Happy Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s topic is book series I’ve given up on/don’t plan on finishing. But I’ve decided to switch things up and talk about series that I would really like to finish, and sometime soon.
I love blogging about books, even as much as I love reading books. But the one problem that comes along with it is the mountain of books I have that have not been touched. Because of this, sometimes I find series are the first to be pushed back because there are new and exciting releases that I must get my hands on!!
So, with that, I’m hoping this list will push me to finish series that I’ve been meaning to finish or at least catch up with for a while! Please, note that some of these series are not officially finished yet – they’re on the list purely because of my desire to officially catch up!
Throne of Glass
I definitely was late to the game when it came to reading books written by Sarah J. Maas. In January, I quickly jumped on the bandwagon after reading ACOTAR and then jumped into the Throne of Glass world. I’ve read the first two and just purchased the next two in the series. I’m hoping to catch up by the time the final book, Kingdom of Ash is released in the fall! Fingers crossed!
I love the Red Queen series. I’ve read the first three books but haven’t had the chance to read War Storm. My friends went down to a book signing with Victoria Aveyard for me when she visited Toronto and I can’t wait to finish off her series, especially now that my books are signed! I plan on re-reading King’s Cage, in order to post a review and then moving on to War Storm.
Carve the Mark
I have both of the books in this duology and yet have not read them. I started Carve the Mark and ended up moving away from it because of the reading mood I was in at the time and haven’t picked it back up. I’m hoping I’ll have the chance to read it soon because I am curious about it.
An Ember in the Ashes
I am currently reading An Ember in the Ashes and I am LOVING it! No wonder there is so much hype surrounding this book. Even though I’m only about 170 pages in, I know this is a series I need to get more of in my life and I can’t wait to finish it.
The Dark Artifices
I’m a huge fan of Cassandra Clare and yet I still have not read Lord of Shadows. It’s been sitting on my shelf for the better part of a year now. I’m hoping to get to it sometime this summer or fall – but definitely before the release of Queen of Shadows!
The Thousandth Floor
I read The Thousandth Floor last year and while I enjoyed it, I didn’t love it. That being said, I am curious enough to continue with the series. I have the second one on my shelf and I’m hoping to read it before the final book, The Towering Sky, is released in August.
The DC Icons
I’m eagerly anticipating the release of Catwoman by Sarah J Maas which makes me want to read the first two in the DC icons series. While each of these books are standalones, I still view it as a series and am curious about each one!
The Illuminae Files
This is another series I’m late to the game for. I started reading Illuminae but put it down, once again because of my reading mood. I’m hoping to continue it at some point, because I do think it’ll be a series I’ll enjoy. I think just at the moment I have a lot more books that are interesting me a bit more.
The Young Elites
This is another series I’ve been meaning to read. I only have the Young Elites but I really would like to read the series. It seems like something I would really enjoy and yet I still haven’t had the chance to read it.
Arc of a Scythe
I recently read Scythe and I enjoyed it. I’m hoping to get to Thunderhead at some point, although I think with all the pressing books I have on my TBR list that it will be a while before I pick it up. I do see this as a series I plan on continuing and finishing at some point.
Well, that’s it for my top ten list this week! What books made your list? Are there any series on my list that you absolutely loved? Let me know in the comments!
