. It was a great opportunity to get to socialize with them outside of the realm of social media and e-mails!
HCC Frenzy Presents Event
To start off the event, members of the HCC Frenzy team took turns to introduce themselves. Then, they jumped into talking about upcoming releases that they’re all excited for – and now, so am I!
In addition to hearing about their upcoming fall titles, we played some Book Nerd Questions, courtesy of Epic Reads. It’s exciting to see how similar everyone’s answers were. We clearly are a community with similar interests and opinions about YA books.
We also enjoyed watching The Hate U Give trailer, with a special video with Angie Thomas who talked about her upcoming book, On the Come Up. Additionally, Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli graced us with a video, talking about their upcoming release, What If It’s Us! To top it all off, Adam Silvera liked my tweet about the upcoming release!
The featured author for this event was Laurie Forest, the author of The Black Witch series. It was incredibly interesting to hear her talk about the series. Her inspiration behind the novel is eye-opening and is still emotional to her, even after completing two of the four books. HCC Frenzy kindly gifted us a paperback copy of The Black Witch and an ARC of its sequel, The Iron Flower!
Towards the end of the event, we were able to chat with Laurie Forest and get our books signed, which was a great opportunity!
Overall, I am so incredibly happy to have been invited to this event, for the second time. I always love working with HarperCollins and I am looking forward to sharing these upcoming fall book titles with all of you. I know you’ll love them just as much as I do!
Be sure to keep an eye out for my next two blog posts for more about HCC Frenzy Presents!
