The Mystery Blogger Award!

Wow, this is incredibly exciting! Thank you to Maddie, who blogs over at Munch Reviews for the nomination! It’s nice to be recognized for all the dedication and hard work that goes into blogging. Despite all that, I wouldn’t change it for the world! Blogging and the bookish community is the best!

Three Things About Me

Teaching: In addition for having a passion for reading and discussing books (which lends itself to running this blog) I have a huge passion for teaching. Ever since I was little I have wanted to be an Elementary school teacher. Next week, that dream becomes a reality when I officially graduate and receive my license to teach.  It is an incredible feeling to inspire young kids and it is an experience I am so grateful to be a part of!

Disney Fanatic: I am OBSESSED with Disney. Like seriously, obsessed. The movies, the theme parks, the music! Everything. It brings me such joy and happiness. It almost feels like you can escape everything around you and enter into a magical world, and I love it. I recently visited Disneyland in California for Pixar Fest and it was great! I am always planning my next trip in my head!

Travel: I love to travel! I’ve been very lucky to have visited numerous places around the world. Most of these are because of cruises – it’s amazing to go on a two week cruise and see so many amazing places. I don’t think I would have seen as many places as I have if it weren’t for cruising! Some places I’ve visited include: England, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Poland and Russia! I’ve also visited numerous places in Canada and the United States.

What is your ideal vacation?

Like I mentioned above, my ideal vacation would either be Disney (duh!) or a cruise. Disney is fun and reliable – it’s always a guarantee to have a great time. A cruise is awesome because you can tailor your itinerary to what you want. For example: Caribbean for relaxation or Mediterranean for adventure and history.  Either one of those vacations would be perfect for me!

What is your favourite and least favourite smell?

My favourite smell is fir trees. You know that smell that comes with getting a real Christmas tree? It fills up your house and you just can’t get enough of it? Yeah, that’s the one. I love searching for candles that have any hint of that scent. It’s definitely a favourite of mine.

My least favourite smell is a tie between honey and olives.  Both smells are so distinct to me and just leave me with an overwhelming sensation of distaste. If you asked me why, I wouldn’t know how to pinpoint it. I just know that since I was young, those two smells have never been something I’ve enjoyed.

If a genie gave you three wishes, what would they be?

My first wish would be for a better world. One where we didn’t have to constantly live in fear of walking out the door and something happening. One where there were no wars or unnecessary reasons for people losing their lives.

My second wish would be for good health for myself and all family and friends. I’ve been touched by many people in my life battling illnesses and health issues and it’s one that is extremely stressful and heartbreaking. I would wish that all of us could enjoy the life we’re given without unnecessary hardships.

My last wish would be for ultimate happiness. To be happy doing the things I love and not have to worry. To enjoy family and friends. To just enjoy life overall.

Best piece of advice for a new blogger.

Since I am a relatively new blogger myself, I don’t have much advice. However, I would say that the best thing I’ve learned is to not put pressure on myself. I’m doing this because I love it. I’m doing this because I have a passion for it. But that doesn’t mean that I need to write content just to keep up with a posting schedule. It should be about quality and not quantity. It also means I don’t have to read the newest release or whatever it is that your blog focuses on at the time its released. It’s about forcing yourself to relax and go with the flow.

I’ve also learned that while this is an amazing community, it is also one where we need to find the opportunity to be ourselves.  There isn’t much room within the book blogging community to be extremely different, however, we are all unique and our blogs are a reflection of that. I try my best to put my own unique spin on things.

If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This is a tough one to answer, and I have to say that it’s a tie between two foods. I would be extremely happy to eat pizza and pasta for the rest of my life. What can I say, I’m a carb girl!  Also, they can be made in so many different ways that it could feel like you’re eating something different each time.
